Thx U89 -

TGP considers Whitlock to be one of the best in the business.  Eventhough TGP is a Boston guy at heart, TGP will always check the KC Star to see what pearls of wisdom JW has written.

Re: Whitlock article..

Excellent... the best comment on the Imus affair I have heard.  As a occasional listener to the Imus program, I believe he and Bernard have said worse..

The comment was objectionable, and as Vivian Stringer put it every other "able" she could think of... but this all too-familiar knee-jerk, media firestorm, repeatedly funded by corporate political correctness is getting out of hand.  The Billy Packer comment was another "you've got to be kidding me" situation.

Media and celebrity figures should be held accountable for their gaffes however let's be honest about the true damage being done.  I've heard some of these Rutgers women claiming they are "scarred for life".   As Whitlock said theyve heard worse from thier Ipods.

C'mon

RE: Imus

The wierd thing about this is how the whole thing got started.  There is this liberal radio watchdog group called "Media Matters" that started this whole thing.  This group has someone listen to dozens of media shows like Imus looking for politically incorrect comments and then taping them and sending them to other media outlets and political groups in order to spark an uproar over the programs themselves.  I guess there wasnt one actual complaint about the comment itself from listeners to radio staitions and their affialiates!  It was only after this watchdog group put the clips out and started things up that the ball got rolling.

Ill listen to Imus once in a while and I could swear that worse things get said on that show.  And I also bet that if I heard him say that I would have never have thought twice about it.  Bottom line it was funny.  Imus is a comedian (clown is fine too) who makes jokes.

Anyone see comedian Patrice O'neil on the Hannity and Combs show?  He also had a great point about the whole situation.  It was a joke, and Imus is basically a comedian and his show has humor.  He thought it was funny and its not right for comedians to be shut down because people think something is offensive.

I think its Imus' fault for even apologizing.  He should have just said it was a joke and thats it.

I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run

I thought these "marathon" runners like it cold.  I guess I don't really know as the farthest I run is to the fridge for another cold Miller Lite or some leftover pizza...

Sumander: Have u ever been to the Boston Marathon/in Boston for Patriot's Day?  It is quite an experience...

Crowd looks very thin at Fenway today, but not "bone chilling" cold.
Chasing MILFs since '82...
