btw, pbr threw  a quick poll at the top of the page since we are having this arguement at work on which true steakhouse is the best....

Ruth 'Christ' hasn't had a good steak in some 2000 years...

How can you go wrong with Steak anyway?  If it's fresh and it's cooked right, it's gonna be good.  Even gawdy chains like Texas Roadhouse make a pretty mean steak.  My favorite steak was at 'Kokomo' in The Mirage in Vegas.  Primo...

Beat me to the ballbustin' on Ruth 'Jesus Christ'.....Ruth Chris buries the steak in about a pound of butter...butter with anything is better.
In Boston, Abe & Louis is the best, followed closely by Grill 23.

Lugers could be the best steak I have ever had even though it is in one of the crappier boroughs.

Capital Grille too.  Grill 23 is good though when they have the sliced filet special....Abe and Louis is fantastic though too and has the best atsmosphere of them all (In Boston anyway)

Even for Arizona?  :o  ???  :D  :-\

Even for Arizona.  The Rev suspects that Arizona's Political Correctness is due to the massive influx of Californians who moved here for the cheap housing and drove up the housing market and pushed the "something-for-nothing" button and the state is sliding downhill fast.

The Rev needs to find a new paleo-conservative wonderland.  AZ is a goner.

Are there any safe havens left where brothers don't marry their sisters? JT would eventually like to move where his vote actually counts.  Not too many independent thinkers in the NY/NJ area.

Not too many individual thinkers left anywhere in the US of A anymore.

I don't think you will find anywhere in corporate america that thinks it's OK to use the term C in a blender......that's amature hour.

Peter Lugers...HUGELY overrated...

Mortons Hugely overpriced, but consistently good....

Had good and bad with Ruth

Best Golf tournament ...Arnie Mortons in LA (they have playmates as the cart girls)

Best Steak I ever had....The Cowtown Diner in souther NJ....combination Flea Market, Rodeo, and Diner (Not sure if the diner even exists any longer...)

The thing that frosts JT is that JT will listen to and absorb opposing viewpoints before speaking.  Not these other people.... JT will start talking and "party line soundbite rebuttals" come back.  They don't even consider that a different viewpoint has any validity.

Lugers is good, but its either cash or a Lugers credit card.  That's it for payment options.

Last really memorable steak dinner TGP had was at "FIX" in Vegas.  It's in the Bellagio and presents a great combo:

1) excellent steaks (some of the best TGP has ever tasted)
2) lots of nice "scenary"

I think it is safe to say that you and I hardly agree on anything JT, but this is well said.  +k.

sorry so late on the steak commentary (did someone say steak?).  Gro's employer has put the word out repeatedly that excessive internet use will not be tolerated... and if you were to look up "excessive internet use" you would see a pic of gro (doing the chop).  So when gro has a sit down with HR, it's going to be about fantasy football, not post patterns.

Yeah, so steak... out of those places Gro's only been to Mortons in ATL and it was good but not $40 good.  For $40 that steak should do my taxes and set up a wireless network in my house.  I agree with Lewdogg, it's not hard to screw up a steak, especially when gro asks for well done.

Eating a steak well done is like eating cooked sushi.  The redder the steak, the bigger balls you have.  Gro, I thought you knew.  Then again...

Agreed, any thoughts or opinions from 'Gro about a steakhouse should now be ignored due to the 'well done' comment......I'm hoping that was actually a joke....please say it was a joke!!

Looking for opinions and thoughts....

I have had a Dell PC for the last 10 or so years.....now looking to buy an iMac...more expensive, but comes loaded with software, Office 2004 for Mac runs an additional $150.

Security and service seem to be the main selling points.

Anyone......Bueller????

Although a Dell lifer thus far, I've heard nothing but positive things about Apple - Ease of use being main point of emphasis. May even snag one myself once this laptop has served it's purpose.

Yes, it is amateurish to speak with flavor.  The Rev is going to go back and make sure he puts the new cover sheet on the TPS reports, because that's what it takes to be a true professional.

The Rev isn't really too concerned with what is or is not acceptable to corporate (or government) America because The Rev would rather be disdained and marginalized for speaking his mind freely than to be accepted because I can successfully knuckle under to people who want to control me.  And I'm not so much concerned as being told that semi-vulgar or vulgar expressions aren't OK.  I'm concerned that real expression is being stiffled under the false guise of manners or decorum.  Sometimes things just need to be said.  The Rev's real regret is that he didn't just come out during the meeting and tell the town leaders that they are putting their wang in the blender. Maybe being told the truth so bluntly would have shocked them into the realization that they are being fools...fools about to waste millions of town, county, state and federal dollars in order to do small-town cronyism.

Perhaps the Rev is swinging the pendulum too far the other way.  The Rev is so tired of cowardice and craven behavior in the workplace (in every place!), that he is positioning himself with the opposite vice of bravado.  Perhaps the Rev will find a virtuous middle, where he can show that the Emperor has no clothes, but say so in such a way that he does not offend the socially acceptable crowd.
