Thanks for the explanation PC.

Never had trouble in the past while using the laptop.

Pat Coleman

That's good. It's probably that temporary outage, then.

I'm a bit hung over from sucking back ML's and watching the Sox game yesterday.  Do you think I can get a small pool size tub of skin lube and I can just jump in!!

Something tells me that the Rod Beck death has drugs involved....too bad, he was supposedly a pretty good dude.

LD11 does not want to be in a car ever again.  Tomorrow LD11 flies to Dirty Jerz for the day, then Thursday, it's back in the car for the long haul North to defend my beer pong championship title.

Brutal.

R.I.P. - Rod Beck - He was a motor boating son of a b!tch.

'gro

LD, how much would you pay to have a car that drives itself? I've got a friend that can help you out.

Bring it back with a full tank ya heard?

TGP is actually happy to return to work today so he can relax.

Although it was fun to go to SD last weekend and see the Sox, travelling with 2 little ones is way more stressful than anything that can happen at the office.

Can't say enough good things about SD.  Perfect weather, great downtown, awesome ball park, etc.

Really hope that the rumor of next year's Hobart-Syracuse lax game taking place down in SD for the First 4 comes to fruition.

amen to that tgp...flying to/from LAX from philly last summer was more than crazy trying to control 3 rug rats on a plane for 6 hours....pbr's vacation started when he got back to work....pbr has almost gotten into more throw downs when traveling/eating out w/ kids than at any point in his lifetime. pbr almost came to blows last november up on cape cod in a nice restaurant w/ some old geezer who was giving pbr's kids nasty looks and talking just loud enough for pbr to hear so pbr had enough and let loose. pbr kids in all honestly were just sitting there quietly coloring and hadnt said a word that is what got pbr fired up. of course mpbr just says oh boy here we go....and the whole place just gets quiet as pbr questions this dood out loud w/ "whats your problem?" "if you got something to say lets hear it otherwise shut your yapper" needless to say the hostess moved them to another table and this guys wife apologized later on.

as we all know 'gro sucks at golf (how bad? gro can hardly hit the damn thing, and some "drives" don't make it past the ladies tee).  Well guess who's playing 9 holes after work?

forget peer pressure, this was beer pressure.

PBR...

just remember "houston rules" gro....which is if your drive does not get past the ladies tee you have to play the hole with your pants down around your ankles to show everyone your a man....

Seeing that Reg has seen you swing a bat before this is what I would do if I were Gro.

Go out and buy the most expensive clubs, balls and golf clothes you can find.  Start by warming up with an 8 iron, being very careful not to touch the ground with the club...
Work your way up to swinging with a driver.  Don't swing hard or they will see how bad you suck.

Just when you are about to tee off, tell everyone that you are "just getting used to these new shoes, I had my last pair for 5 years and loved them, kinda like an old baseball glove, but they needed to be replaced" (they will understand).

Now step up to the ball, and swing as hard as you can, letting your front foot slip out from undernieth you.  Fall to the ground being careful not to grass stain your crispy new threads.  Complain of a "tweaked back and knee problems"

Enjoy the rest of the night sipping cold ML's and driving the cart for your partner.

Now, onto the easy part-
Take the clubs and balls back immediately and get all your money back.
Take the clothes back, (did you remember to leave the tags on and keep them clean??!?!)
Take the shoes back to the place you bought them and told them you slipped on the first hole and wish to return them.

Overall cost, ~$20 the cost of a 9 hole round
Saving your pride and status of being a man and not some Sally who can't hit a freaking golf ball- PRICELESS

+k reg for the time, effort, and hilariousness of your post.

1. I told them straight up that I stink and I will whiff more times than they have ever seen in their life.
2. They are co-workers, not bosses, so there's no need to impress.
3. One guy doesn't even keep score (but I doubt he's as bad as me).

p.s. Why golf... WHY? Wouldn't it be great if the corporate bigwigs called you at 2pm and said, "hey, plan on leaving around 4, we're gonna play kickball down at the middle school field.

"Gro, I don't think you give yourself enough credit.  Other than the fact that you need to work on your form a bit, you are fine at golfing.  You hit it straight.  You just need to relax and make sure you hit the ball.  Lastly, you need to get rid of the bad attitude about golf.  it's a good game.  It's a nice game to drink, chat, and enjoy the weather.

Or....Read Regulators rules above, and then challenege everyone to a soccer game.
