When KS started at NJCU nee JCSC they were rated by USNWR as a top educational value for the money.  Of course that was when NJ state tuitions were under 1000.00 per semester.  Then when Whitman came in as gov the state did away with state oversite and the colleges all became autonomous and tuitions started to skyrocket.  Of course she also did away with a lot of state funding also.  Now the state wants to take over again.

To any parents that reads LLPP... please consult us before sending your kids to ANY D3 institution... we are here to help.

What is RPI's 'ratio' all about?
Is there anything to do in Geneva (Canton, Worcester, Troy, Schenectady, etc.)?
Do I really need a volvo to get into Union?

Find these answers, and so much more, at LLPP.

Any Bostonians care to chime in regarding the Hilton Boston Logan Airport hotel?

TGP and family are coming out to New England in November for an extended visit and need a place to sleep on the day of our arrival (our flight from LA arrives late in the evening EST and our check in to our hotel in Stowe isn't until the day after we arrive).

Same deal on the way back - our flight is early AM so we thought it would make sense to be close to Logan the night b/f.

TGP, that hotel is literally at the airport....nothing at all near it as Logan is pretty much it's own entity in that location.  Now that the new tunnel is built, traffic in and out is not nearly as bad as it used to be.  There is a nice new Marriot here in Charlestown which has many great restaurants in walking distance....from this Marriot, you are about 5 minutes from the airport.

Thx U89 -

Having nothing near by is not an issue.  We are literally going to check in, sleep, get up and leave immediately for VT the next day.

TGP has stayed in Charlestown b/f and it's definitely nicer than being in Logan.  Personally, TGP would like to stay at the FS on the Common (where we stayed the last time we went to Boston), but since we are travelling with the little ones, convenience takes a much higher precedence than luxury.

Or our flight back it's the exact same deal.  We'll have been hanging out with family all week so basically after dinner we'll drive up to the hotel, check in and leave immediately for our flight first thing the next morning.

The fact we can take an enclosed tram from Logan to the Hilton is pretty nice as well since to us wimpy Californians, anything under 68 degrees feels pretty chilly.

Could be a bit noisy with all the airline traffic, but I have never stayed there....Looks nice from the outside though... ;D

PBR...

TGP and fam are coming in for TGP's Mom's 60th B-day.  All kids and grand kids required to be on deck.  We're going to stick around for Thanksgiving, etc etc.

BTW - all the rooms in the hotel are sound-proofed (at least that what the reservation guy said - TGP will let you know if that's the case).

bman

Bman has stayed there several times, and never heard any airtraffic noise...but then again, there is a nice bar there and Scotch was probably a factor...

Touchdown Tommy

Touchdown T is back from his weekend bender and Maiden Voyage to Vegas.  Stayed at the Paris.  It sucked (TDT will have his hotel/casino rankings released later).

3 team Parlay on Friday (2-1, ain't gonna get it done)
2 team Parlay on Sat (1-1, ain't gonna get it done)
Twins on Sat, even money (Cah ching cah ching!!!)
2 team Parlay on Sun (0-2, ugs)

A few observations...

1. Never have I seen so many gorgeous women in one place (this includes South Fla)
2. Mandalay Bay has the sweetest pool area.  Simply off the hook for talent...
3. 108 is hot.  Humidity or not, TDT was riding the monorail, dipping into casino after casino, and downing plenty of the "frozen" drinks that resemble slushys.
4. McCarran Int'l is the biggest DUMP I have ever been in.  Are you kidding me?  This airport has to be untouched for 30+ yrs.  How bout a renovation!!!  I know that the volume of dirty disgusting slobs thru there has to extremely high (i mean it was rediculously busy in the worst time on the yr to go to Vegas) but this place was bad.  Makes JFK look like the Ritz-Carlton...
5. How do the little Mexicans do that flippy thing with the cards made famous by LD11?  TDT's gang could NOT figure this out.  Those cats are amazing.  All day, everyday in that oppressive heat passing out the hooker cards...
6. Bellagio light/water show was pretty neat.  Just saw a little of the Pirate ship battle at Treasure Island.
Chasing MILFs since '82...

Good to know since by the time TGP stays there he will have just travelled cross country with a 3 and 1 year old.  TGP is thinking that scotch is pretty much the only thing that will help him recover from that experience.

Yep -

TGP and fam actually drove about 1 hr from our place about 1-2 mos ago up to an area called Mt Pinos.  It's just off of I-5 not too far from the Magic Mt parks and about 4k in elevation.  My daughter wasn't impressed, but our dogs had a blast running around in the cold and snow.

Pretty crazy.  When we left our house it was 70+ and sunny - up there it was 34 and snowing.

Re: VT - Unfortunately, TGP doubts we'll get too much skiing in.  TGP and the Mrs might get a morning in if possible, but that's about it.  My folks aren't real hands on with the kids (they have the been there, done that attitude which doesn't go over real big with the Mrs since her mom basically takes both kids and let's us chill whenever we visit her folks).

And is it TGP, or is the LLPP getting a little soft in their old age?

TGP is surprised that no one on this board has even attempted to kid PC about this man-tastic pic from the home page:
