on a more serious note, RT would like to initiate the 1st annual LL Saratoga track day. Mid-late August jumps out at RT. Is anyone interested in a suaree for the day at the track? Adult beverages, wagering, eyeballing hot talent in sun dresses?????

Damn RT, timing is bad for Bman, but he can join you at a sister park (Delaware Park) for some action...however, you will need to substitute "Hot Talent" with older women with no teeth muttering to themselves every few minutes.....

Bman LOVES the ponies....

JT used to go with a buddy for simulcasting at the Meadowlands in Dirty Jersey. It was like being dropped off in Siagon.  Man do those doods love to bet the ponies.

Buddy was often trying his latest fail proof formula.  JT would pick the horse names he liked win-place-show and often beat the guy.  Drove him nuts.  JT didn't read, study, or talk the lingo.

If anyone in the LLPP likes to hang with the senior tour, TGP will vouch for the Seabourne as having some sweet cruising (and free drinks - of course, these are probably part of the up front fee).

TGP's in-laws invited the family on a cruise a couple years back.  Went from Lisbon to London.  Best part was an overnight pit stop in Bordeaux.

Of course, TGP and the Mrs were the youngest passengers by about a good 30-40 yrs, but when your father in law is picking up the check, you can't complain.

At least the eastern european maids on board were pretty hot.

Another dark horse candidate is Rochester.  The Yellowjackets bring back their top wide receiver and running back.  I voted for them in the Top 25 in my annual "let's take a chance on someone off the radar" pick.

Last year's pick in that category was Widener. Hello, full circle. :)

Saw this on the General FB boards.  Interesting pick.  The Beez did have a nice season last year and both Hobart and Union have a lot of holes to fill.  Could give RPI (TGPs pre-season LL champ pick based on Robertson having a couple of seasons under his belt and the Enginegros strong finish to the 06 season) and the rest of the LL a good run for their money.

So true, so true.  TDT doesn't know what it is but the Asians LOVE to gamble.  Noticed lots of them in Vegas and in the past noticed large numbers of them playing any game imaginable at the local casino in MSP.

Jonny: Are you sure about the free drinks at the Bellagio?  TDT was reluctantly paying for his as were virtually all other folks who placed bets there.  Drinks were free as long as you were playing the video poker at the bar directly adjacent to all the sportsbooks on the Strip.  TDT was pretty amazed at how much the "quality" of the sportsbooks varied.  Some were real Top Notch LLPP, Inc approved setups while others were something you'd see in Laughlin...Also WTF is up with all the little tv setups "for racing customers only"?  Are you kidding TDT?  They sat empty the majority of the time regardless of what casino it was.

Uh Oh....

I smell an uprising!!!  D3Football.com released their Top 25 and RPI is deeeeeep down the list receiving only 5 total votes.

For the record, I pick RPI to win the LL and rank them #5 in PG04's Eastern Top 10.

Just call me Conrad Dobler!!!!!

PBR...

nice DVC tied RPI with 5 votes but a bigger surprise as rochester almost nips RPI in the polls w/ 1 vote...

TDT,

You can sit at the bar there, or the seats set up next to the bar and pay for drinks, but if you go out to the right of the individual tvs (right under the electric scoreboards), those drinks are free.  Not sure why more people don't walk the extra 5 feet and get the free drinks instead of sitting at the bar, but I was there at the end of June, and they were still free.

LLPP logic states that completing a preseason poll is like walking into a party and trying to rank all the girls based on looks, or what you know (or you've heard) about said girls.

Not saying we shoudn't have the polls (they have to start sometime), but they mean more as the season progresses.

Just a hunch, but I have a feeling when our regional rankings come out, the LL will be in the order of:

1)  Hobart
2)  RPI
3)  Union
4)  Rochester(If they even make it)

The 'national' poll is mostly based on how last year finished up.  I have a feeling the regional poll may be slightly different...:-)

couldn't agree more...but it still fun and will push more football talk.  Not that realistic doesn't enjoy baseball, RT's home life, Bass Tourneys, Jose v Guru fueds, gambling and lindsay lohan conversations but its good to see some football.

Your listing of the four isn't that different than ours: Hobart, Union, RPI, Rochester.

I think people look at the lack of an offensive line returning for RPI and the loss of a big pass-catching TE and wonder whether RPI is going to have any offense. Two games against Endicott and Utica won't prepare RPI for traveling to Hobart.

Agreed.  I guess I didn't get my point across.  Just based on # of votes, I read the D3 poll as...

1.  Hobart
2.  Union
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
3.  RPI
4.  Rochester

I think here it will be more like:

1.  Hobart
2.  RPI
3.  Union
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
4.  Rochester

Hopefully that makes a little sense... ;D
