It's only when you use 8 with the parentheses. That's a smiley, like other characters with parentheses. 8)

PBR is a good drinking inexpensive beer. JT thinks his first taste of beer from Dad was a Schaefer.  Schmidts and PBR were also in the house because it was what Dad drank in college.  Schmidts used to be brewed in Philly.

Fairly certain mine was PBR, actually. That's what dad drank when we were just getting by.

My pops always drank the original Coors with the pull tabs.  There is nothing quite like the delicious taste of Dad's beer.

In general: Killian's, Amstel Light, Guinness. My wife's family reunion had Heineken Light which I actually found to be not awful.

I heartily recommend Shiner Bock if you can find it -- native to the Texas area, or Leinenkugel's if in the upper Midwest.

Mmmmmmmmmmm Leinenkugel, KS had that a long time ago.  Amstel Light is very good for a light beer.

TGP will second the Shiner Bock call.  A couple of TGP's friends from the Dallas area introduced TGP to the Bock a few years back.  Shiner even has a big music festival every year as well.  Kind of a mini South by Southwest.

No matter where LD11 goes, if Magic Hat #9 is on tap, there's nothing better than an ice cold pint of it.

Also a big fan of this brew I think from Seattle called Pyramid.  Good stuff.

MIOH just moved about 1.7 miles from the Sam Adams Brewery in Boston. 
MIOH highly recommends the Brew tour to fellow LLPP & E8PP members.
The tour is only about 45 mins.  and you can score about 28-42oz of free sammy out of it.
They also test new products with the tour groups.

Pyramid is not bad...

not a big fan of Shiner Bock...Abita Turbo Dog is very similar.

I like alot of the Harpoon products especially UFO , and Anchor Steam is very good.

My fav is Shakespeare Stoudt and Dead Guy Ale, out of Oregon...
