Rochester playing without Jay Jay Vanderstyne and Matt Bielecki today according to JC DeLass.

Big blow to the Rochester offense.

injury? discipline?   Is it ok if gro refers to Vanderstyne from now on as Va-Jay-Jay?

+K for Dr. Gro imparting more medical knowledge on LLPP.

Vanderstyne was said to still be working his way back from offseason surgery. No clue on Bieliecki.

Bielecki was banged up & held out of their last scrimmage I read. He's obviously more hurt than anyone expected.

Was hoping App St could have pulled off the upset in the big house.  Wonder what that would have paid in Vegas if you took the A's and the points?

Just more proof that the Big 10 is a joke.

How about UR getting smoked by CMU?

Rolevio thinks TGP gave up on the game a  little too early.

DP caught the Dragons and the Pumpkin Heads scrimmage in Geneva today.  Couldn't beat the blue sky and low 70s!

Cortland did most of the scoring.  I think Hobart scored once (nice TD drive) with their first teamers.  It was a pretty good matchup, with both defenses looking way ahead of their offenses.

Hobart had a hard time moving the ball on the ground, but had some success with medium length route passes.  Cortland's offensive line struggled with a lot of penalities, and overall the offense just didn't seem in sync.

I think the early prediction from D3 of 7 wins for Cortland is a good first bet.  Hobart should be similar, with each team needing to improve to have legitimate NCAA hopes.  Both should be very dangerous in their own leagues however.

DP also still reeling from listening to game updates of Michigan - App State on XM radio.  How does something like that happen?  It doesn't seem remotely possible.

And what was the Mountaineers coach thinking kicking the Field Goal with 30 seconds remaining on first down?  You run the clock down and give Michigan 0 time left to rally.  It's freaking Coaching 101.  Even Michael Vick knows this stuff.  We are going to see that Michigan field goal blocked for the next decade!  And so is Lloyd Carr...

Thanks for a good scouting report and scrimmage wrap-up. +K

Thanks for the wrap up C_F!
I doenst sound like hobart is a NCAA caliber team this year, does it?

Michigan??  Reg told MR that "I can't imagine being in the locker room right now, I wonder what the head coach is saying at this point in time".."or is he just breaking chairws over blackboards?"

Norwich Purple Tornado beat Johnson City 42-21 at Alumni Field, Perry Browne School, Norwich, NY.

Alumni Field is home of the once illustrious Pop Warner squad, the Norwich Cyclones.
Those of you who grew up in CNY and played Pop Warner FB lost to the Cyclones regularly.

The Rev recommends http://www.section4football.com/ to keep up on HS football in the Southern Tier.

Reg-

Hobart was not of NCAA caliber last year at this time either, when they really got pushed around in the scrimmage.  But we all know how that turned out.

They should be fine.  Coach seems to get the most out of his players, and they improve as the season progresses.

congrats to the 2 people that thought that the LL would win 1 non conference game this weekend (WPI over Mass-Dartmouth).  Whoever said they'd win 3 games is a complete idiot (me).
