QuoteDamn stim, are you just trying to butter up Reg for a delicious car bomb at shoesapolooza 07??

Maybe after the games during the true palooza segment of the day ... I can watch a game after a few but may have to wait till after this year ....if the family member is playing.. nerves and car bombs probably not a good fit.

Wouldn't a couple of pops help with the nerves?

Regulator

Come on Stim....man up, it's all good.  I think Regs dad used to brown bag a couple during the game.

Touchdown Tommy

REG,

Was PapaReg nervous #39 would get pancaked by a Union defender like TDT will be doing to Ballin' on a Budget this weekend?

PapaReg was probably more confident in Reg pancaking linebackers than Reg getting pancaked.
Out of the 4 years Reg started, he only fumbled 3 times, lost 10 yards total and got pancaked once....EVER.

I will never forget this play....ever.

So we are playing Union, at Union.  RPI is marching and Reg is on a roll (don't ask me the year).  Reg takes a dive right, and breaks past the line, then he is about to break past the linebackers.  At that second, Reg has his eye on the middle linebacker, running straight up (Which is something Reg NEVER did unless he thought he could beat the linebacker into the secondary) when WHAM!!! The cornerback comes from right field and puts a hit on Reg that literally sent him horizontal.  I got up....everyone was silent,  they had never seen mecome off my feet like that before and probably thought I was dead.  I was fine, just confused as to why I didn't see the 140lb. corner coming at me jimmy supafly snooka style.

I think that was one of Regs best games ever too...

Hey Gro, did we win that year?  Isn't that the year stinger got in the defenses face and told them "We can win with Regu Lator!!!"

stimulator

Did he have a hidden beverage or did he out it over his head?

Wow, I don't remember that play. But I can guess that you were probably PISSED!

Nah... hate to break it to you, but we never won AT Union (home team won all 4 games when we were there). They snotted us in 98 and you remember the last second win they pulled out of their arse in 2000.  Damn turf was too dry, gotta soak the field!  Gro usually had good games against the U, double digit tackles at least twice.

Ahhhh, I really think PapaReg thought he was a bum in NYC or something where they don't bother you "as long as they don't see it"....I mean, he literally kept his beverage of choice in a brown bag.   It worked, althought the public saftey guys really leave the old dudes alone and mainly target the rowdy, younger crowd in the end zone.

PS- since shoesapolooza is in Union this year, it is totally "game on"  they rarely bother anyone on the hill, and there are signs leading up into the bleachers that read-
"•White wines match best with soft cheeses and stronger flavors
• Red wines match best with hard cheeses and milder flavors"

What is that?

PS- U89, can I sit with you this year?

Regulator

Gro- That's right.....reg forgot about that.  I would have been a god in 2000 should we have won that game.

That's right Stim.  That was when Reg was 230lbs. of twisted steel and s** appeal.
Damn I wish I was in that kind of shape now!

no socks (a.k.a. mike tyson) to show off those ripped calves... 8
I am the FB in that pic, closer to the line of scrimmage.  Why is everyone checking out legs....weird!

I was wondering why the quarterback had bigger biceps.

Because it was a tailback.

Did Utah actually play at Ithaca??  What is this amature hour??

Also, fullback in white grips and tailback in black?  Was Reg a primadonna??

Although there are no pics of JU floating around the web, there is a old school pic of him on the online media guide.  I called up the SID to see if he could put "6-0 against the LL" next to my name, but he said that isn't really that impressive anyway.

And like Reg, JU wore the McDavid elbow rubbers for most games. Especially Alfred and Springfield.

Rolevio remembers both games, though surprisingly remembers the 98 game much better than he does the 2000 game.  The '98 game was also the only time Rolevio ever sat on the hill as it was before he fully appreciated how often that hill was used as a toilet.

JT

JT is watching Costas on HBO.  Michael Irvin has a knot in his tie that is wider than his head.

JT

Watching Earl Campbell on Costas was really hard.  He was one of JT favorite players.  It was difficult knowing that my 90 yr old grandfather moves around better than the 52 year old Campbell.

Great news about the partnership for the video webcasting with D3Cast.  Will this be available on archives somewhere or is that against NCAA rules?  KS has a gig Saterday night and will not be able to watch live.  If this is not archived is there a way to record the webcast?

Yes, we will have an archive of regular season games.
