You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Cool.  thanks, I can't wait to watch it.  Wow, South Florida.

Hobart lost, and The Rev was disconsolate.
Mercifully, The Rev has a few back up teams that have helped soothe the hurt.

ASU beat Colorado.  Rev happy.
Auburn beat USF.  Rev happy.
Syracuse not only looked like crap, they looked like crap twice over because of their retro-ass uniforms. Rev Happy.

SU looks so bad, they are looking to recruit Beetlejuice and hire Llyod Carr.

B/C I was so curious about this, I emailed the UNION SID and got this response:

"There was no change. They may have mentioned the "Fighting Dutchman Gridiron Club" and considered it that way.
Long night, tough loss."

There is the official answer.  Announcers need to check on nicknames b4 going on the air, just like they need to know the officials' signals and the yaradge on a football field.

Rev,

MIYH was excited because he finally got to see the Sun Devils here in Denver.  Last year he traveled to Boulder to watch the game, but hasn't been able to watch a lot of ASU football.  He's also happy with the way they look following Dirk's depature.  He was never a huge fan of Koetter.  Too many penalties, games took nearly five hours to complete (although he did try and establish a running game within the last two years or so), and offensively they had not been doing much.  Koetter's best move was keeping the tee retrieval guy around.  The fans love tee guy.

p.s.
+k for a beetlejuice reference.

dude...give me a break. You want to come on the air and announce a game while crammed in a corner in 85 degree heat and jungle humidty, then have to sit throuh about 1.5 hours of delays? For the record, RT never mentioned an adjective before "Dutchmen" all evening and had he done it, it would've been Fighting b/c RT heard it said enough times as a player for the ENGINEERS of RPI.

Johnnie Mac did a fantastic job as PbP last night. He was the consumate pro and spot on with all of his calls the RT can remember. We tryed to approach eanch play to maintain accuracy and when we finally did see a ref's signal, we knew what the call was. There are times you make a preliminary call in from the booth when you think it's going to be one thing then it turns out to be another so you correct yourself.  And on the down and distance thing, RT doesn't remember that error. In any event, are you that anal to call out 1 of about 150 plays if someone makes a slight error?

It says alot about you that you register on gameday so that you can post critiques of the broadcast. And you email the SID?? wow.........sounds like you had a lot to do last night.

Seriously dude.  You telling me that RT doesn't know what a frickin delay of game call looks like?  I think you are just sore that the flying dutchman lost last night, but you won by getting the official answer to the teams mascot....

Lets go Frying Dutchman!!!!

Schwazzy,

I appreciate a new poster coming on and all that, but dude, let it go. Obviously "Fighting Dutchmen" is not something that our guys made up since it's on Union's site.

Pat,

Is there an "archive" section on the main page?

Still waking up ...

Stories that used to be on the front page go to Notables. No way to see the same stories' various rewritten versions.

JT

JT thought everyone did a good job last night.  I'll take a d3 game any way I can get it, but the more live video the better.  Keep it up.  Hope to get in on the broadcasting action one day.
