pbr preparing to be ld's biatch....

LD11 is not psyched about his FF turnout last night.  Yes, my team still wacked PBR's team, but Leinart, Fitzgerald and V Davis combining for like 16 points doesn't cut it in my book.  But....

1 and 0 baby....Bring on TDT!!!

tell pbr about it...stephen jackson, deion branch got pbr notta....branch is supposedly seattles #1 wr and they threw the ball in his direction a f'n total of 3 times!!! jackson spouts off about how he is going to gain 2500 total yards and cant break 50...then randy moss takes hgh and has 800 yards of receiving w/ tds to top it off...

lewdogg11

My top 2 picks in my other league, SJ and Jerious Norwood, combined for 7 points.  BRUTAL!!!  Julius Jones HATES the endzone, and my Chicago D was my 3rd highest scorer in that league.  Luckily for the Moss-Brady combo combining for 55 points, I was atleast a little competitive...

So has anyone noticed LD11's early projected points total for the TDT matchup this week???

119.56...WHAT???

Bubdad, KS just wanted to welcome you and let you know that we appreciate it if people post in the third person on the LLPP.  That's just how we roll.

BubDad gets it. BubDad is a virgin and you guys are great. What a great site this is, has to be a labor of love or no one would do it.

Senor RedTackle

This may be RT's first and last fantasy season. Congrats to Dirty Sanchez......RT's best player for week 1 ended up being on the bench. LaMont Jordan...WHAT??? RT threw him in as a slop RB and he blows up for 27 pts.

F  Ronnie Brown. He sucks. And where was Darrell Jackson last night?

Obviously RT's skillz is on the air and not in the general manager's booth.

Naked Nott Run

NNR would like to take a moment to honor those who lost their lives and the loved ones who are remembering their losses on that horrible day 5 years ago...

NNR would like to wish his best to The Stokes family and Union alumni who lost their son and friend Mark soon after the attacks when he was on his way home to be with his family...

R.I.P. to all of you and God Bless
Anyone notice how none of the kids from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were even a little bit cool... Where was the athlete who pile drives wonka into the chocolate river??? Coulda done sooo much more with that "classic"

Thanks,
I have been keeping it in that's why I'm crying on your shoulders. How do I help him? He played from freshmen year in high school and never went 0-2 in his life. I can see in his face that it's hard for him, he's the kind of kid that is happier playing and losing than watching and winning, but watching and losing is new and difficult.

Bubdad,

This is your son's opportunity to show his excellent character.  From your posts, The Rev gets the sense that you raised your son right.  So continue doing what you have been doing: support and encourage him, lead him by your good example.  Get on the phone with him and keep the talk positive.  Tell him to stay mentally tough, and to redouble his efforts.  Your son will follow your example.  That's a given.  He'll support and encourage his teammates.  He'll keep the talk positive, and he'll put more effort into it.  His teammates will see him leaving it all out on the field and unless they are complete dolts, they will respect that.  Those who are worth while will know that if your son can do it, they can do it.  Those who are worthless will tease him for being "too into" the game.  Let him use their bad attitude to help him focus his attention on the fact that he is a winner (even if the score board says he's not).  Being a winner is an attitude, not an accomplishment.

This is his chance to show that he is a leader...or at least a leader in training.

The Rev has a personal motto for your son and his friends to use:

Esto vir!

Latin for "Be a man!"  That stirred up The Rev years ago, and hopefully it will give your son and his friends a way to express the fire in their belly.

(By the way, this was The Rev's 500th post.)

Thanks Rev,
These things may seem obvious but being reminded is good medicine. A liitle prayer goes along way too. I'm ready for Saturday again.

BubDad

BubDad having heard the company line is curious to hear LLPP opinions on why Susqu jumps from Mac to LL. Knowing opinions may be slightly slanted BubDad doesn't see LL as a softer League, quite the contrary. What's the advantage? and did Coast Guard leave for easier competition?

Coast Guard left because they are in CT.  Makes more sense to be in the NEFC...And they went from the basement to the top of the food chain...which MAy have had something to do with it.

Susquehanna....No idea....

Would love for them to get good though.  Need some of the crappy LL teams to improve.  Kind of sick of the big 3, and everyone else.

No idea why SU jumped over, but here's TGP's best guess:

Including SU, MAC had 9 league members, the LL, once it lost CG, had 7.

Easier scheduling wise to be in a league with 8 teams giving the flexibility to schedule either 1 or 2 non-conference games.  Both leagues have an AQ so that wasn't a factor.  Also could be a "marketing" strategy by SU to align itself with more similiar schools (note that SU calls itself a "national liberal arts college" on their website) like Hobart, Union, SLU, etc.

Rolevio

Rolevio was under the impression Susquehanna was part of the group that left the MAC in all sports which left them without a football conference,.  Rolevio's only guess is the LL was one of the few choices Susq. has of conferences with likeminded schools  which would seem important as Rolevio seems to remember a big reason the Landmark conference formed was how schools viewed athletics versus academics.

Note at the end of the release that ECAC.tv will webcast the Hobart-Carnegie Mellon game this Saterday.

PBR...

tgp work wise hang in there brotha pbr knows things are very difficult right now and todays news doesnt help either....re: susque lots of rumors on why they left the biggest one is they claimed to feel some mac schools were lowering admissions standards to allow questionable academic students who were good football players in the school....the other side of the coin is that a lot of people feel susque got tired of being the doormat of the mac and didnt see it getting better...especially w/ leb val improving, albright doing a huge facilities upgrade. susque basically has great facilities but arent willing to pay the coach/staff and they would rather put money elsewhere in the school programs. some would say being a strong liberal arts college there is a lot of pressure to put money into academics/campus life not sports...

Rolevio certainly believes there is some element of this (as there is at every stronger liberal arts school it seems) however Rolevio would have to wonder if this is truly the leading reason as the LL teams have 4 schools with D1 programs in others sports (5 if you count Clarkson), so alot of the schools certainly are willing to spend at least some in athletics.
