Bman thinks we all agree that the behavior was unappropriate...my post was simply to illustrate that even at the military acadamies this behavior occurs, (throwing snowballs at troops in formation, is as unappropriate as an FU chant)...and therefore the comparison is valid..
we shouldnt put them on a pedestal that they don't belong.

Should we admire them for their commitment - yes,
Should we honor them for their sacrifices - absolutely
Should we thank them for their service - certainly
Should we abuse them at a ball game - never

But all that really was hurt out of that, was Rutgers' image...let's keep that in mind before labelling all of the RU fans...

As an "old guy" now, ZA thinks it's getting harder and harder to explain to the little ones that all the F-bombs and everyting else chanted is just inappropriate behavior done by a small percentage of people when it's becoming so common that even your little ones question whether it's just a "few" people when its so obvious its becoming the norm now.

Kids actually believe they have to act like dirt bags and gang bangers to be tough on the field.  ZA just kept showing his kids films of walter payton, Dick Butkus, Ray Nitsche, Deacon Jones, etc....Not that these guys were gentlemen.  Deacon was especially known for his foul language on the field.  But ZA's point is that you can't get more intense than these guys were when they played the game and all the new age hype and in your face trash talk hasn't made the blocking and tackling any better.

ZA feels its getting harder to explain to kids they don't have to act like the so called adults to be tough, intense, and competitive.  But it's getting tougher.

PBR...

lets also everyone remember whats important in life...great news about kevin everett sounds like he may walk again....unbelievable what science and research has done!!!

Senor RedTackle

Do you think when Army or Navy guys go into battle, Hezbullah or Al Qaida is going to launch a vicious attack of "you guys suck" followed by a barrage of "F U Army" or "F U Navy"???

If they do, then we've got the simulations under their belts....

So Reg and I didn't give a roundup of the Sox game at Camden yards...2 ball chafing incidents stand out...

#1:
1 little hipster loser was cuffed and getting dragged through the concession area, obviosuly hammered.  Sox Fan.  I would say he was about 23 or 24...4 Maryland State Troopers are walking him out of there while he's yelling:
'You f'ing guys are re-tah-ded!!!  No wonder your down here in Maryland!!!'

He was obviously referring to the Maryland State troopers OBVIOUSLY having no clue because they are hillbillies.  WHAT?  I was appalled.  It still is bothering me.  This little shmuck, probably grew up in Newton, thinks the world revolves around Boston, has no idea that the Maryland State Troopers probably see 10x more crazy ish than the MA Troopers.  Baltimore is one of the worst cities in the country and isn't too far from the next one in DC.  I wanted to spit in the kids face and slap him and tell him he made me sick and embarrassed.  I'm sure the troopers were just waiting to get him out of the stadium to drop a billy club in an uncomfortable place.

#2:
Some yankee fans, probably about 40 years old or so, all beefed up on the sauce with Clemens flat tops start jawing at some little dorky Sox fans as they walk out of their seats.  Some good comments fly back and forth about the guys balding, and how old he is.  Then this doozy comes out...
Sox Fan:  Hey man, you're older than my father!
Yankee Fan:  Yeah, I F'd your father!
(Silence ensues...everyone looks at each other not sure what to make of it...)
Sox Fan:  Dude, you even have a fanny pack!!!
(Crowd busts out laughing and the Yankee terds leave)

One I won't mention is how a group of sorority chicks sitting in front of us from South Boston, not lacking in back fat were about to toss Regulator into the field for telling one if them to 'Sit Down!!!' then commenting rather loudly that 'That was probably the most excercise she's had in months'...but I won't mention that one...

Good times Reg...Always good times....
