Moving right along, I'm uninspired by Budcrew's choice of games for predictions:

"Three predictions for Week 3

Rochester at St. John Fisher, the Courage Bowl
I think Rochester's 23-point loss in Week 1 was a fluke, but I still believe St. John Fisher has too many weapons.
St. John Fisher 38, Rochester 21.

Ithaca at Hartwick
The Bombers show the Hawks why they are ranked yet again.
Ithaca 30, Hartwick 13

St. Lawrence at Alfred
In this interconference battle, (see how my column comes full circle) the Saints take on the Saxons. This game should be close, but I believe Alfred will pull it out.
AU 27, SLU 20."

C'mon Budcrew - Union/Muhlenberg...USMMA/Wm. Patterson...Even RPI/Utica...and I haven't even touched the E8's schedule this weekend...Stop protecting your 3-0 record on the softballs from last week! :)

Nothing wrong with protecting my record early in the season... it will get more challenging from here on out.

Whoever ends up pick #32 (2nd round, 1st pick) should get 1st round money if he's got a good enough agent.  The guy who loses out will be the guy that didn't get drafted last becuase there's one less pick.

It's probably better for that guy, instead of being forced on a team (and likely cut), he'll be able to sign on as a Rookie FA for whoever offers the biggest bonus or whatever team he wants (Team he used to cheer for, etc.) and then most likely cut.

BC- That is lame dude.  Those who pull that kind of crap shouldn't even be allowed to vote unless you give points up.

That is like cherry picking 5 games out of the NFL and saying you won a "pick um tounrey"

Now be a man and predict the rest.

Reg is predicting a early November haul out.  Trying to get to Mannapolis tomorrow, pull out the laptop with broadband card and dial into my slingbox to watch the games while going high class with some corona lights.

PBR...

what time should pbr be at reg's crib for departure?

REG,

Tell TDT about some of the Advantages/Disadvantages of the Slingbox.  TDT is vaguely familiar with these, but wants concrete hands-on experience.  Is the picture on the laptop crystal clear without getting choppy?  What kinda Broadband card does REGuhator roll with?  TDT has heard some piss poor things about the Sprint card and knows that virtually every company has a wireless subscription card these days.

Just for the record, I'm in first after Week 1 of the LLPPs Pick 'em.
I can't pick all the games, I try to pick 3 "interesting" games. I also try to pick every team once -- as much as I can

Again... allow gro to translate this post from Regubonics into plain english.

It completely depends on how fast your connection is TDT.  If you are getting over 700kbps (which isn't even broadband speed, you are getting an excellent picture that isn't choppy. (below 300kbps becomes choppy)

At broadband speeds 1.5>mbps you can watch HDTV without it chopping up.

Is the picture crystal clear- No, it is pretty good, but nothing like sitting in front of a 20" HDTV connected directly to the HD box.  Is it really nice to be able to watch your DVR programs and have access to your guide from anywhere?.....absolutely.

Does that answer your question at all?

Reg has a verizon wireless card.  Pretty good service around here.

One of the biggest downsides is Time Warner's upstream -- in most markets, it makes streaming Slingbox programming painful.  If you have an upstream of 512k or above, then it's not too bad.  However, upstream of 1mb plus is really needed for HD streaming.  Check your local Time Warner or Comcast specs on your broadband connection to figure out what yours is -- or try the Dslreports.com bandwidth test.

All good stuff fellas.  What kinda costs are involved with the Slingbox?

Frank,

I upstream at 600kbps and it works pretty well.

TDT- You pay $200 for the slingbox hardware and it is free to use forever.  You are basically taking your cable signal and broadcasting it over the internet.....hence free.
