can I through out this comparison... Union= Notre Dame... Prestigous Universities starting off really bad...

Not able to score an offensive touch down for long periods of time

Young unexperianced quaterbacks

both schools graduated players considered all time greats...can we continue

God, your spelling gets awful at night.

Touchdown Tommy

Frank you seem a bit testy after your Dutchmen got Monkey Stomped today...

unfortunatly frank, I have a sinking feeling that the team will not be union...and Unions biggest moment will be playing spoiler to RPI at the shooz

and as an additional note...Union lost to Springfield 31-13 and Muhlenberg 23-18 in 2004 before falling an OT short of the LL title.  This is not to say Union doesn't need to get their act together in a MAJOR way this week...but it isn't impossible.  Could a 5-4 Union team win the LL?  It's possible, although the tiebreaker scenarios are not favorable.  Union most likely could win the league with only one league loss (6-3 overall) or none (7-2 overall).  But in the immortal words of Jim Mora:

"PLAYOFFS?!"

Union fans should be a little concerned with the 100-minute scoreless streak their team has put together (I am).  No finger-pointing...it's an entire-team issue on both sides of the ball right now.  Muhlenberg is good, but Union made them look like the next national champs today.  With all due respect to the Mules, Union's poor play mixed with Muhlenberg's good play for an ugly outcome for NY football fans.  If any coach can turn it around, though, it's John Audino.  We'll see what happens at Rocho next Saturday.

Frank,
U89 loves your optimism, but damn......at this point. U89 would be ECSTATIC with a .500 season.

I"ll set the Shooz line at -16 today.......

U89 sets the 'Frozed Cat Turd Bowl' at RPI -3 1/2.....will be a great game....

Hey Rev.,

Look forward to seeing you at Boswell field next week vs. RPI.  Carnegie Mellon ran the old Wishbone offense and looked really good.

However,  Carnegie Mellon was not able to match the Statesman's pass offense.

Next week will be a high scoring game.
I envy you lucky bastids who live in Upstate and can go to every game.  The Rev would have enjoyed seeing Hobart beat CMU.  Even on the radio, it was a nail biter.

P.S. The Rev won't envy you during the true winter months.  NY is better than AZ most of the time, but The Rev has turned into a and can no longer handle the Upstate NY winter weather.

Do you have a weather forecast for next weekend?

Although U of R is now 0-2, I truly believe they have a team that could win the Liberty League.  They looked good tonight against Fisher.  Their offense is very good.  The RB Bielecki, WR Vanderstyne, and their QB are all very good I think.  I know they were missing some of these guys in week one.  Their defensive line is also quite good.  Held Fisher RB Hanson to under 100 yards.  Good pressure on the QB as well.

Good news for U of R is they haven't played any conference games.  So they still have a shot at the automatic bid.  I think it will be a tight three horse race between RPI, Hobart , and U of R.  With Hobart eventually getting the auto-bid.  It will be an interesting year in the LL to say the least.

reg, this is a better UofR team than last season.  You know those Yellowjackets that beat RPI, lost to union by 3 and bart by 10.  At least they're not playing Endicott and Utica to start their season.

Now that college football is over for the week, we can focus on things like the Liberty League Post Patterns Stupid Club For Jerks Fantasy Football League... or it's preferred acronym: LLPPSCFJFFL.

Knightstalker, this is your week to meet your doom at the hands of gro and the yazz flute.

I was wondering....

You see all these D1 teams warming up their schedule with 1-AA teams (Michigan/App St., BC/Umass, Northwestern/Northeastern) Do you think we will ever see the day where a legit 1-AA team could play a good d3 team early in the season?  And I mean like a Colgate/Hobart or a Cornell/Ithaca rather than that MACC league.  I think its time for d3 schools to actively seek out good 1-AA teams.  It should be good for the 1-AA teams as well with a win 99% of the time.  Then we (d3 fans) can celebrate an upset every once in a while.

JU is having a dismal start in the NFL pickem today (2-6) after the 1pm games.
