ND doesn't have a travelling fan base, they have a fan base that is spread throughout the country, hence the good ND support everywhere they go.

That's true because Redtackle is a huge ND fan...and we ALL know that he's spread pretty well throughout the country...

It's SCIENCE.

RT is back from the ND/USC debacle. ND is just bad....plain and simple. RT is not making any excuses for the boys...their OL sucks so the QB has no time and there's no running game. The DBs are awful. They just don't have the talent right now to compete w/ top tier teams. It's painful to admit but it's true.

BTW, RT saw WAYYYYYYY too many hotties today. Lots of car bombs consumed in South Bend

As LSU makes an interesting call to end the game... and win on a touchdown pass instead of a field goal??

Frank Rossi

LSU tried their best to play the part of Cal last weekend, but somehow, the really astonishing risk of going for a touchdown with 10 seconds left in field-goal range with a timeout in their pocket is chosen.  Miles explains to Holly Roe that he was fine with his clock scenario with a timeout in his pocket, but he forgets that a 40-yard pass takes no less than six seconds from snap to end of the descent to occur.  That assumes that the QB doesn't roll in the pocket...

LSU almost runs out of time, but they score the TD and remain in the National Title hunt -- along with 15 other teams in D-1A with 0 or 1 loss currently.

I do think that had the ball been incomplete, they still would have had a second left to kick the FG because 2 extra seconds ticked off after the catch was made in the end zone.

Nevertheless, great ending.

Despite their one loss, I think LSU is the best team in the nation.  OSU and BC (especially BC) have yet to be tested.

While I agree with you, the whole overall concept is at what I scratch my head...It's just such a huge risk to see the time potentially run out, especially when you can WIN with the field goal -- not just tie.

RT: Can't remember hearing you were a big ND fan......has Pep ever told you the story about his "Rudy Experience" at Notre Dame Stadium?  ;)

Gro realizes that he might be emasculating the manly members of LLPP with his dominance of the realm of FF... so he has decided to self enroll in some sensitivity training.

The man who caught the first ever Super Bowl touchdown pass has passed away.  He fell off the roof.

I'm so fed up with MLBaseball.  A World Series that doesn't start until the last week of October, games that don't start until 8:30 and don't end until 1:30, every year a wild card team makes the Series (such as 2004, when the SECOND PLACE Red Sox won the World Series)--I mean, why do we need a 162 game season if four teams from each league make the playoffs?  It not only undermines the filtering process of a long season, it forces the players to play baseball in 40 degree weather, NOT as God intended.

I'd have watched if it were the who-gives-a-damn-about-Cleveland Grinning Indians v. the Colorado Flying Squirrels.  Now I'm just seriously rooting for a game in Denver to get snowed out.  I can't wait to see Bud Selig shoveling snow.  He's been shoveling other STUFF on us ever since he's been commish after all, . . .

Tobacco has been banned in Major League Baseball, right?  Can anyone explain to me why baseball players spit so much?  Bud Selig, if you want to try and work your way back onto my good side, you can tell the teams that it's time to stop all that spitting.  Maybe it would cause the Fox directors to let the cameramen zoom out once in a while, so we can actually see the field of play, and not just the nostrils of the players and managers.

Screeners at airports not doing the job... Maybe TGP can clue us in.

You got the wrong Hobart grad.  It's the Rev who's letting all the shoe bombs pass thru PHX airport.  TGP works in a different explosive industry - aka the RMBS capital markets.

TGP already got his ticket to Denver.  Much easier than flying back to Boston for the WS.  Go Sox!!!

you got me PBR... gro would need a miracle to win in FF this week... good work.

also, not taking anything away from the pats... but Miami's defense was embarassing yesterday... specifically on that TD catch by stallworth.   Gro is going to send Coach King and the BIG STICK down to Miami to teach the dolphins how to tackle.

So should the NFL only have the Conference Finals and the Superbowl?
