Frank the tank fishing for bulletin board material by RPI posters.  Not gonna happen. RPI's season will play out just like everyone elses, on the field.

Besides, Coach Audino is skilled in fabricating his own bulletin board material when he needs some.  ;D

Gro, name your team's linebackers and D Ends this season without looking.

DE Ben Dover
DE Haywood J. Blowme
OLB Mike Rotch
MLB Hugh G. Rection
OLB Harry Johnson

Coach King will be somewhat shocked to hear that.  He must be playing his second stringers accidentally :)

Irony, of course, is that the BoSox played Colorado in interleague play this season, with Colorado owning Boston...Why should this series be any different, is my initial thought?  BUT, that's why they play the games.

June was a long time ago.  These teams are much different.  You can throw that series out the window.

The Flying Squirrels didn't have an 8 day rest period before that June Series, either.  This is obviously the best way to get the two best teams in the Major Leagues to play against each other.  Bud Selig is so smart.  http://www.tk421.net/gallery/sounds/smrt.wav

Actually, maybe we could improve on it.  Since there's currently unbalanced scheduling of both interdivisional and interleague play, it's hardly fair to let only one second place team play in the post season.  We should let two more second place teams from each league into the mix.

Reno is sort of right Pat.  About 7 or 8 years ago MLB decided that the teams would no longer be allowed to supply the players with tobacco.

Yeah.  If they're chewing or dipping its probably BYOT.

JT pretty much predicted gro would roll with these names.  The only one JT guessed wrong on was Mike Rotch.  JT had Holden McGroin at OLB.

Screeners at airports not doing the job... Maybe TGP can clue us in.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-10-17-airport-security_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip

You got the wrong Hobart grad.  It's the Rev who's letting all the shoe bombs pass thru PHX airport.  TGP works in a different explosive industry - aka the RMBS capital markets.

TGP already got his ticket to Denver.  Much easier than flying back to Boston for the WS.  Go Sox!!!

ISH. Sorry TGP. My bad.

frank...why not kick off the week and go through your updated playoff scenarios

Gro's distance from the city of Troy prevents him from having a good knowledge about the level of talent on the RPI roster. One can only take what he sees in press releases and even the webcasts with a grain of salt. A few years ago Gro could comment on individual RPI players because he knew them and had played together.

Just haven't seen enough of the engineers to know what the deal is.

I'm too busy trying to contact Mike Rotch for a hard-hitting interview.

Frank:

I've seen every play this year but me thinks parents of players should not comment on said team in public.  That being said RPI's schedule starts next weekend.  WPI will be a challenge, Rochester has been playing well and Union has seemed to get better every week.

Question for LLPP'rs: want to tailgate at WPI next week w/ family as this is as close as RPI gets to the Boston area.  I know WPI is a a small campus surrounded by residential areas.  Anyone with any idea of a spot to set up and enjoy pre/post game?

There's a parking lot (pretty large) in front of the main sports facilities.  Get there early and be prepared to share the area with WPI tailgaters.  It's basically on top of the hill behind the FORMER site of the Press Box (on top of the area where the players come out from the locker rooms -- look UP from there and that's the parking lot about which I'm discussing).

Hobart should feel somewhat better about Pool C potential.  If Hobart can run the table, including winning against Alfred, and finish 8-2, it may have some decent consideration for a Pool C slot.  What I termed as about 15% a couple weeks ago has increased, by my estimation, to around 25%, as there are only 41 one- or zero-loss teams (excluding NESCAC and NEFC) to compete for 30 slots (that excludes the one NEFC slot and the IBC slot, as there is a guarantee that the IBC winner will have two losses or more).  Ten of the one-loss teams face each other, meaning at least five of them will have two losses.

So, 36 teams for 30 slots with four weeks to go...pretty low by most years' standards, meaning two-loss teams should begin watching the national standings for some clues as to their chances.

Hey Tank -

Based on the past week(s) results, if (and that's a HUGE IF) Hobart runs the table, how are their chances looking for a Pool C bid now?

30%?  35%?

I'm going to go through the motions with all this tonight...Look for some updates in the morning...Short answer, though, is that Hobart with two losses and no Pool A bid is probably around 25% likely right now -- Rowan and Capital losing definitely helped matters.  Plymouth State still concerns me, however.
