Anyone else underwhelmed by the prospect of Mattingly becoming the Yankees' next manager?

Thanks Tank -

TGP can't see any other NEFC teams other than their Pool A winner getting any consideration for a Pool C.  That conference is just too weak.  TGP thinks it will likely be Curry and that's it.

Pap (can't see youtube here at work)?

Yeah, best line after the Sox won was the Fox on field reporter asking Pap if he had another dance planned.

Pap's response was classic:  "Yeah, I got something for ya kid"

In the truth in quoting department, I think he said, "Yeah., I got somethin' for ya Ken [Rosenthal of FOX]."

And since I seem like just a jerk for making that slight correction, here's some unusually entertaining moment from the other night on Bill Maher's HBO show -- for when you can access YouTube later... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzrUD-5hf1A

Frank the tank fishing for bulletin board material by RPI posters.  Not gonna happen. RPI's season will play out just like everyone elses, on the field.

Besides, Coach Audino is skilled in fabricating his own bulletin board material when he needs some.  ;D

Gro, name your team's linebackers and D Ends this season without looking.

DE Ben Dover
DE Haywood J. Blowme
OLB Mike Rotch
MLB Hugh G. Rection
OLB Harry Johnson

JT pretty much predicted gro would roll with these names.  The only one JT guessed wrong on was Mike Rotch.  JT had Holden McGroin at OLB.

Holden McGroin was moved to DT.

The Yanks need a guy that is good with both vets and kids.  Mattingly rates very high in the clubhouse.  George's various stages of incapacity is really worrying JT.  JT doesn't hold the committee of Randy Levine, Hal and Hank Steinbrenner in high regard.  JT has always thought of Levine as a weasly douchebag, and he proved it in spades last week.

Mattingly is quite capable in JT's opinion provided he has the right coaching staff (that he picks) around him.  The big problem he would have is following Torre.  Mattingly has no room for failure.

I tell ya what, Papelbon is a gem.  That dance after the ALDS and last night were instant classics.  He is a loose cannon and it is pretty funny to see.  Gonna be a great World Series regardless of the snow, sleet, rain at both locales.  If Colorado would happen to win 25 of 26 that would clearly be the best run in Sports History given the circumstances...

The Colorado weather might be enough to wake up MLB to the idea that November baseball should only be reserved for national disaster and mourning purposes.  It's "Mr. October" for a reason.

Frank:

I've seen every play this year but me thinks parents of players should not comment on said team in public.  That being said RPI's schedule starts next weekend.  WPI will be a challenge, Rochester has been playing well and Union has seemed to get better every week.

Question for LLPP'rs: want to tailgate at WPI next week w/ family as this is as close as RPI gets to the Boston area.  I know WPI is a a small campus surrounded by residential areas.  Anyone with any idea of a spot to set up and enjoy pre/post game?

There's a parking lot (pretty large) in front of the main sports facilities.  Get there early and be prepared to share the area with WPI tailgaters.  It's basically on top of the hill behind the FORMER site of the Press Box (on top of the area where the players come out from the locker rooms -- look UP from there and that's the parking lot about which I'm discussing).

Goes to show the Tank never tailgated at WPI.  Stimulator wants to park in the lot adjacent to the endzone, across the street. If you're standing on the side of the field with the pressbox, it's the lot behind the endzone to the right. RT believes this is along Rt.9 but not for sure. It's where the visiting fans tend to congregate. You can't miss it...it's the lot behind the endzone that DOES NOT have the baseball field behind it. Look for the RPI FB Alumni tailgate......

There's a difference between an "official" tailgate and informal ones -- and I think this parent was looking to do their own informal one.  And, as I said, the lot of which I spoke is mainly one for WPI tailgaters -- but there's plenty of room if it's scoped out early.  Either way, hope the parent enjoys the game.

(Edit:  And if memory serves, Senor RT ended up parking about 14 miles down the street from the Press Box the day he did the Hobart-WPI game for D3Cast...so I'm not exactly exuding confidence in RT's geography lesson of Worcester, MA :) )

Oh those are fightin' words from the Tank, RT...

Hey Frankie: TDT was watching a show last night regarding real estate and the individual neighborhoods of NYC.  Just curious where you keep your crib in the Big Apple?
