Dude, it is the World Series.  Much like the Super Bowl, real people can't afford to attend these events.  They may as well play the games in a TV studio.

They could do it in "The Price is Right" studio with each of the big doors being a base...and Contestants' Row being home plate.  INGENIOUS!  And they could call down the players at bat to Contestants' Row...Now that's how to get ratings without Bob Barker!

Unrelated but interesting tip.  If you ever go to the Price is Right, wear an Ithaca College T-Shirt.  The guy that picks the contestants is an IC alum and singles them out.

So, I assume if you don't want to win THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars in cash and prizes, wear a Cortland shirt?

TGP is not a real person.  That is why TGP is leaving tonight for Denver (tix in hand) and will be at Game 3 and 4.

Sorry, TGP.
You get what I mean though, right? Watching it on TV, we get Mr. COO and little dancing kid whose daddy is probably a limited partner.

If you were lucky enough to get tix and able to go to Denver, that's awesome, believe me. It's one more good fan cheering on the Olde Towne team.

I think I could die a happy man if I got to hear Rod Roddy (who I once met strolling around the IC campus -- and yes, he wears glittery suits when not on TV) say:

Ok Bob, Neal Heaton Jr. you ARE NOT the next contestant on the price is right.  In fact, Neal, CORTLAND, CORTLAND, YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU SUCK.

In 1994, a player on the football teams girlfriend won the showcase showdown with an Ithaca football shirt on!

(I think it said football, could have just said Ithaca College)

On the Price is Right they make you jump through hoops and do physical stuff to win cash, correct??

Thank God the show didn't actually test the individuals' knowledge for the Bomber grads.....

How did a player get on the football team's girlfriend?

Danny Noonan: I thought winning wasn't important.
Ty Webb:  Me winning isn't! You do!
Danny Noonan: Great grammar.

Yeah - the IC LA program did very well on Price.  Nothing like seeing the normal sh*tty apt of a buddy of mine full of a rediculous big screen and entertainment center.

In other news.  Congrat LLPP on the 2000 page mark.

Exactly.   Readingly always understand much.  Is easy for!  :D

Actually Jonny-U, I was mostly grateful for the opportunity to throw out one of my favorite lines from one of the greatest cross-generational, enduring sources of pop culture references.  Now which one of you is going to set me up for some stuff from the greatest pop culture icon generator of all time?

Actually, maybe it has already happened--the last time I took a smackdown from the Poobah.

. . . . sorry about that, Chief.

The fans came out of hiding once the Rockies actually made the playoffs.  MIYH went to a game in August, and hardly any seats were taken.  The organization wasn't really sure how to sell the tickets, but decided to make all tickets available online.  Then the server crashedon two separate occasions.  A couple of MIYH's students got tickets, but none were willing to part with them for an easy A.  TGP, let me know if you'd like to get together for a drink while you're in town.
