1st off, I think all the 2 loss teams are going to need miracles to get in, it just seems like that kind of year. Last year 2 very good 1 loss teams didn't get in.

IC's loss to wick wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for the wick/wnec debacle.  Same could be said for Union losing to Springfield on an off year.

Well Gro, what 1 loss pool c teams are even left in the East region??

union89

U89's ClownPunchers have Marion Barber, Clinton Portis & Kevin Jones on the trade block in LLPPSCFJFFL......U89's needs are wide recievers.

Gro hasn't looked at all the scenarios (sorry frank) but what are the chances a team like salisbury, wesley, or case western gets shipped over east?

In reality, gro is just being lazy and doesn't want to look up how many 2 loss teams have made the playoffs recently with at large bids.

Hmmmm, gro will have to take a look after work and see if there are any opportunities here...

Gro I think one of them will be in the east like past years, and if only one comes, that leaves 2 pool C teams.  Right now, heres what I come up with in terms of the only 1 or no loss teams in the east.....

Albright 7-1
Alfred 7-1
SJF 8-1
TJCNJ 7-1
RPI 7-0
Curry 9-0
Wesley 8-1
Salsbury 8-1
Plymouth 7-1
CGA 7-1

Now I dont think the second place NEFC team is gonna get a bid.   Take away the other ACFC team that might stay south (and Wesley already lost to Montclair) and either SJF or AFlred, and that still leaves 2 pool C bids for a 2 loss team (since SJF/Alfred have to play anyway)

So all these other teams still have a chance to either win the league or get a pool C

Hobart
Union
Hartwick
Cortland
Montclair
Ithaca
Rochester
Widner

Go to the general football/Pool C board and there is a lot of information about potential pool c teams.

Sorry U89, Applejack may call beantown home now, but he's a NY section II product.

That explains alot....with his easy going persona, is LD11 actually from someplace like San Diego??

(Enter Ron Burgundy line here..........)

Stay classy San Diego...

Prositute = Bitter Yankees fan.

A-Rod we hate you.  Leave now.  You're not welcome here.

I can't believe he would opt out.  How selfish is that?  Who wouldn't want to play in the Bronx?

Too much pressure for gAy-Rod.  He needs to play in a smaller media market.  I think he would do amazing in Kansas City.

I'd be careful LD.  Based on the rumors I hear from reputable sources, your beloved Olde Towne Team is going to make a serious run at having the purple lipstick wearer in uniform next summer.

TGP: How bout a breakdown of the trip to Denver for the Fall Classic?  TDT doesn't believe he's seen a full report for the LLPP, Inc.

Arrived Friday night late Denver time.  Went to the Pour House in LoDo and got loaded with a ton of other Sox fans in town for the game.

Saturday attended BP and sat in Sec 153 Row 1 (LF) for game time.  Freezing cold that Saturday night.  Was approximately 15-20 ft from Manny/Holliday the entire game.  After Sox win hit the bars in LoDo.

Sunday cured the hangover with a giant breakfast burrito at Dixon's.  Hit the 16th mall to get a few souveniers.  Attended BP again.  Pitchers and catchers were warming up about 10 ft from TGP's seat in Sec 147, Row 2.  Ellsbury's first hit in Game 4 rolled right by TGP.

As the game progressed TGP sensed the possibly of the Sweep.  TGP is a 30+ yr Sox fan so he was still waiting for something to go wrong for the Sox (the Oki giving up the HR in the 8th made TGP think we were in trouble, but Pap took care of business).

After the game, TGP worked his way down towards the dug-out and participated in the post game festivities with about 1,000 other Sox fans.  Chants of "Re-Sign Lo-Well" and "Don't Sign A-Rod" went on for several minutes.

Got to see the WS trophy and lots of champagne drenched players on the field with their friends and families.  Sox players sort of recognized the fans, but honestly, they kept most of the celebration to themselves and their families.

Took a few pix, but mostly just tried to take it all in.  Although the Sox are being picked again to repeat, TGP may or may not make it to another WS game.

Still, it was a surreal and incredible night that TGP will never forget.

'gro, they need to fill Pool C slots and there are not enough 0- and 1- loss teams to do it.  There have to be, likely, at least 3 or 4 two-loss teams in Pool C.

And Union isn't up for a Pool C bid, so the character of the loss to Springfield matters not right now.  Either Union wins Pool A, or Union has a third loss.

Maybe, but TGP would be shocked if Theo  & Co make that deal.  The Sox already have a 3rd baseman who was also a WS MVP.

Lot of talk here in LA about the Dodgers going after him.  Morena from the California Angels from Los Angeles and Anaheim may try as well.

Why does everone seem to forget that A-rod is not a 3rd baseman, he is a shortstop who was forced to play 3rd. That is probably part of the opt-out reasoning. I guarentee you whatever team he plays for next year it will be at SS
