RS.....look no one says you cant trade jabs here and poke fun...the regulars here do it often and have fun w/ it...

I am saying that I can't trade jabs here--I don't want to "dish it."

I don't understand your insult heirarchy--in my book, suggesting that a tranny "prositute" is the only woman person I could ever engage in sexual relations is not "below" mom jokes.  But if you keep it to football, I don't need to give a crap about the insult heirarchy.

RT would like to point out something to RS.....granted, it may seem people are all being pretty hard on RS for staying within his rights to discuss things on here, except maybe mom jokes. When RT suggested we stop talking so much baseball, the guru actually let RT know that this was a public forum and people could discuss what they want. So basically RS, you need to understand that you probably aren't going to get sympathy from the peanut gallery or the management. So the only course is to be a duck and let the water roll off your back and deal with what comes with the territory.

Perhaps you can seek some counselling to deal with U89's desire to put you on the "pay no mind list"

Why am I the only one who wants to act like a grownup?  I am not particularly moved by anyone's defense of the juvenile discourse.  I suspect the Guru, if he's consistent, also defended free speech to the E8 posters who requested that I be banned from posting on the E8 board. . . . banned for talking about D3 football too much--isn't that beautiful irony.

Oh, did I mention D3 football?  RT, if you were evaluating the Primary Criteria, would you advocate assigning priority to the individual criteria?

Far be it from me to answer for RT, but I think I know the only Primary Criteria to which he'd assign priority, although I'm not 100% percent sure which he'd place on top:

1) Jose
2) Jim
3) Johnny

LLFFL is rediculas.  LD11 is .500 and the only person close to him in total points in 'Gro.  LD11 has losses of:

12.01 to TDT (scored 114.60)
17.66 to AJ (scored 104.76)
34.75 to Gro (scored 105.83)
00.36 to Reno (scored 115.48)

I've scored under 100 once, in week 1.  Fantasy Football is garbage.  It's all luck.

Atleast in my $$$ league, LD11 is riding a 6 game win streak, holding a 6-2 record.  I love this addicting game, but I have gotten no luck ever since I began wasting all of my time and thought doing it.

it's beyond addicting... gro has been lost this season since the employer blocked FF sites.  Gro considers himself a good FF manager, and one lucky SOB.  Long live the yazz flute.

Frank... hate to get all lawyerly on your poll question, but gro voted that the game's date "has no effect on the rivalry".

Having it as the last game is awesome. It's where it should be. 2004-2006 were all great games, with 2005 possibly the best shoes game EVER (yeah even though the bad guys won).  It is definetly better for the fans as the last game.

But, having played in the days of the shoes in midseason, the rivalry was always intense. We had a bye week before union, but practice was harder than ever. The intensity of union week is off the scale. This is measured by the percentage of time Coach King's hat is worn backwards.

Normal Week: 22% hat backwards
Union Week: 87% hat backwards, I'm not even mad... that's AMAZING!

In closing... Shoes finale more intense?
Fans - Yes
Players - Not so much

That was a great answer, 'gro.  No need to provide a disclaimer for that.

I added a little more to my post about the intensity of union week. I think former players would agree.

This former player agrees.

Classic.  Is King the kind of coach that gets so revved up he tries to get into the drill and then gets hurt?

Has everybody had a coach like this sometime in their life?

"In the end we will survive rather than perish not because we accumulate comfort and luxury but because we accumulate wisdom"  Colonel Jack Jacobs US Army (Ret).

He would jump in but he wouldnt get hurt...  If you were just standing around that week he would likely Jack you up. Ox misses Union week.

There are a few things that turn Coach King into "The Kinger aka The Stinger" including but not limited to the following:

1. Stepping on his headset cord during the game (they have since gone wireless)
2. geting a personal foul
3. hiting the big stick like a wuss
4. Mentioning that you slipped, tripped, "didn't see him", or "forgot" after a bad play
5. Standing around during drills or conditioning

all of these action will get you JACKED UP.... there are others.

Maybe the funniest moment of IC football during my four years was a similar play.  Our KR brings the opening kickoff of the second half of the Jug game out of the end zone and gets tackled at the 2.  He tries to slink off to the sideline down by the 5 yard line.  From the box we can see our Special Teams coach sprinting towards the KR to rip his brains out.  The coach gets to about the 30 yard line when his headset cord, which was connectd to his belt somehow, pulls tight and the coach starts running around like a pit bull chained up in a junkyard.  Meanwhile the KR did his damndest to stay around the 20 yard line until he could get back on the field (he was the third down back).

During practice JT had made the mistake of getting the giggles when certain coaches of JT's were jacking up other players.  Or instead of the giggles JT'd roll out a funny line. Usually this led to:

1) JT getting jacked up (and if JT didn't wipe that smile off his face, JT had to do #2)
2) 3-4 qtr mile sprints in full gear.  :30 second rest in between.

Which used to suck cause the whole team would run 3-4 anyway.  One time JT had to do 12.  Sometime being a smart ass doesn't pay.

Subtle shout out to the folks in LLPP and E8PP on the Triple Take this week.  And it comes from across the country, no less.  See if you can find it.
