Fisher lost to Hartwick that's what happened, they would have been the #1 seed no doubt if they won like they should have.

Hobart is a tough draw in round 1 for Fisher, couldn't we have just gotten Curry??

They wouldnt have had Curry anyway, they would have had either Ithaca, Hartwick or Widener....

Yeah I know, it was just wishful thinking

U89...thanks for defending RPI's honor at Gepetto's. RT didn't realize that Paulie was so hard core...guess are money isn't good in Shocktown. Don't worry, we'll treat you right in Troy in '08.

"That lady" was Coach King's wife. Non-RPI fans don't get RPI victory cookies...that's how she rolls.

RT lost money on the roast but it was worth it....we'll do it again in 2008 but maybe plan for fewer people. This was a test run and the concept worked out.

...and tell Paulie to get some real plastic cups for the beer instead of those 5 oz. kiddie cups

At least you guys found some clean cup's.....did you see the first stack they handed to LD?  They were filthy with like week old beer still in them....You should have seen his face, U89 thought LD was going to take someone out....it was hyyyyysterical

PC explained to me that the Commmittee wanted to make the Top 4 teams in the country as #1 seeds.  They feel the map works for it this year.  Widener might argue otherwise.  There are some odd matchups later that these brackets create.  Not a fan of this at all.

More later, but congrats RPI.  Glad to see all of you guys yesterday.  Makes the LLPP a great community.

Hey Rev,

I already have a tin can ready to take care of your trip to Rochester.  Do not worry about the price!!!!
Gibby,

The Doughnut said that if Bart plays SJF, he will drive in from Ohio for the game.  It will be like a real reunion if we can pull this off.  Also, The Doughnut has also signed up for LLPP.

Better get those tickets Rev.  It's on in Rochacha.

So, short answer question...Who deserves the sixth slot in the ECACs this Saturday?

Union (5-4, beat Rochester head-to-head...no quality wins, but lost to undefeated Muhlenberg, mid-pack Springfield and NCAA teams RPI and Hobart)

or

Rochester (6-4, lost to Union head-to-head...quality win vs. NCAA team RPI, but lost to NCAA teams SJF and Hobart and mid-pack Carnegie Mellon)

Discuss...

My best and worst dreams come true.

For some reason The Rev thought we had a week off before play-offs.  The Rev was reminded last night of an all-day conference for the Coast Guard on game day.  The Rev (cough cough) might be sick and go see a doctor in Rochester that day.  The house call to Rocho is between $550 and $600 on Jet Blue.  Nearly $700 on U.S. Airways.  And $550 on Continental.

The Rev has to think about this seriously.

Is it worth it? (r) matrix

                 Hobart Wins                SJF Wins
Rev Flies           yes                             no
Rev stays          no                              no

25% chance of the ticket paying off.  But, if the ticket were to pay-off, it would pay off BIG.

Since the Statesmen have lost everygame The Rev has gone to since 2005, The Rev is also afraid of jinxing the Statesmen.

JT used to feel the same way with Mount Union, he almost stayed home in 1999.  Hobart will win a playoff game that the Rev goes to sooner or later

Well there is 9 pages of 'talk' since the big selection show.  I am going to post my opinion of the brackets and then go back and read everyone else's, so forgive me in advance if I repeat anyone's take or beat a horse that is already dead...

My first reaction was holy crap about Ithaca having to go out  to MUC's bracket...then I realized that the NCAA's had put MUC in 'our' bracket....WOW.

48 hours ago, IC was not even in, now they get a crack at their own little National Championship game in 6 days...WOW again!

So either the East was not good enough to get a number 1 seed, or the committee said enough is enough with MUC steam rolling its region every year and decided to send them to the toughest region top to bottom.  Either way, I think it is awesome for Ithaca to get this shot and it can only help the rest of the East get a good glimpse at what is to come in Rd's 2, 3 and 4.

If IC gives MUC any sort of game....and I believe they will, SJF and co. will have immediate confidence.  MUC, at a minimum, is going to have a mental and physical challenge every rd, that they don't get every week.  If the brackets stay true, MUC will have to go through IC, RPI and SJF...not exactly the substantially overrated OAC is it MUC? ?  ? ?

SJF got boned a bit by being 'rewarded' with a 2 seed, but yet having to play 'Bart.  Meanwhile, 'Wick, all the way down at 7, actually got a better draw with East play-off doormat Curry right?  I guess the committee gave SJF a bone with the home game, but 'Wick a bone (for having beat SJF) by playing the weaker first rd. opponent.

All-in-all....I am pumped about our region....I think the committee made a statement that the East is a force and that MUC should go 'out there' (although they will be at home) and compete with some new blood...and some top quality!

I hope that 'we' the East (E8 and LL) rally the troops and one of us takes down the mighty MUC!  I really will be pulling for IC and RPI (when you beat TCNJ), not only for SJF's sake, but because it would be awesome for our conferences and the East overall to make a statement to MUC and the rest of the D3 nation.

GO ITHACA!!!!!   GO SJF!!!!

GO EAST!!!

Calm down. MU is here because there is no clear-cut #1 seed in the East this year AND it can be pulled off geographically.

The travails of the East have been pointed out many times by the Guru himself.

The East is not viewed as strong, so instead of adding a 3rd team from the NJAC or moving someone from a pretty good South Bracket, they took the top dog and put them here.

Tags thinks you're full of 'ish.

The East is getting stronger each year, and they get a chance to prove that this year by being able to send our top dogs vs. MUC right in the region. Tags is willing to bet that we won't be seeing the 70-3 scores the've been putting up.
