So, short answer question...Who deserves the sixth slot in the ECACs this Saturday?

Union (5-4, beat Rochester head-to-head...no quality wins, but lost to undefeated Muhlenberg, mid-pack Springfield and NCAA teams RPI and Hobart)

or

Rochester (6-4, lost to Union head-to-head...quality win vs. NCAA team RPI, but lost to NCAA teams SJF and Hobart and mid-pack Carnegie Mellon)

Discuss...

Any news on the ECAC bids??

It's Pep's understanding that the Conference Call (assuming the committee members) was to be at 8 p.m. today. Announcement, according to the ECAC website, isn't until tomorrow, suggesting maybe at 12 noon.

The East is not viewed as strong

Tags thinks you're full of 'ish.

The East is getting stronger each year, and they get a chance to prove that this year by being able to send our top dogs vs. MUC right in the region. Tags is willing to bet that we won't be seeing the 70-3 scores the've been putting up.

If the East were viewed as strong, they wouldn't have sent the best team in the nation into our region so that another team in the north region would get a chance to make it to the final 4.

Or they wanted to see how strong the East actually is so they put them in to find out.

After a long, long sunday, Reg is back into the real world.

I am trying to go through everything chronically to remember exactly what happened.

Friday night was more of just an eat with the guys and MR, chill, and then head out for a little bit.  Some time during the heading out part, LD Reg and Gro run into the "Miller Lite Girls"  these are the promotional chicks they dress up in random referree outfits and they give out random promo items.  Well somewhere between the part of them giving us a t-shirt and a button that blinks, Reg thinks that we made them take 5000 pictures with random people.  At some point between the shirt give away and "Ok, give me two dragons"  LD and Reg found there way into their promotional stash.  Reg ended up with a hat, a shirt, LD ended up with dog tags, a ski hat and the girls personal bag...."But I told her I was taking it".  The bag was returned to the ML girls and all was well.

Saturday we started out great.  We rolled in a 10am and there was a pretty big spread with the pig roast, as promised.  Man that roast was delicious.  Reg must of had at least 4 sandwiches.  The BBQ sauce they had was delicious.  RT- thanks for the A+ hospitality.   It was top notch.

After the game Reg and MR headed straight back to Troy and didn't go to Gepettos.  Let me stop there-

What they hell is wrong with people that you aren't allowed into a bar that is located next to a local college because you root for the other team?  And secondly, why can't people be civil about a good game?  Are you kidding me?  This is D3 football....noone kicks people out of places for this type of crap!!  You are going to call someone out for going to "your bar"?  Don't they realize segregation was abolished in like 1950?  When Reg heard this story, he lost it.  I want it wrote up in the times union. (seriously)  That is horse ish.

Later in the night, we finally got out to the Ruck for the most delicious wings on earth.  Reg didn't have many, but I managed to smuggle some blue cheese and some hot sauce into my beer......delicious.
There were literally 8 people out in the entire city of troy, combined.  We went to 2 different bars, and besides us, 8 other people were out (not counting bar tenders or wing guys).  Somehow between LD and Reg hitting up the shuffleboard and relaxin, some random Troylettes come in and we ask them for a game (for a beer).  This is when it all goes downhill.  Some other RPI guys come into the bar and start with these guys (hey we beat Union) and they kid rips off his shirt and hat and starts yelling at the RPI guy in Borat telling him he wants to fight him. "I dont like....I want to fight!!"....hilarious!  Nothing happened and the night continued.  we packed up shop around midnight and headed home (there were people starting to show up around that time).

Made the trip home yesterday and slept alot.

U89 and Garnet- always good to see and beat you guys (thanks for the ML's and calling me out about my top-siders)

Did anyone run into HollaDawg?

So the PP regulars met at Gepetto's (said Union bar) for a couple of post game drinks and RT personally saw the crazy shizz that Reg refers to. RT wasn't there to gloat or start trouble...he was there to have a post game beer w/ the Post Patterns crowd -U89, Garnet, Frank Rossi, 'Gro, LD11, etc...
RT wasn't expecting the whole football team to start rolling in at 5pm after a tough loss. That's not how RT rolled...he went home and stewed. Anyway, all RT remembers is sitting on the barstool casually chatting w/ U89 on the game when he hears some random voice say "get rid of the RPI guys". Mind you, RT doesn't throw down anymore but RT also doesn't get pushed around so RT looked around to see what was going on.

Now here's where it takes an interesting twist....the vocal anti-RPI person in question was some MILF!!! If nothing else, RT was impressed that Union seems to have a bevy of cougar Union football fans. RT was pleased to see that but not pleased that she wanted any RPI fans removed from the premesis. Then, RT sees U89 engaged in conversation w/ the owner, Paulie, who tells U89 that "RPI fans aren't welcome in here". RT was like..."what the f#ck??...is this Selma, AL in 1961?? Where's the back of the bus so RT can go there??" RT was pissed...I mean, how old are we? Props to U89 for telling Paulie that the crew were his friends and were staying as long as he was there.

Like Reg says, this is D3 and while RT gets fired up about the rivalry as much as anyone, RT still has a day job and a normal life. We were having a couple of beers and having some social interaction. Other than some ribbing from a former RPI QB in 2006, Frank Rossi had no such issue at the Ruck. Anyway, the Gepetto's thing was bullcrap and RT shares Reg's sentiment.

StLarry wonders if Holladawg ws the guy getting into a fight on the hill during the game.  Was he wearing all underarmour screaming "We must protect this house"?

RT would like to extend a personal thanks to The Tank for making the pregame show happen from the tailgate. We had great interviews from both the RPI and Union programs. RT would like to especially thank his guests, Kurt and Ramses (former players), and Kevin Beattie, SID.   RT would also like to thank the Guru for making an appearance and providing his usual concise commentary and analysis.

RT- Honestly, when Reg heard the story he didn't even believe this happened.

I mean, honestly, if you guys were some random RPI jerks looking to start with Union people, that is one thing....but from what I gather, you weren't bothing anyone...and the fact you were there with Union people is amazing!

Oh well, I guess in times like that you need to take a deep breath and not stoop down to that level.  Reg is just glad he didn't have to witness this first hand.....what a joke.

Ok, enough, Reg is done ranting....

Ah ha, hush that fuss
Everybody move to the back of the bus

Damn, they chased you out of the Union bar?  That wouldn't even happen in the SEC.

U89 thinks he was actually hitting on the MILF before she went crazy......not sure though...U89 was in a bit of a fog from all the alcohol consumption.

Around 4:30, U89 resembled the original Frank 'The Tank' from 'Old School' when he got shot in the neck with the tranquilizer dart.
