No love for the East in the ATN.

PC even gets the last word in in his own articles... look at the surprises/dissapointments section.

That's why I'm hyper-critical of backward tiebreaker systems, flawed SoS calculations and systems, weird bracketing and poor officiating

All DIII ECAC and NCAC football officials suck.  Its science.

ECAC was about as bad as I've seen this year, JT.  They had several instances of mis-spotting the ball in Union games this year.  That's about as basic as it gets.

Most of them make me ill.  Many think they aren't doing their job if they don't throw a flag. Others don't have the balls to make a tough call. They should remove offensive pass interference from DIII.  JT hasn't seen anyone that has the balls to call it in years.

JT ref'ed from 1985 - 1998. Some of JT best games, he never threw a flag.  Youngest carded HS ref in the country at one point. Aced the NCAA exam three times, and never got the call.  Decided he'd rather enjoy football then deal with old boy politics.

And it was NCAC officials on the clock game in 2001 Rowan vs. Bridgewater.  Finally got all the names and addresses of the offending refs.  If I'm ever afflicted with a fatal disease, and Rowan hasn't won a title, I will go and punch each one in the mouth or piss on their graves.  Which ever is necessary.

You have a special place in FR's heart after that last paragraph, JT.  :)

We've both got a passion and appreciation for our club and DIII football. 2001 was the team that was going to bring the title back East.  Thought about publishing names and addresses on my site, but that really doesn't accomplish much.  I'll know where they are, got it set up so I'll know if they move or die.

After seeing the footage, PG doesn't blame you.

Cool. Great teams are rare, unless you are Mount Union. Everytime someone says Rowan, for all their success, hasn't won a title, I think of 2001.

Rowan ever get an apology letter from the NCAA?

Nope. NCAA officials were "sick to their stomach" while watching the tape, but once the refs leave the field, it is an official game regardless.

I understand that last part, but several leagues will send coaches apology letters, saying that the refs blew it and that they would attempt to ensure that such injustice would never happen again.  They didn't get that from the NCAA even?

I don't think Rowan got a letter, knowing how much KC Keeler liked hearing himself talk in the press, he'd have said something about a letter or an apology.

All I know is that schools can no longer supply their own clock operator in the playoffs.

Is it me or have our LLPP, Inc. bretheren from RPI been EXTREMELY quiet prior to the big NCAA game with TCNJ??

They're obviously all calibrating their slide rules for the special occasion!

LOOK!  There's RT and LD with theirs!

Part of that has to do with fact that LD, Gro, Reg et. al. have no one to play with with regards to TCNJ.  The NJAC is a virtual wasteland when it comes to active posters outside of Rowan.  You'd think with all the social networks on the web that football fans would post regularly.  There are very few regular posters in the NJAC.  Lot of newbees come and go from season-to-season.

If I'm the one giving TCNJ info to gro on the NJAC board, you know there's a problem.  The NJAC board can't seem to grow past its dozen regulars from year-to-year,

Just went over there....U89 sees what you mean...

It's hard for an NJAC'er to chime in to some degree.  I have seen all that I care to see from TCNJ this season (30-0 against Cortland), and I feel like I have a good idea of what they do.  But obviously I have not seen RPI, so I have no basis for comparison.

TCNJ will bring some heat, but they get a lot of their pressure from a combination of the initial push up front, and 2 lock down corners jamming the receivers.  So they may not necessarily have to waste a LB rush and leave the slot wide open.

It's a very interesting game from a match-up standpoint, and obviously both schools are fine institutions.  It is good to see how well they can compete regionally despite stiff entrance requirements.  Also, since they do not play each other, there is a certain uniqueness of this match-up which for my money makes it the most intriguing game of Round 1.
