dewcrew do you see TCNJ being able to handle/contain Roberston and the spread? I just notice RPI killing teams in the flat (like Union last week). Does TCNJ have the ability to do that?

Just for the record, I haven't seen TCNJ play. I have seen RPI, and I think Robertson and the rest can have some success against TCNJ and their defense. But I think this might be the closest game of the weekend (Either this one or SJF/Hobart)... it makes two teams and their strengths, IMO. RPI with their offense that scores 30 a game vs. TCNJ with their defense that only allows 14 points a game.

I've never heard RPI's wonderful broadcast team.  Should be interesting.

you're in for a treat. Kurt is really good at the PBP. The color commentary is... interesting.  If you tune in 10-15 min before the game you'll probably get a pre-recorded interview with the kinger.

need to go 2-0 for the LL tomorrow!!

Hey...wait a min!! RT and Gordon Mann are broadcasting the RPI/TCNJ game for D3football.com..and the feed is being picked up by the NCAA website. This is RT's first RPI broadcast....give us some love over Kurt/Bob...

RT... I'll be in attendance tomorrow... any possibility I could make an appearance in the d3football.com booth?  ;)

That's not my call but from RT's experience doing an NCAA game in 2006, the NCAA is pretty tight about media, credentials, etc. Also, RT doesn't even know yet where we're going to be. Me thinks it would be different if this were a regular season game....RT would probably say don't get your hopes up.

Fair enough.

Dew, did you get press creds for tommorrow?

Yes I did. I spoke with Kevin Beattie, the RPI SID, and I'm good for tomorrow.

Then you may be able to do something with Gordon and RT.  Like jump in on a halftime or postgame discussion.  Just play it by ear.

RT:

Sorry I missed your call earlier.  I'll touch base with you after work.

Dew:

You're welcome to join us at the half if you can find us.  We'll be in an academic building near the field, not the press box.  We have a unique broadcast vantage point because of the volume of media interest (four local papers, RPI radio, etc).

'Gro, PBR:

The game will not be broadcast by video tomorrow.  The NCAA and RPI explored that possibility but it didn't work out on the production end.  If the game would've been webcast, it would have been streamed through the NCAA website (free) as opposed to B2N (pay-per-view).  Teams aren't allowed to charge for videocasts during the playoffs.

The decision on the RPI video cast came mid-week, probably after TCNJ produced its weekly release.

LD-

I'm convinced we haven't seen Fisher play well since Ithaca. I feel that if the O-line gets off their A** and actually controls the LOS like they should be doing, Fisher will be able to control the game.

Alfred was pushing them around most of the game, and quite frankly it was difficult for us to move the ball on the ground. This cannot happen going forward, or it'll be over quickly.

Well that's the thing, if they haven't been playing well, what is different this week, other than it's the playoffs, against much better competition?  If one team plays poorly they lose.  If both play well, I don't think either has a distinct advantage and it could go either way.  If both play poorly, i'll take Hobart because they just seem to deal with adversity well year in and year out, and their coach has it together.  After the Fisher-Hartwick debacle, as i've read it, if Fisher is in a tough spot, he might poop his pants.

Amen, LD.  AMEN.

All that being said, Tags believes the O-line will finally live up to the hype and control the game.

Tags predicts this outcome:

Fisher  53
Hobart 10

If Hobart loses by 43 or more, LD can take a crap on my head after I drink excessively at the next Shoes game...That's all I'm saying.

That's against NCAA rules -- they require it to be offered for free through the NCAASports.com site -- that's why RPI isn't doing it.  Someone might wanna check on this one.

(Edit:  This is what I get for missing 5 hours here -- Gordon nailed it already.)

If history serves, you're on the breezeway of said building.  Head up the stairs on the far left end of the field as you approach the field from the main lot and walk toward the middle of the field.  That's the "old" press area from pre-press box days.
