Here's the video of the no-good-turned-to-good-double-ricochet-miracle-51-yard FG from earlier.  I'd be surprised if the refs really didn't use the Jumbotron to make the final call (although they claim they didn't).  Field goals need to be made reviewable, pure and simple.  Give deferrence to calls that clear the uprights to the officials, but a situation like this is predictable and needs to be reviewable for all parties involved.

And now in the bills/pats game another weird FG bounce...

ZA has a funny story that kind of relates to straight on kickers.  Many years ago, when my son was about 8 years old, ZA took him to watch a Union practice. One end of the field wasn't being used so we grabbed a ball and ZA showed his son how to hold the ball. ZA started kicking field goals from about the 10 and kept kicking them straight to about thirty yards out, never missing.

At the time, Unions kicker was in a slump and was having some tough times kicking in game situations.

After ZA kicked his fourth or fifth field goal (of course under no pressure to do so) a Union coach came jogging down the field to where ZA and son were.  ZA notices and tells son, "look a coach is coming to say hi to you".  The coach gets to us and says, "please stop kicking field goals".  ZA asked why.  The coach says, "my lineman are busting my kickers ass telling him, look, that old fat guy can kick field goals".

I thought I was getting a compliment until it sunk in that ZA was just called "old and fat".....

According to '57, you qualify to be the next TCNJ kicker, ZA.  Congratulations!

If he is short, fat and ugly...then yes he can be the next TCNJ kicker

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Hartwick had the ultimate fat kicker back in the day, and the video closeup of him crying tears of pure gravy after missing a potential game tying extra point against RPI (empire sports game of the week) will be forever etched in Gro's memory.

Caz remembers a fat barefoot Hartwick kicker missing a 20 yard chipshot that would have beaten Ithaca at Butterfield back in 2002.  The same one or is being jolly and roly poly just a general requirement to kick for 'Wick?

ZA would like to say that he is NOT short, fat, and ugly....ZA is mildly height challenged, stocky, and as handsome as Rocky Balboa after his first fight with Apollo Creed!!!

Congratulations to Cortland for a solid victory over Union on Saturday.  The Cortland defense played outstanding, led by Ben Nagle.  Four sacks, 5.5 TFL, and 3 forced fumbles.  Wow, what a day.  The secondary hit with authority, breaking up 8 passes and intercepting 2.  Vinny Aiello had 3 break ups on his own, including one in the first quarter which set the tone and discouraged Union receivers from coming across the middle with him in the vicinity.

I had a chance to meet some of the Union kids too.  Really nice kids, and I mean that sincerely.  It's pretty rare these days when you hear a player congratulate an opponent on a nice catch, or a tough hit, but that is exactly what I heard on more than one occasion from Union kids while shooting on the sidelines.  Audino runs a class program, and I wish we played them more often.  I'm not naming names, but there are a few teams we play every season who seem more interested in starting fights once the third quarter rolls around, when it is obvious they cannot compete with us.  I'm so tired of the trash talking and the shoving after the plays.  Cortland - Union was a straight up football game between two sides who respected each other on the field, and understood sportsmanship.

Let's hope we see each other next season in the NCAA's.

go to BestBuy...RT is in the market for the same. They have stuff from $179 up to $400. RT has narrowed it down to Kodak, Olympus, or Sony. To be honest...most have similar features. You'll want a minium of 7mp but Kodak has one that is 12mp, which is probably not necessary for what you want her to do (then again, maybe it is :)  )

The key for RT is picture quality and ease of use and transfer to computer. You also want to make sure it uses the standard memory card and has rechargeable lithium ion batteries. The viewing screen on the back could sway your opinion..Sony and Kodak have the larger ones. They all have video w/ sound, zoom, vibrate cancellation, etc. RT is more about compact size now because his 3 year old camera is a pain...just a hair too big to put in the pocket but looks stupid on the belt. RT's only comment is that his current camera is an Olympus and he's had to have it fixed twice.

RT is probably going to get the Kodak for 3 reasons...1)it has good reviews and reliability, 2)they invented digital photography and have been making cameras for 100 years and 3) RT is from Rochester and wants to stay loyal to his hometown company where family members have worked.

The net is...go to BestBuy and check them all out.

pbr got this one about 6 months ago and best yet...nikon is always rated at top and every review we read said this was the best camera for the buck. we went the slr route...for a few bucks more you get cases, memory card, etc...couldnt be easier to use...you can crop pix right on the cam etc...plus all the accessories and tripod etc....pbr highly recommends this route unless you want the pocket digital camera...(sorry guru if pbr posted something he shouldnt and understand if you delete the post)

Thanks guys - Tags really knows nothing about them but plays it off to FMTags like he's got it all under control.

Guru- don't delete it until, say, late tonight :)--- need time to look at PBR's link after work (stoopid work site restrictions anyway!)

tags first off figure if you want to go SLR route or smaller, flatter pocket digital cam. SLR is shaped more like the traditional 35 mm cameras but much lighter today compared to the old 35 mm. smaller, flatter cams are easy to pull out and take a quick shot. SLR take really nice pictures and now the nikon's have almost no shutter delay which was a big problem for a long time. mpbr couldnt be happier w/ the nikon just really comes down to which way you want to roll...

I'll live with the link.

My dad has had trouble with his Olympus.

Bobby doesn't know about the sony's kodak's etc....  Bobby has had various Canon camera's and they have served bobby and Mrs B well over the years.

As RT indicated, picture quality, ease of use, transfer to computer and size are the most important items. Battery life and screen size are close to the top also.  Don't get caught up in all the extra features, you won't use them.

Bobby bought online at the following links and was able to save some coin.

http://www.familyphotoandvideo.com/ (Bobby just tried the link and it was down, don't know if they are out of business)

Bobby's advise, shop at Best Buy/Circuit City, buy online.
