Frank Rossi

To the LLPP Brotherhood:

If you get the opportunity tomorrow, I hope you can tune in to the St. John Fisher Cardinals host the Curry Colonels in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs, Saturday starting at 11:45am EST, with kickoff at Noon EST.  Mark Robinson and I will bring you the action from Pittsford, NY, as the Colonels look to extend their historic run in the Playoffs, while the Cardinals attempt to get what many think would be a return ticket to Alliance, OH -- or perhaps another home game to try to win the East Region next weekend.

This will be an interesting game -- on paper, the Colonels are a good team, but a lot of questions still remain.  For the Cardinals, will the team get caught looking past Curry at home?  Tune in to find out -- and please feel free to send any questions or comments to rossif@yahoo.com during the broadcast.

Thanks to all, and enjoy those Thanksgiving leftovers this weekend!

Ok, JU wants to buy himself a few presents for Chistmas this year but needs some LLPP advice......

I have an IPOD, and an XM radio for my car (EXpress kind).  Now I want to listen to both in my house with some speakers.  Is there something I can buy that will play both?  I know both have seperate boomboxes you can buy, but is there one that both can plug into?

And I know there is a simple adaptor for the XM radio, but is the quality good enough with just the FM signal? (I dont like it in my car, I use the tapedeck).

I use the XM in my home and my car, and I think the sound quality is definitely good enough with just the FM signal.
Not sure about the Ipod stuff though.

JU - check out the Altec Lansing IMX2 -- Small profile, but pretty good sound for a small room.  You can use an input cable for the iPod -- it's a device native to the XM2GO devices.  Altec Lansing is a pretty quality brand for portable audio speakers and headphones.

Thanks Frank.

It looks like the XM3120 is perfect for what I was looking for, but Im still finding nothing that plays both the ipod and xm satellite....

I guess my ipod is basically the same as my PC, but Ive erased a lot of the music on my PC once I loaded my playlists onto the Ipod.

Most of these portable speakers have a generic "in"put in back that will let you plug your iPod in through its headphone jack -- with no loss in sound quality.  The same could be said for XM devices on iPod-native speakers.  Just look for an input jack in the descriptions, and you'll technically be fine in either case.

U89's main takeaway here is that Tags calls FMTags, 'dood'....

Good luck to all today, but especially TCNJ & Fisher.

pbr bought an external hard drive for all the digital/ipod music this way you leave plenty of space on your computer hard drive and if your ipod ever breaks you dont have to re-rip all your cd's again you have all the songs at your disposal...plus you can pick up external hard drives for cheap anymore.

EDIT...tcnj down 14-0 already in the first w/ 9 minutes to play sjf all tied at 7...

The Rev buys himself Christmas presents because he has no FMRev.

Staples had a SICK sale yesterday.  The Rev picked up a Tom Tom One (version 3) for $104.99+tax and a Samsung color laser printer for $99.

The Rev nearly bought himself a Fender Stratocaster yesterday also, but backed off at the last moment.  The Rev is currently trying to bury his sorrows.  He met a stellar gal Nov 3 and hit it off imediately. Went out for drinks later that week and had the most remarkable chemistry imaginable.  Met up a few days later and she was a completely different person with definite ex-boyfriend issues, and decided that I should suffer for what ever he did.

Thus, The Rev is back in his cave licking his wounds like the dog he is.  The Rev is kind of glad he found out early, but is also bummed out because until the flip-flop, The Rev had never met anyone he got along with so well.  Damn.

The experience had (still has) The Rev so bent out of shape that The Rev went running back to his long-untouched prayer books.  It's the only thing that can unbend The Rev.  But he still finds himself lying awake at night just thinking, "Damn.  WTF happened?  Damn."

So, anyway, The Rev got in touch with his inner woman and shopped himself happy again.

So this weekend, Reg had his in-laws and MRs bro and sis for the holiday week. (Tags +1k for the dood and the calling FMTags out)

One conversation stands out.

MR- "We are doing cranberry margaritas today, we got a bunch of stuff for them"
Reg- "that's cool, but what liquor are you going to use, we don't have any tequila?"
MR- "Oh we were going to use the Patron in the liquor cabinet"
Reg- "That's funny....no what are you really using?"
MR- "We are, you don't use it"
Reg- "Dood, that is a $50 bottle, you are on crack if you think you are going to use that in a Margarita!"
MR- "They make Margaritas with Patron"
Reg- "Only an A-hole would order a margarita with Patron"
MR's Mom- "I had one the other day w/ patron and it was good"
Reg- "Yeah why don't you go there and buy your $12 Margarita then, bc noone here is using Patron."
MR- "You are unbelievable"
Reg- "I can't even believe I am having this conversation, I'm going to the store, what do you want, gold or silver?"
MR's Bro- "1800 is a good tequila"
Reg- Gives a quick chuckle..."ok dude", drives to the store and picks up Margaritaville tequila ($17 750ml) calling everyone he knows asking them "would you ever make a margarita with Patron?"

The answer to Reg's question was best summed up by Gro-
"You use the cheapest ish you can buy- putting patron in a margarita is like smothering a filet mignon in ketchup!"

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

seriously, who even thinks about dumping a $50 bottle of patron into a blender full of margarita mix?

lewdogg11

I heard they fill bottles of Patron with Margaritaville Tequila at the Ruck.

Or like putting makeup and perfume on a RPI coed.
