And the big reason the Ravens lost in KS opinion, little Buddy calling off the dogs and going to a prevent defense.  Why coaches do this is beyond me, they should have kept going after Brady and forcing him to hurry his throws.

Stlarry was saying the same thing to his roommate last night about only rushing 3 for the majority of the last drive.  If you have a game plan that has worked, stick to it.  If you give Brady the time to throw, he will pick you apart, which he gladly did.  The defense had been playing with such a ferocity and attitude all game, give them a chance to finish it out like that.

Stlarry also thought that the holding call was a crock of ish.  It is one thing if they had been calling that kind of contact all game, but they had let the teams play for most of the game.  To make such a ticky-tack call at the end of the game like that is just poor officiating, no matter who is playing the game.  Stlarry also thought that the TD by Gaffney was bobbled, not like it would have mattered too much.

Props to Mcgahee, he had a monster game and gave the Ravens a chance to win it.

They quoted the rule on SportsCenter last night -- something like 5.1 (but NFL.com doesn't have a real rulebook on their site).  The rule states that only the head coach or the players on the field may call a time out.  Problem is, you're an official on the sideline watching the field -- how do you distinguish which coach calls the timeout with the play about to begin?  This is another reason to stop allowing timeout calls from the sideline inside two minutes.

Many sites are saying a deal is all but done, and should be finalized this evening. Tags will be severely pissed off if Ellsbury goes to the Twins in this deal --- There are many times you have to give up young talent for the short-term (see Hanley Ramirez in Beckett/Lowell deal), but you don't give away a 24 year old who played like he did in the 2nd half of the year, and has a world series under his belt. Ellsbury is the future, and sometimes you need to draw a line - hell, even the Yanks drew that line when the Twins were demanding Chamberlin be put into play. You need to keep this core of young talent together (Ellsbury, Pedroia, Beckett, et al) , and let them grow alongside each other.

Tags is going to personally call Theo and inform him that if the Twins won't settle for Lester, Crisp, and a prospect, he is to tell them tough ish, and to have a nice day.
