WOW!!!!!

Petrino just resigned at the Falcon's head coach to take the Razorback's head post......

How far does the Michael Vick fallout go??

So much for the Petrino/Arthur Blank love-fest last night on MNF.

Here comes a rant.....

Just another reason to start d1 playoff.  I mean its f'n clear as day that the whole process is unfair.  I mean these guys have board meetings in October to see what 5th place team they can have in a game that doesnt mean anything?  What a crock of crap and waste of time and money.

Being a BC fan, the part of playing in a "lower" bowl game doesnt bother me, but the fact that they have to play some crap team for the 10th year in a row that they will smack around does.  It's exactly the reason why O'Brien left in the first place. I mean, even if they beat VA Tech and played in the Orange bowl, that doesnt really mean anything either.  If you win, guess what you win?  Thats right, nothing.  Sure, a bunch of money gets divided to the conference and schools involved, but in the end you are still going to be a team that isn't #1.

Oh wait, are you telling me that you want people to fly 1000 miles to see a game that decides who is going to be the 14th ranked team in the country and no one is biting from BC?  Geeze, suprise frickin suprise.  Why the F would I go down to Jacksonville to see the "ACC" championship game between two teams that already frickin played?  Oh wait, were the tickets free?  Nope, 80 frickin bucks and a $300 flight and $100 hotel room for two nights in spectacular Jacksonville.  Why not have the game in TimbuckfrickinTwo so at least theres something exotic to see after the game.

Someone kidnap Miles Brand, shove his head in a toilet, and when he comes up for air, tell him that smell is what his d1 football system smells like.  Then shove his head back down there and have someone throw $100 bills at the back of his head and realy the fact to him that  it still smells like crap even though money is still comming to him.

See ya.

Quick note for PBR and the rest who are interested, re: CompUSA's liquidation and policies, starting Wednesday:

(From a Slickdeals.net user who works at CompUSA)

"...As most of you know, CompUSA has been bought by a liquidation firm. Their first order of business is to sell off most of what they can started tomorrow for a 20% off sale. I work there and will update you on the goings on with the liquidation. Many products will be bought out tomorrow during this sale. But... the liquidation signs stocked in the back currently read 20%, 30%, 50%, 70% and finally 90%. Depending on what the owners of the liquidation firm decide, these may or may not be put out through the end of the year.

...

The bad news is, most of these signs exclude computers and mp3 players.. So no heavy low margin mac computers/ipods/etc. I'm not sure whether these will be put out or not. But im sure they will all sell easily at even 10% off...

In any case, be ready for deep discounts on external hds, internal computer parts, accessories, software, games, etc.

ALSO, BEWARE -- IF YOUR PRODUCT IS TESTABLE IN STORE, ASK IF YOU MAY DO SO BEFORE PURCHASING, THERE ARE NO RETURNS AND ALL SALES ARE FINAL. TAP (replacement plans) WILL STILL BE HONORED AS IT IS THROUGH A 3RD PARTY.

Edit: It has been confirmed for me that both of the Jacksonville, FL CompUSAs are doing their 20% off sale, so I deduce it should be nationwide.

Thanks, and peace!

There are two CompUsa stores around me in Boston and both of them have turned to crap within the last 2 years.

JU, if you've never been to a Major Bowl game and the party that surrounds it, you should go.  It is worth every nickel if your team travels and plays another team that travels.  I'd reccomend Sugar for your first trip, incredible fun.

The problem is, D1A College Football never was about Nat'l Championships until the 80s and 90s when teams starting splitting titles.  It was more important to beat your rivals and win a bowl game.  Bowl games are essentially exhibition games.  You get to play a team you never see or have never played.  It is fun for SEC fans to hang out with fans from the Big 10 or whatever.

Trust me, bowl games are awesome trips.

I was talking more about the ACC Championship game than one of the major bowl games and the fact that the amount of fans a team will bring to the game is what really matters.

There is a lot of talk that the ACC game is moving to Tampa when the Jax contract expires after next year.

I have never been to Jax for anything other than the Cocktail Party but, based solely on that, it is a good city for a big football game.

KS always thought Jax was a good city to party in.  Saw VH there in early 84, that was a party and a half.  Lots of good bars, or there used to be.

If you like Zep check these out before they are taken down.

Has anyone noticed that Petrino is like the new Lou Holtz.  Leave a college program you brought respectability to for an NFL team.  Go 3-10 for your first 13 games and then bail on the team for the head coaching job at Arkansas.
