Re: the wave pics.. Stim back from Hawaii and vacation from hell.  Torrential rains, mudslides, what they call the Kona winds and 30-40 foot waves.. weather that has caution tape around the beaches ... stay the hell out of the water.  Oh yeah and they lost my bags and finally got the last one back to me 2 weeks after arriving back to the beautiful New England weather.

Those pics made me think of watching these 25-35 foot waves in Maui/Kauai hit the
lava shore and throw spray 100+ feet in the air..... my wife says what are those specks way out there?  Look in the binocs and its 2 guys getting towed in surfing these monsters.  Day after that Laird Hamilton has to resce his PW guy who cut his arm after getting pummled by a wave.  Hamilton swims to him rips off his shorts and ties a tourniquet around the guys arm and then swims a half mile in the surf naked to get the PW and bring the guy to safety.  http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/othersports/342446_page2fil06.html[

Assume most of you caught the belowabove.  Congrat's to Tim.  Hell of a nice kid as well as a very good safety.http://www.rpiathletics.com/News/football/2007/12/12/football121207.asp?path=football/url]

PBR...

its been huge especially on the north shore of hawaii....the pro tour has been there and a number of heats had to be delayed not due to lack of surf but rather it was too big...pbr's friend who lives there said its been as big as he has ever seen it and ridden the biggest waves of his life.

TGP has never had such great regular FF seasons turn into complete play-off turds in 2007.

In Yahoo league went into play-offs #1 seed (12-2) and team had lowest scoring output of season.  It's like all of TGP's players had a bye week.

Same deal in ESPN league.  #3 seed (8-5, winning 7 straight) and won 1st rd match up by 40 pts (120 total) then couldn't even score 45 this weekend.  Still mathematically in the 2nd RD game, but need a miracle from C Taylor (20+ pts) to pull it out.

WTF?!??!

As an aside, TGP got to see Tiger Woods up close this past weekend at the Sherwood CC.  Very cool.

yes pbr's been there...2 years ago when pbr was there it was one of the all time largest waves that have ever hit...watched kelly slater and several pro's break board after board as the pro tour was in town for the eddie aikau tourney....bonzai pipeline was cranking at 20-30ft. barrels steaming in....waimea bay and all along the north shore was breaking at the largest levels seen at that time (until this year...)

Tags had the opportunity to see it a few years back himself - Tags isn't a surfer, but it was really amazing. We were there when they had some events taking place... good stuff.

aaand perhaps a hot chick or 35 :)

TGP and wife visited north shore of oahu the year b/f we tied the knot.  Stayed at a place not far from the Polyponesian (sp?) center.  2 bedroom joint with yard and walking access to the beach.  It was pretty sweet.  Enjoyed snorkling in Shark's Cove and swimming with the sea turtles.  Even played a round of Golf on that Palmer course near Turtle Bay.

Didn't think there was much better places on earth than the North Shore until we hit Kauai and Hanalei Bay.

Fortunately not a bad trip from SoCal to the Islands.  About the same as going back east, just that the destination is a whole lot more relaxing!

Reg has his savings with a financial advisor....so far, after 7 months Reg is up maybe 1% (I went in with this guy in May).....

Seeing everything that has happened in the last month, is Reg allowed to choke slam this cat since I could have made more in my money market account or do I let him keep doing his thing, knowing I am looking over his shoulder everyday for the next few months?

Either way, Im very upset... Mybe a choke slam would make me feel better.

PBR, where are you licensed?  Can you show Reg the money?

Well, I'd need more background to advise here -- i.e., why did you pick this advisor?  Did he analyze your risk tolerance?  Does he think Google is just 1 followed by 100 0's and Apple is just a fruit?

I picked him because he works for ML.  They take 1% and move the money around instead of picking one set of funds and riding it out until I am 90 years old.  Seemed to be on his game when he was here and on the phone.
I think they all analyze your risk and you end up with the same portfolio anyways.....

I may just have him pull everything into a money market and keep it there until I figure out my next steps.

He works for Miller Lite??  U89 may need to talk to this dood.........

Reno, congrats on whuppin' my behind.....take down that Yazz Flute character.........

Maybe Garcon can join Pacman and become a tag team.

Hey now!

Tags has first dibs on Garcon in next year's NFL fantasy draft.

no need for reno to take down that yazz flute character (pbr did that...) U89 gets the yani a.k.a. yazz this week for third place

'gro

the only thing good about 3rd place would be by beating U89 again.

PBR...

its a titan battle again of rpi vs. union on the ol' 86....

lewdogg11

LD11 managed 11 points out of Chicago's D last night to win in his $$FFL by 1.65 points to get to the finals for the first time in history.  LD11 already won one of the divisions in the regular season.  It's house money now, and LD11 is playing for the big payoff against the perennial champ.  Hopefully Brady and Moss play slightly better this week and there isnt a blizzard....
