AUPepBand

In deference to the RPI Pep Band and any other bands from the LL, Pep is widely distributing the following message:

Pep would like to put to rest right here and right now any rumors that the Alfred University Pep Band was named "D3 Pep Band of the Year" for the 2007 season. To Pep's knowledge, no such recognition exists.

Pep has been approached by several persons in recent weeks who have congratulated Pep on the AU Pep Band's winning a "national award."

Pep would also like to state as a matter of fact that the band never was named "ECAC Pep Band of the Week," contrary to what one may have heard announced at an AU football game at Merrill Field. Once again, Pep is unaware of any means whereby pep bands earn honors during the football season.

It was all a hoax!

There, now Pep feels much better. Confession, indeed, is good for the soul.

Merry Christmas....and stay tuned!

Happy Holiday season and best wishes to all... especially RPI guys!

Went with my son to the gym yesterday.. lady looks at my hat and his sweatshirt and says "RPI huh... my son went to Union" "Do you play any sports?" she asks my son.  He says "yes FB"   She says "Oh my son played FB at Union".  I tell her you know they are the arch enemy...She says she knows... all about the shoes game and the rivalry.

On our way out the door I catch her eye and shake my head.... she looks at me quizzically.  I just say "Union.. too bad" with a smile.  She says "and happy holidays to you too!!"

u89,

Don't think you're going to catch MIYH in the Pick 'Em contest, but you did pretty well in the morning games.  Hope you had a little parlay going.

Came crashing back down to earth in the 4pm games bro'.....one more week for U89 to continue to prove his lack of NFL knowledge.

U89 is 'Ballin on a Budget', so he can't afford the $10 for the fancy scoring system from Yahoo.  U89 has a creepy suspicion that he bitchslapped YazzFlute for 3rd place in LLPPFFSCFJ's.

'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even U89's computer mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that ST. Guru soon would be there;
The Futchmen were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Shoeapalooza danced in their heads;
And Mrs TGP in her 'kerchief, and TGP in my Hobart cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
TGP sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window TGP flew like the Rev running to get his flask,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the creast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the luster of supe57 to the objects below,
When, what to TGP's wondering eyes should be,
But a miniature escalade, lead by a large contingent of the LLPP,

With a little old driver, so lively like Sulu,
TGP knew in a moment it must be St. Guru.
More rapid than Enginegro eating Ruck wings they came,
And St. Guru whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now, PBR! now, JT! now, Tags and LewDogg!
On, Dewcrew! on Reg! on, Rossi and RedTackle!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now Holladawg! Holladawg! Holladawg all!"

"As dry leaves that before the wild '86 field fly,
When they meet with a Boswell, or Butterfield to the sky,
So up to the house-top the LLPPers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Daily Doses, and a K-Mack ATN too.

And then, in a twinkling, TGP heard on the roof
The ballin on a budget of each LLPPer drinking 80 proof.
As TGP drew in his hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Guru came with a bound.

He was dressed all in D3 gear, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of D3 prognostications he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
Although LD said he had smoked all his stash,
TGP thinks he'd cough up some if shown the cash
St Guru had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And TGP laughed, in spite of himself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know TGP had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
Laying his finger aside of his nose, he said "It's Science"
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a shout,
And away they all flew downing their Guiness car bombs and the rest of the stout.
But TGP heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."

Yazz Flute - 129.04

Clownpunchers - 111.64

Make that 3 in a row over U89.  Gro wins the coveted 3rd place game, AGAIN.   Bronze medal ceremony at Tino's (we'll be done before PBR or Reno has their championship party)

Merry Christmas to all who read and post on the LL and beyond.  We are in our second Christmas in Japan and last night, after church, we stopped at a convenience store and an older Japanese woman came out of the back and said in very clear English - "Merry Christmas."  What a thoughtful touch from someone who is likely either Buddhist or Shinto or both.  Just a small vignette to help those reading this posting better understand the Japanese psyche.

Sometimes it is nearly impossible to believe all the horrible things done by the Japanese during the war years given the way they treat me and my family in the present.

The best thing to consider is -  people can change so there is hope for the world.

Best wishes to the Warriors as they interview someone to follow The Legend.

Go Warriors!

Merry Christmas - Happy New Year!

KS noticed some CT and a possible nip slip on number 10, KS would like confirmation.

KS.

I shall answer your request for confirmation in the words of the Air Force General in the movie "War Games."

"Confidence is high, I repeat confidence is high.  Flush the bombers.  Get me the President on the line."

I think we have a sighting, or at the very least, an emergence of a sighting.

Additionally, there are a variety of CT sightings as well.  I guess you have to put people in the seats somehow and since the KNICKS are a terribly product these gals will have to do.

Funny, I thought it was about hoops all this time, too.
