Yes, she gets a little fiesty once the D3 football season is over -- and with her body, you now know why I get quiet in the offseason.

superman,

To run the option, you leave one man unblocked.  Now that unblocked guy is going to be responsible for the QB first, and pitchman second, as I believe all NFL teams would "slowplay" the option runner.

Slowplaying is when you make sure the QB does not run at anycost and that you make him pitch it.  Now you dont attack him either, you wait as long as possible (slow) to make sure the rest of the defense has time to pursue (and get off blocks) and help out after the pitchman.  So Young would never really be a threat against an unblocked OLB or SS, unless that player is confused (as he might be not seeing any option that much in the nfl.)

So now basically all you have is a outside runplay that the entire defense reads right away becasue the QB is heading in that direction right away.  There are some other factors as well I would say.

-NFL CBs will beat NFL WRs on run blocks more often than not giving them time to defeat blocks and come up and make the play as well.

thank you that explains it very well

Utah, U89 can't figure this line out either....pretty much a home game for the Tigers.

OSU defense is completely filthy though......looking forward to the game.

Yea this line is like a insider stock tip that you just have to use.....

And I dont want to bring up the old "big ten is too slow" gig, but Illinois and some other big ten teams thats had some speed really gave OSU a good game.  Then after that Georgia game, my head gets swelled with SEC teams again.

Im goin with the Tigers big tonight.

The Rev spent the weekend in Costa Mesa (O.C.) California this past weekend and froze his twig and berries off.

TGP--WTF? I thought you guys were supposed to have good weather?

P.S. Sorry for not calling. The Rev was busy playing peter-deep pirate at the Hilton.  Next time The Rev is in Sector LA/LB (San Pedro) The Rev will call and we can put some Nector of the Gods down our gullets.

Additionally, no NFL team wants to let their marquee QB out on the edge facing either a DE or OLB who is about to crush his sternum as he pitches the ball wide.  Marquee QBs are hard to come by and you win or lose often in the NFL depending upon how well that position executes.

If your QB has snot bubbles coming out of his nose it is hard to make that deep read and throw.

Teams that have had a player athletic enough to run the option like Kordell Stewart, Ray Lucas or Antwaan Randle-El have occasionally run it. Usually as a trick play that will get into a coordinators mind.  The Steelers were very good at faking the option with Stewart.  I believe they liked to show option and then run a reverse, get the OLB and DE pursuing one direction and go the other way.

PBR-

Reg was fortunate enough to get his money into a money market account when I was even.  Would you mind letting Reg know when you think we have hit bottom so Reg can get the MM money working for him.

My FA always seems to think that "we are still looking bullish".  Ahhhh, ok buddy.

absolutely reg...going to be awhile yet(possibly end of next summer)...lots more pain yet...here  is a tidbit from one of my companies writers on bill gross's comments on credit swaps..(granted he isnt the be all end all some make him out to be but he is very good at analyzing...)

Jan. 8  -- Credit-default swaps, used to help
protect against the risk a company won't pay its debt, may cause
losses of $250 billion this year, helping send the U.S. economy
into a recession as corporate defaults rise, Pacific Investment
Management Co.'s Bill Gross said.
``Credit-default swaps are perhaps the most egregious
offenders'' in today's banking system, Gross wrote on the
company's Web site today. ``Our modern shadow banking system
craftily dodges the reserve requirements of traditional
institutions and promotes a chain letter, pyramid scheme of
leverage, based in many cases on no reserve cushion whatsoever.''
