Don't know if any LLPP'ers have seen this wooden spoon gag, but it gave JT a laugh:

Some construction workers may have fallen from the new Trump tower going up in Soho across the street from JT's office.  All hell is breaking loose.  One guy is already covered with sheet... it doesn't look good.

PBR...

ny post is confirming at least 1 killed...

JT

Cement was being poured. The cement fell from the crane and it sounded like an explosion.  It looks like it fell from the top and swept the workers with it.  People have been complaining about falling ish (breaking windows/hitting cars) for the past couple of months.  Quiet now... but crawling with investigators.

Do we know what happened? Haven't read anything on it yet. That's no good.

C'mon PBR -

Paterno's probably done the same thing about 20x over the years at PSU - although TGP will admit it's a lot easier to get into trouble in DTLA than in Happy Valley.

Pete was doing what any other big time coach at a national power program would do.

This Lake guy is just on a vendetta b/c he lost his meal ticket when Reggie got wise.  Lake is a scumbag who tried to take advantage of a poor, dumb kid from San Diego who didn't know any better.

PBR...

nah...the one thing joe really would not stand for is cheating against the ncaa rules by his coaching staff he is adamant that his staff never even comes close to the gray areas....although pbr wants to hear pete's side of the story granted this is only 1 side. lets hear what pete has to say... me thinks the lawyers have duct taped pete on this one and wait until they see what facts this dood shows.

Jose or Frank might have something to offer on this.  Destruction of state property is usually dealt with harshly, especially if they can come up some type of value.

All the news whores and their trucks are milling around.  The side street is closed.  JT has to walk around to the back elevator.  Trump is trying squeeze a 55+ story luxury tower on what use to be a small parking lot.  They are on like their 5th crane operator because they've been hitting nearby buildings and dropping ish.  This was bound to happen.  A building of this size shouldn't be built on this space.  No one in the neighborhood wanted this eyesore, because its too big for the area and will just raise local rents.  But since Trump has NYC muckity mucks in his back pocket, he pretty much gets what he wants.

JT was stopped by an ABC reporter while grabbing lunch.  JT said:

ABC guy:  What do think about what happened here yesterday?

JT:  Well, you really can't blame the construction workers.  Its very tough trying to put up a skyscraper on such a small lot.  I'd blame the Trump organization and its designers.  I know Trump thinks that everything he builds is some great contribution to society, but this should have either stayed a parking lot or become smaller industrial space.

JT's not sure if the following was sound bytie enough.  It will probably wind up on the cutting room floor.

Not sure about the law in WV but I would guess this is closer to a violation of an open government law than a problem with destruction of state property.  I would think the most serious violations pertain to academic records or discipline records but those can probably be reconstituted somewhere else.  I think it will be hard for the state to prove it suffered economic damage as a result of the destruction of weightlifting records, etc.

More likely this is plead into WVU's contractual suit against Rodriguez.  In all the employment contracts I draft, I always include a clause requiring the return of all company property and information.  Richy is in breach if WVU has a similar clause.
