This game will haunt the Pats for the rest of their careers.  Even if Brady ends up winning another SB (putting him into the Montana, Bradshaw category - although you could argue his losing SB42 will always keep Brady out of that "best ever" argument), more people will remember this loss than perhaps any of the other wins.

Kinda sucks, but that's how history often plays out.

Brady should already be considered one of the best.  Jimmy Johnson, a great talent evaluator called Brady the best QB he's ever seen play.  When Brady gets that fourth or fifth ring it will be cemented.

The Giants just looked a lot looser than the Pats.  Giants played with nothing to lose and the Pats played with everything to lose.

JT had no problem with hoodie bouncing after he hugged Coughlin, but the utter disbelief on Billy B's face and the anger... JT was like "hit 'em... hit 'em" during the postgame, hoping he'd drop the mike jockey.

JT likes underdogs especially when one of his teams' is the underdog.  Made some nice coin on every step of the playoffs.

The downside is that JT would like those 1972 Dolphins to shut up. Now that ain't gonna happen.  They played only two teams with a winning record.  And stop interviewing the 70 year old kicker... he's no football player.  He's a kicker.

With a 40 year old backup starting most of the season and having to go on the road to Pittsburgh in the AFC championship game because of the way the playoffs were set up back then.

The 72 Dolphins will keep talking as long as ESPN keeps sticking a mic in their faces.

That was the big upset.  Caught Pittsburgh right on/just before the Steelers' rise.

TGP agrees with JT that Brady is one of the best, but prior to this game, there were lots of reports asking whether Brady was the "best ever"?

Don't get TGP wrong, Unitas and maybe one or two guys probably should be above TB in the "all-time greatest" discussion, but this game will hurt Brady's legacy to some extent since neither Montana or  Bradshaw lost a SB when they were QBs.

funny thing is the 73 Dolphins were better than the 72 Dolphins, the defense got nastier.  The Dolphins may well have won 4 SB's in the 70's if not for losing Csonka, Kiick and Warfield to Memphis of the WFL.  There were only three teams in the AFC in the 70's.  Dolphins, Steelers and Raiders.  The Colts and Broncos were good teams but did not sustain dominance like the big 3 did.

pbr was a non believeer in the '72 fish but saw mercury morris interviewed and he made some interesting arguements...they lost griese for 11 games that year...if you take brady away for 11 games are the  pats undefeated? pbr doesnt think so...fish led the league in scoring that year as well as just about every offensive statistic...heck 2 1,000 yard rushers(morris and csonka) and another 1 over 500 (jim kick)....and they led the league in just about every def. category scoring etc....griese didnt come back if pbr believes until the second half of the afc championship game. pretty impressive stats...you can argue they didnt play top teams but their stats in just about every category speak volumes.

that being said pbr doesnt like this team as they stand around and beat their chests on camera whenever possible and is tired of hearing from them.

For Johnson to pick Brady over Aikman, Elway and Montana says a lot.

One interesting sidelight that is receiving scant attention is the NY football GIANTS motivation from LtCol Gadson, a wounded Iraqi veteran and former ARMY football player.

My read, the season turned around for the G-Men when they realized how important it was to play for one another and how fortunate they were.  Lessons they learned the night before the third game against Washington.  Plaxico Burress deposited his TD football in Colonel Gadson's lap and they never lost another game when he was on their sideline - including Green Bay!

As a Naval officer - I salute this heroic and determined American.  Bravo Zulu!

Way to go G-Men.  18 - and one Giant loss!

Word is Gadson is getting a ring.  They saw him with his new legs and standing at the Tampa playoff game ( he lost his legs to an IED ), he had always been in a wheelchair before.  Gadson was at every playoff game, including the Superbowl. Osi has said, "If he doesn't get a ring, I'll give him mine."

JT is going to avoid the ticker tape, because he'd be forced to stand with all the riff raff in a bad location.  JT was able to get a VIP pass to the Superbowl celebration at Giants stadium this afternoon. Should be good.

Reno has seen all those guys play.....and to the naked eye believes Brady is best.....but if you were to compare SB Stats its not even close-

Brady's 4 SB's- 3-1 record 8TD's 1 INT
Montana's 4 SB's- 4-0 record 13TD's 0 INT

Speaking of Bobby Knight, now that he has retired, maybe he can start doing his golf show again.  Oh, if only he would. :D
