PBR...

put on your crash helmets llpp'rs boy could it get ugly in the markets for the next 6-12 months...as paulson  put it at the hedge fund managers annual meeting yesterday..."we are only about 1/3 of the way thru this mess and the worst is yet to come. its not out of the realm of possibility that only the great depression could end up as a worse time in our history..."   this is from a guy who made billions in seeing the subprime crisis coming and shorting all the corporate debt out there

We've temperatures around 115F for almost a week and the weatherman says it's going to last for a few more days.

The Rev thinks he should get out of the airports business and get back into teaching.  He wants his summers off to escape the heat.

This place is ridiculas.

So what do we do with this whole market thing?  Wait or get in?
I mean, come on, how much lower is this ish going? Are you thinking under 11,000?

If you were Reg, what would the "get it" time be?

Perhaps you could create a CD of the back posts from the LLPP and sell them as souveniers.

Commemerative LLPP CDs.  Then all the fellas can go back and pull messages form the archives.

Either that or have our messages turned into a Broadway production.  LLPP - The Musical

It'll be just like Camp Rock, only much worse.

The last remaining posts of holladawg will be looped off the database so until next time holladawg...reg re: economy pbr has very grave concerns. in all seriousness pbr is not liking what he see's overall. in past downturns we had the housing market and/or credit lines to get us out of the economic downturn. now we have neither and a economy that is slipping in the tank. the housing market is blowing up and banks are giving no credit what so ever. in fact banks are now canceling unused lines of credit for no reason other than they arent being used and dont want to extend out right now. As john paulson a solid fund manager who predicted the subprime mess and made billions shorting everything said last week     ``We're only about a third of the way through the
writedowns,'' Paulson, 52, told the GAIM International hedge fund
conference in Monaco today. ``There are a lot of problems out
there and it will continue to be felt through the year. We don't
see any signs of stabilizing.''      The U.S. is heading into a recession as falling home prices
weigh on consumer spending, Paulson said. The second half of this
year will be worse than the first as the economic slowdown spills
into 2009. Signs of stress are ``accelerating'' in the housing
market, and he's betting on falling securities prices, he said.

more from the top money managers at the conference...
``It's all bad news on the horizon,'' said Maria Boyazny, who
oversees a $3 billion fund that invests in other hedge funds for
Siguler Guff & Co. in New York. ``This correction is going to be a
long one. It's a recipe for disaster for credit markets.''
Edward Altman, a professor at New York University's Stern
School of Business who has tracked defaulted debt for nearly 40
years, said an impending wave of defaults could be the worst on
record in the U.S., at 16 percent of corporate debt.
``It may be the worst recession since the Great Depression,
that's not impossible,'' said Altman, who estimates default rates
on U.S. corporate debt have tripled so far this year from record
lows last year. ``There's a lot of negatives out there.''

pbr is considering putting his money in his mattress at this point....bottom line is it aint good and going to get a lot worse

P.S. if any llppr's have money burning a hold in their pocket and need to take a long position somewhere pbr advises going w/ refinery companies...they have taken a huge hit over the last 18 months due to profit margins and oil is going to ease back and put these companies back in play profit wise. they havent kept pace w/ oil companies and are due for large profits... companies like valero, tesoro, calumet ....to further back pbr's assertions HINT: just look at the insider buying

But the banks still keep sending out the mail to KS telling him he has been pre-approved for up to 15,000 K or whatever the amount du jour happens to be.
