You went to Ithaca.....you may have heard it on the evening news, but U89 highly doubts you READ anything.

I apologize unreservedly.......couldn't help myself.....tried, but couldn't help it.....

My "guys" were the Rugged Rams of Amsterdam High and as far as I know, Fisher has never beaten them.  Auburn, Colgate and the Trojans of Troy State University (alas, now simply Troy University) are  the college football teams I follow.  I know some kids on the UR team, know some at Utica College and probably a few others. As far as UR's commitment to football, having seen one game, I can't really comment.

And I'll work on my quoting if you work on you sentance structure.   :)

A. Tags has a college buddy who played for Amsterdam, AJ Sainato.
B. Not to be a prick, but isn't it sentence

DAMN!  They need to put spell check on this site.  Doesn't speak highly of the Amsterdam edumacational system.  In my defense, I only promised to work on my quoting.

The name doesn't ring a bell but I'd bet I was a little before his time.

Fellas fellas... let's try to be civil here and not run off the only poster from UR.

And how did Amsterdam, NY become the six degrees of post patterns?

For any fans of the HBO hit "The Wire", they used to call a certain area of Baltimore, "Hamsterdam"

For a while Reg referred to everything as Hamsterdam.  Since Reg once lived near Hamsterdam, Baltimore does that count as my 6th degree?

Hey JT, give the political crap a break will ya?

Fine.  Strictly business then.

JT's not sure how to read the markets right now.  Too many things to settle. Now we have the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae potential bailouts. JT has been most on the short side of the market when he plays.

Business wise JT's been getting mixed signals.  Since his primary income comes from making marketing materials for clients, he's seen sales gains in Pharma, and luxury items (travel, expensive sun glasses etc.), but slight losses in Finance marketing.  JT thinks that his finance clients are unsure how to market themselves in this environment.

Doom and gloom media hasn't helped our economy lately. But if we don't have any more major bad news, I don't think any recession will be long or deep.

Two things that we must do is lower gas prices and get the dollar up.  Drilling would accomplish both.  We'd be telling the world that we are going energy independent and we will be putting more supply on the market in the future. We'd get more oil in varying degrees from 1-10 years. We also need to build more refineries and nuclear plants (something that hasn't been done in 30 years).  France gets 78% of their electricity from nuclear and sells excess to the EU.

Drilling leases would be a boon to the individual States and could be used to finance cleaner energy technology sciences.  Energy independence would shift the US trade balance dramatically raising the value of the dollar.

The mere act of drilling would lower gas prices now.  It may actually force OPEC to increase product over worries of losing its best customer.
