JU, you may have seen this already.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Only 1 month until Tags takes the plunge into married life, and only 2 months before relocating to Houston. Does life ever slow down???

EDIT:

Ok, that didn't work out so well. Caption reads:

"Exuse me, may I speak with you? I asked you to cut your hair, you said you'd cut your hair... I could set the building on fire..."

yea if Torre (or any of dodgers management for that matter) thinks they can get Manny to do anything he doesnt want to do, they are in for a rude awakening.

The best that you can hope for with Manny is that he produces for you this year (contract year) and then plays 80%+ for half of the multiyear deal that he is going to get.  Because you know that if you sign him for 4 years, the last two he will fake an injury or strike out on purpuse in hopes for the team to sign him to another new deal.

(as you can see, JU is still sick from the Manny situation)

Saw Tropic Thunder... pretty decent flick.  Many funny moments.  Some slow parts.  Beginning trailers very funny.  Robert Downey's portrayal of an Aussie portraying a black 1960's infantryman was classic.  Downey's plays a black man better than well... Obama.  Sorry couldn't resist.  Jack Black was good as the coked out comedy actor.  Stiller as the fading action star trying resurrect a career.  Even Tom Cruise was good as the jerk movie producer.

LLPP rating 3.5 out 5 footballs.

Please JT, tell us what you think black people should be like.

maxpower,

Its a joke.  I'm a content of character guy... translation Obama is not a man of character (as proven by his actions past and present).  He's a regular old Chicago politician.  Nothing new. All his socialist policies are proven failures at one time or the other.  People are afraid to challenge Obama on his policies because of race.  I'm not.  In fact, its Obama and his campaign that have played the race card on Hillary and now they are playing it on McCain.

I could care less what color someone is.  I'd vote for anyone who would do or try to what right for the country.  I'm not even that fond of McCain, but he is much better.

If Hollywood, liberal elitists, the media, and our enemies prefer Obama, then the opposite is the clear choice.

Sorry but you asked.

Pat Coleman

I don't think he asked for your opinion of Obama, no.

JT, you could have just said that it has to do with the fact that Obama & Hillary miraculously adapt to the culture they are in for the night. If Obama gave a townhall meeting in Harlem for example, he'd be all G'd up, using all kinds of street slang. Conversely he would speak very differently on a national debate that was televised.

Hillary did the same crap when she was running vs. Obama.

Max doesn't know, he thinks it's pretty easy to ignore what he says, especially in the form of one liners like above.

EDIT: I should clarify that what I mean by this is that my statement above was more out of exasperation than outrage; JT didn't have to go into his wordy response and I probably would have forgotten in about 20 minutes.

Bingo.  I should have just said Obama is a phony.  Which is what I meant by the joke.

Bingo, but he was sure to let everyone know it again nonetheless!

So JU was in Vegas last week for a few days and reminded myself to bring up something that really bothered me, the bar Cotoye Ugly.  This bar has to be the absolute worst place I can think of in the world.  Why would any single guy in his right mind go to this place?  If there were 500 people in this place, 450 of them were guys.  It was a sausage fest in the truest sense of the word(s).  Why not just go into a strip club?  I just dont get it.

JU also got tickets to see Carrot Top at the luxor (free I should mention).  I have to say the guy was pretty funny.  And theres another thing.  The schedule said that Carrot Top plays 6/7 nights a week about 325 days a year.  The tickets were 55-75 bucks in a place that probably seated 300.  Thats 120K a week and over 5 million dollars a year?  Could that be possible?

This just in from the Hobart SID:

Hobart Football season kicks off in 4 weeks

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College football team will begin its quest for a fifth consecutive NCAA Playoff bid in just four weeks. The Statesmen's nine-game schedule features five home games, highlighted by a televised showdown with Susquehanna on Sept. 27.

Hobart opens its 115th season on Sept. 13, when the Dickinson Red Devils (9-2 in 2007) visit Boswell Field. Seven days later, the Statesmen will travel to Pittsburgh for a showdown with Carnegie Mellon (7-4).

The quest for a sixth Liberty League title in the past seven seasons starts when the Crusaders (2-8) come to the Boz. The game will be televised on a tape delay basis on Time Warner Sports Network.

Hobart's longest active winning streak will be on the line when the Statesmen head to Canton on Oct. 4. Hobart has won 16 in a row from the St. Lawrence Saints (4-5), a string of successes that began in 1992.

Hobart's only home game of October is on the 11th when the Union Dutchmen (5-5) come to town. Following a week off, the Statesmen head to Kings Point for a date with the Merchant Marine Mariners (1-9) on Oct. 25.

November 1 will see the WPI Engineers take to Boswell Field looking for their first win against the Statesmen. Hobart has won the past four contests by an average of 12.3 points.

The Statesmen will look to avenge their only conference loss of 2007 when they head to Troy on Nov. 8 to take on Rensselaer. With a last minute touchdown, the Engineers pulled off a thrilling 35-31 win in Geneva last year.

The regular season culminates on Nov.15, when Hobart hosts Rochester in the Centennial Cup game. The Statesmen are looking to even the series that began in 1892 (Rochester leads 47-46-7). The showdown with the Yellowjackets will also be the final contest on the natural grass of legendary Boswell Field.

Following the football season, extensive renovations will begin on the stadium. The new facility is expected to include a new artificial surface, lighting, expanded locker rooms, and a new grand stand and press box.

With the exception of WPI, all of Hobart's games kick off at 1 p.m. The Statesmen will take on the Engineers beginning at noon. Tickets to home games are $3 for adults, $1 for children under 12.

Fans will have a wide array of multimedia options to follow Hobart this season. All games will air live on WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3). Statesmen home games will feature real-time statistics and live streaming video that can be accessed on the team's home page.
