Another Union tidbit:

http://www.troyrecord.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=20113535&BRD=1170&PAG=461&dept_id=665217&rfi=6

This reminds Pep of the Young brothers, Bob and Charlie, who donned the purple for Alex Yunevich's Saxons back in the early 70s. Bob took on the punting duties in addition to LB Pep believes, while Charlie was an outstanding receiver and also was first man on punt coverage. Those roles set them up nicely for a 76-yard TD pass off a fake punt in 1971 that sparked a 21-point final six minutes in AU's 28-21 win over Hobart at the old Boswell Field. Bob Young's son Brian was a star QB at Ithaca.

Timlin is f'ing terrible - why do they insist on keeping him around? All that dood does is give up hits.
Honestly, he's awful.

Ok Tags feels a little better now... but only a little.

dlippiel ---> +k for the Fletch pic. "What kind of name is Pune anyway?"

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Thanks for asking Supa... In Miami for the school year for UM's Real Property Development and Law LL.M. Masters Program.  It's going to be a busy year, to say the least.  However, I'm going to try to stay dedicated on the boards and hopefully get to broadcast some postseason games if the Guru is feeling generous ;-)

And, yes, I'll be covering the away games for Union on WABY this season.  This was part of the plan before I even applied for the UM program in June -- we were working on beginning a transition back to WRUC for students to broadcast the Union games.  They'll be handling the home games this season.  We're trying to ensure that Blackberry and iPhone users can listen to the games this season on their devices (more on that when I'm firm on the fact that we've settled that issue completely).  Needless to say, I dug into the Amex points and got me some frequent flyer trips this season.

Hope you guys enjoy the product.  We'll be on at Springfield on WABY Saturday evening at 6:40pm (Carm Audino and Tom Santa Barbara with me in the booth, with Alex Audino and Zach Antillety (I'm butchering his name, I'm sure) on the sidelines for us).  I'll post a more specific message Friday with all the details.

Miss you guys -- so I'll try to keep up with things as much as possible throughout the next three months.  Supa, gimme a rundown of what I've missed this summer...

Gro is breaking out the old skool ewing jersey now that Ewing Jr. is on the Knicks
JU is thinking about buying a house

Chris Sharpe is playing in Finland, and can actually throw the ball (we think)
and JT has gotten the board shut down on numerous occasions due to political talk and there is now a dedicated Political board...

I wish - It's like the NYC mentality down here - You could date someone living 2 districts over and barely see them because somehow, two miles seems like it's insurmountable distance.  Down here, Coral Gables is about 10 miles west of SoBe, but I get there maybe once a month so far.

Man I have never been more ready for the D III season to rev up, since I can barely stand to watch my Yankees at this point.

Any predictions on the Hobart-Dickinson matchup?

Should find out what both teams are made of real fast.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Are the Yankees still playing?  Once they hit 10 back, JT stopped caring.  Thank god for football season.
