in memory of pbr's friends and coworkers lost this morning 7 years ago today....

SF remembers Rick Rescorla, Security Adviser-Morgan Stanley, who saved hundreds of MS employees....including SF's brother, who had arrived two days earlier for training.

SF can't imagine what it would have been like to actually work there like PBR and have to go back to work.

I remember Rick's story.  War hero and Presidential Media of Freedom recipient from his selfless act on 9/11.  A statue of him is at Fort Benning GA.  So many more like him on that day too.

Quote from: JT on September 11, 2008, 11:52:28 AMAre the Yankees still playing?  Once they hit 10 back, JT stopped caring.  Thank god for football season.

Nothing like a loyal fan.

Kind of like all those "loyal" Sox fans that abandoned Fenway in the 8th inning of a 1-1 game last night.

Is this comming from a Tampa fan where games are still 50% sox fans and 50% empty seats?  Even when they are in first place?  10K empty seats for the yankee series and 20K (over 50%) empty for the redsox?

I was there last night (till the 10th), and there was 90% attendence till the 9th I would say Jose.....

I really dont think you can ever say anything about the loyalty of the redsox fans.

Celtics and even Patriots sure, but the sox fans are sick in the head.  Highest ticket prices in the country and they still sell out every single game.

Not that hard to sell out when you only have 39,000 seats 18,000 less than Yankee Stadium

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

Come on Jose.  I thought you knew....  90% of the 'fans' at Fenway, are little spoiled trust find brats or bandwagon jumpers who can afford the tickets since its the 'cool' thing to do in Boston.  Most fans, like myself, were home watching the game in their underwear with holes in them.

I played against Pena though back in the day, so it's cool to see him do well.  I'm sure he had a good amount of people at the game cheering for him.

Makes it hard when the tickets are the highest in the country and they still sellout and dont have to discount prices like 75% of other teams.

Let me rephrase this for JU:

It is cheaper to drive to Baltimore, stay in a hotel for 2 nights, go to 2 games and get hammered at both games than it is to get a ticket to Fenway.

Well its not that bad, but the problem with sox tickets is trying to pay the original price for them.  You have to get on the phone right away in order to get tickets for the season.  After that you are going to pay double for every single game you go to.

U89 was hammered up in the 'Monster' seats last night....Pena's homer was 4 seats down from us.  Peter Gammons was close by doing the ESPN telecast.

He and his security team went up to do one more sweep for people, when the tower fell, killing them all.

PBR...

hate to say pbr told ya JT but RU is going to get smoked this year many games. rice was 80% of that team and teel cant carry it. too prone to the interception. schiano is a very avg game day coach when he has to make adjustments and butch davis is an excellent coach who will have unc extremely competitive in another 2-3 years.

Rolevio is wondering if Superman is really thinking 18,000 seats is a load of difference when Boston has a population of about 600,000 and New York has a population of 8 million or so.  Rolevio assumes the difference in metro areas is similiar.

Fenway still would sell out with 57K seats. Not even one doubt in dc's mind.
