don't you hate when you get words in your mouth when all you wanted was a sandwich?

U89 and Frank go easy guys. I hope you guys are just debating and not getting personal. Both you guys are very knowledgeable and more importantly passionate. Last year and this year are proving to be very difficult for this football team. I think the blame should touch on almost every aspect of the program right now. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the Ned harkness era with hockey but this school can be absolutley "close down" when it comes to atheletics! It seems to me as if there is a whole lot of everything going on and the program is, in my mind, not what it used to be. That doesn't mean that it is not still strong and on a road to improvement. We shall see. It seems to me that this team is desperately searching for an identity and if it doesn't get consistent with tis personel on the field soon it will take that much longer. Just hang in fellas and go easy on each other. We are all rooting for the same team! Go U! I included this picture because the chick eating the samwhich does something for me!

dlip,
U89 thinks he heard Ned Harkness actually passed away in the last couple weeks.  Our boy Jose actually LOVES Erin Andrews.....not that there's not a lot to love there....

Frank,
Again you put words in my mouth....I blame the staff for not making a defensive change THIS PAST Saturday when Rochester marched down the field....you choose to place blame again where it cannot be pinpointed....the secondary is pretty vague.  I have no vandetta against the staff, I actually have great respect for G-Man and a good deal of others....

Sorry if you see this as me insulting you again.....your inability to to ever place blame with your friend and hiring his relatives in the booth obviously call your objectivity into question.

Your post just reminded me of your potential list of biases in this equation, 89.  Should I sit here and list them, or should I just say, "Stop being a Mass-hole?"  Up to you.

U89 understands....when he was young and immature, he would revert to name calling when losing an argument also...

PBR,

Apparently my employer has decided that I should not view that website.  Regardless, I think we can all agree that girls of the Big 10 got nothing on girls of the SEC.

Even Hef, the leading authority on such matters, agrees.  He put a UF student on the cover of the Girls of the Big Ten issue this year....

Its funny,  JU has a few cousins in Fla (whos parents are from New York originally) who basically grew up in the Tampa area and went to UF.  Two of them are married to people from the Panama City area who are Fla St fans.  Its basically a family divided between the groups and they are always fighting about which chicks are hotter, whos schools is better, who is more "real southern" etc etc.

But this is the sense JU gets about Florida. (Jose correct me if Im wrong)

-90% of the state of Florida likes UF over FSU.  More support, more money, more gator flags, etc....

-UF get a reputation of being "stuck up" by the FSU people and the Georgia/Alabama type people as well.

-People from the small towns in northern Fla, dont like the UF people and think the FSU people are "more southern" for whatever reason.

-UF is a better school than FSU, and if the FSU people studied harder, they would have gotten into UF

-The FSU people look down on towns like Sarasota, Boca Raton, Miami, and St. Petersburg and say they arent "southern" enough and are basically Northern transplants like JUs family.

KS thinks you might as well just remove reasons 1 and 3, no-one is reading them anyway.

RIP Ned...

but look at the hit the RPI running back puts on the LB in the play that starts at 1:17 of that video!

Good stuff gro.  Id like to see clips like this of every game every week.  It really shows how good some of these teams are.

Im also impressed with the RPIs linebacking core.  Looks like theyve gotten their act together since those pre 2001 years....

This is true but mostly because UF had a 70 year head start.  Until WWII FSU was the Florida State College for Women and UF was the only college in Florida.  So everyone went there.  Generally, I think native Floridians are Gators and transplant Floridians are either Seminoles or Gators.

-UF get a reputation of being "stuck up" by the FSU people and the Georgia/Alabama type people as well.

This is true except for UGA.  Most SEC schools think UF is stuck up.  UGA fans think Gator fans are rednecks.  Most common chant at the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is "Gators wear Jean Shorts" and lots of UGA fans put up big chalk boards where they count jean shorts.  Side Note: No place on earth is more fun than Fla-Ga.

-People from the small towns in northern Fla, dont like the UF people and think the FSU people are "more southern" for whatever reason.

Panhandle North Florida (ie Tallahassee west) has been heavy Seminole Country since Bowden arrived.  The rest of North Florida is all gators and all southern.  Florida has the unique distinction of being the only state where the people get more northern as you head south.  Both schools accuse each other of having too many yankees from south florida.  Both are right.  Tons of kids from Miami/Palm Beach county go to both schools.

True.  Old joke (that I have recycled in here for Cortland): The only thing that Gators and Seminoles have in common is that they all got into Florida State.

(full disclosure, my law degree is from FSU).

Both FSU and UF people look down on transplant towns.
