anyone know what happened to the d3newyorkfootball page that Hobart always used to link on their website?  I can't seem to find this years anywhere.

It appears that they're not conducting a New York Division III Football Poll
this year.

Pep has gone there several times to see whether it's updated, as Pep used that poll in the Alfred Sun newspaper, but to no avail. Pep has since decided instead to use the Eastern Region Fan Poll from this site.

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

JT is a big fan of Jewish holidays, getting in and out of the city is a breeze.  Some businesses close completely, giving non-Jews the day off too.

Now if Catholics only had to confess once a year, JT would be down.
but our confession isn't a guarantee, god can still chose to strike us down any way he chooses

Except for floods, its the same for us.

good day LLPP pbr checking in after being at the penn. rennaisance fair yesterday w/ kids field trip....pbr strutted around like king henry VII gorging on turkey legs all day speaking the olde english and watching live jousting etc..... catching up on things maybe frank and u89 need to have a jousting match and the LLPP can have a tail gate and watch....

EDIT: shocking (didnt take him long...) pac man jones in an extremely violent fight w/ his bodyguard most likely charges will be filed...

jousting?? too convoluted just make it a straight MMA fight on PPV.

Frank "the tank" Rossi vs the nott street bad boy U89

and name it something silly like DUTCHMEN CIVIL WAR or MegaUltraFighterMania 2008

Imagine how much you can charge for something like that if they are getting $49.99 for Hopkins Pavlic.
The only true currency in this bankrupt world... is what you share with someone else when you're uncool.

It would have to take place on the 50-yard line of Frank Bailey Field... SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY [/stupid monster truck echo]

nah...this is union we are talking about the land of argyle sweaters and red wines at tail gates....jousting is it w/ polite clapping  for the victor as the impaled body lay at the 50 yd. line...plus let us not forgot how the LLPP delves back into ye olde english every now and then this would allow the brethren to bust it out another time

Getting a start on the weekend here are some picks:

WPI 35 - MM 21

Bart 21 - Union 13 (How good is the TE for Union?  No one's done it this year, but that will be a size mismatch all day for them, I think Bart can limit Coney's avg. barring no long runs - unlike Arciddicono who had a bunch of 6 -7 yd rushes one year)

Upset Pick
Susquehanna 21 - UR 20 (I think I spent most of my posts defending Rochester, but Susquehanna has some size on their lines and suspect they may be on an upswing)

Also, I wouldn't want to spar Frank is there is any controversy in a Hobart win at the Boz this year.  BTW, '04 was a clean win.

The Rev's b-day usually coincides with Rosh Hoshanah and his elder sister's b-day with Yom Kippur.  Not bad.

As for Catholics and confession...it is obligatory to do so at least once a year, preferably during Lent or Eastertide.  For those of you in NYC, The Rev recommends St. Francis Assisi on 31st St near 6th(?) Ave.  somewhere in there near the orange line and that Korean neighborhood.  The Franciscans there have the doors open just about all day, and they are not too heavy on the fire and brimstone.  Another good option is St. Agnes, which is right near Grand Central Station.  Mass at 5pm and confessions going on for the business-commuter crowd.

Back in the day, NYC used to take the Catholic holidays off, too.  Not much traffic improvement, but the bars stayed open later than usual.

JT's has been looking at FOREX. Options have been too expensive lately, Both puts and calls are way over priced. Very big spreads.  JT might dabble a little in FOREX, not having any plays is making JT a little nuts.

How about angel investing in student loans.  Lend to neighborhood kids you know well (qualitative credit analysis), lien something/anything you can.  Student loans are drying up with the changes to gov't rules as well as the hole where (private label) securitization used to be.

Lend with partial coupon, partial OID (original issue discount), you should be able to pick up double digit returns, structure it uniquely to your/their needs (no immediate DS like student lenders) and the kid's ability to pay the debt is a function of the job market in four years (buying you time).

Very non-traditional, but what traditional asset classes aren't exactly helping anyone to retirement on an island right now.  Maybe Gold since all this gov't spending will lead to higher interest rates and higher inflation down the road, but your stomach has to be lined with the stuff to live with the daily volatility.

In his more cynical and dirtbaggier moments, The Rev sometimes considers taking all of his student loan debt and transferring it to his credit cards, and then declaring bankruptcy.  After all, student loans cannot be wiped away, but credit card debt can.

It's scummy.  It's dishonest.  And sometimes the Rev thinks "they deserve it."  But in the end The Rev says to himself, "Well, Rev, you're the jackass who took the easy money.  You're the jackass who will have to pay it back."  And then The Rev stares into the Abyss.  If only The Rev had a time machine to warn himself of the dangers of easy money.

The Rev put the word jackass in his post twice, and the next time he looked at this page there was an ad for Red Sox gifts.

It's science...
Red Sox fans = jackasses  (except my main man TGP)
