And unless you are telling me that some games should count more than others even if they are acutally farther, then you tell me why they make sense.

Like any map, there are lines and borders. Why is it that Ithaca can go 50 miles south and be in Pennsylvania, but 300 miles to the east and never leave New York? It just works out that way sometimes.

Im not really getting thrashed.  I just thought MD and NY were in the same region and I was mistaken.  And unless you are telling me that some games should count more than others even if they are acutally closer, then you tell me why they make sense.

I think I know why people have trouble understanding your posts a lot.  You seem to use pronouns in places where the pronouns could have multiple meanings -- and there's no way to verify which you mean.  Look at your use of "they" in the above post... I have no clue what the last two "theys" mean.  And thus, I have no idea what you're trying to say right now.

I'm trying to do other things at the same time, (paying bills) and not proofreading my posts.  Im sorry.  And you are the only one that keeps score on me getting "thrashed" by Pat.  I didn't know you were keeping track on who understands my posts or not either.  I'll be more carefull in the future.

I just have never liked the fact that the NCAA "counts" some games and not others.

Yea I understand you have to have to set the line somewhere.  But I also think the playoff committee can look at the Ithaca/Frostbug game in a more meaningful way than the Becker/Salsubury game.  But the NCAA rules dictate that the Becker/Salsbury game will count more.  They should both be the same.

JU: The in-region markings on our schedule pages are correct.

Ah never mind I thought NY was in the same region as all the other NE states, MD and Deleware.

That makes no sense to me.

Maine , New Hampshire, Vermont , Conn , & Rhode Island , hope this helps you out .

Thanks, I live here.  I meant NE, and, DE and MD.

You live here?  Cool--I live here too.  My here is very near Keith McMillan's here.  Where's your here?

Here's your chance JonnyU--point out that Massachusetts is in New England also.

Anyone see how the MAC imploded today with regard to the Pool C bid potential?  No team has less than two losses now (all in-region, except Del Val with one loss to I-AA Iona) -- four teams have two losses, but several have to play each other still.  Suddenly, Pool C consideration becomes really interesting in the East Region, assuming a minimum of one bid, likely maximum of two bids come to the East:

Curry (NEFC) - 7-0
Cortland (NJAC) - 6-0
RPI  (LL) - 5-0
Husson (Ind.) - 5-0 (2 OOD Losses)
Plymouth State (NEFC) - 6-1
WPI (LL) - 5-1
Montclair (NJAC) - 5-1
Rowan (NJAC) - 5-1
Ithaca (E8) - 4-1 (1 OOR Win)
Hobart (LL) - 4-1
Hartwick (E8) - 4-1
Del. Valley (MAC) - 4-1 (1 OOD Loss)
St. John Fisher (E8) - 4-1 (2 OOR Losses)
Alfred (E8) - 5-2
Albright (MAC) - 4-2
Leb. Valley (MAC) - 4-2
Kean (NJAC) - 4-2
Lycoming (MAC) - 3-2 (1 OOR Win)
Brockport (NJAC) - 3-2 (1 OOR Loss)

OOD = Out-of-Division and OOR = Out-of-Region

19 teams in the East Region have 2 or less regional losses, although five of these teams are virtually guaranteed Pool A bids.  Husson has a very weak SoS (.440 and about to fall further), although they are eligible for one of the three Pool B bids (and potentially a Pool C bid).  This is going to be interesting.

Yeah, but is this getting closer to the fulfillment of my WAG-prophecy, that there will be no Pool C teams in the East Region with less than 2 losses?  Looking at your list, I note that

  • WPI still must play Hobart,
  • Hobart must still play WPI and RPI,
  • Montclair must still play Kean and Rowan,
  • Rowan still must play Kean and Montclair St,
  • DelVal must still play Lycoming,
  • Plymouth St. still must play Curry,
  • Husson still has to play . . . uh, . . . hmm.  Husson's sitting pretty.
  • Ithaca still must play Cortland St., . . .

Maybe Hartwick and SJF will be battling Husson for the Pool C slot.

And let me tell you this.  Ted Turner will get a punch in the face if he ever crosses JUs path.

Did TBS go blank in the whole country for an inning?

RPI 35, Susquehanna 14.  RPI dominated 1st half (unusual for the Engineers) that ended 28-7, no 3d quarter scoring (again unusual), RPI substituted freely in 4th quarter with 35-7 lead, probably accounts for the blocked punt by Susquehanna that was their final score.

I'd forgotten how stark the inexperience of college freshmen and sophomores can be.  When the freshman backup quarterback came in, his first official act was to fumble the snap from center.  Oh well.

RPI running back left the field early in the 4th qtr with a banged up knee.

By the radio reports, Susquehanna has a pretty decent bowling-ball-with-feet for a running back, he can be hard to tackle.  Susquehanna's kicker is better than RPI's kickers.

Other week 7 thoughts:

In the d3football.com Top 25, multiples of 7 lost:

  • 7 (UW-Eau Claire),
  • 14 (DelVal), and
  • 22 (Carleton),
thus proving a few things.  First, Carleton was ranked one spot too low.  Second, the Carleton loss makes the MIAC even more screwed up than it was before--and it was plenty screwed up before.  Third, the DelVal loss, combined with the Lycoming loss, mean that the MAC is nearly as messed up as the MIAC - which at this point looks to be even more screwed up than the Empire 8.

DC - If you were sitting next to Kurt 'n Bob, you must have been one of the loudmouths who was ALL OVER the refs, even for the calls they liked!  :D  Those guys came through on the streaming audio loud--very loud--and clear.

Since you're here, Jimmy Olsen, did you get the word on Costa's injury?

No, I wasn't one of the loudmouths, although those guys really made me laugh.
Re: Costa -- No idea on the injury. Coach King said he wasn't sure, but if i had to guess, he may have sprained the knee. Although he was putting zero weight on it getting off the field.

what is wrong with this post... I mean I can't spell but at least I can do math...

Haven't read past this post, but I'm guessing someone caught it.... rs said that Carleton was one spot too low... a joke.

I think it's worse than that--a real network did pick up the NLCS.  AL got stuck with T-BoneS.

Ted Turner got booted out of TBS years ago--save the haymaker for Bud Selig, the reason for every bad thing in MLBaseball today.

DC will be attending the RPI-Susquehanna tilt on Saturday at 86 Field. Who else will be there?

Gro, Reg, and LD are all in other area codes, your best bet would be RT. I think it's homecoming too.

Speaking of homecoming, back in the day Gro's HS was EVERY schools homecoming game.  Well now the Schenectady Patriots are 6-0 and the top ranked AA team in the section (#11 in the state!). Truly amazing turnaround.  Gro's alma matters are 10-0 and I probably just jinxed the hell out of both of them this weekend.

Dammit!! RPI handles Susquehanna but Schenectady HS gets caught looking ahead to the playoffs (#1 seed locked) and loses to Shaker (Shaker?... Shaker?).
