St. Petersburg Tampa Bay Devil Rays beat the Red Sox, will play the Phillies in the World Series.

No Florida team has ever lost a World Series.

correction... no Florida team has ever lost a playoff series... they are now 8 for 8

You're right, Florida teams are now 8 for 8 in post season playoff series.

Not only that, no Florida team has ever lost a World Series.

How did you guys think I did on the ITH show? Just looking for some feedback. Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?

Nice work DC.  Hey at least gro knew somewhere (posts, ATR) that you were employed in VT and not Toga anymore.  Check your sources boys!

Thanks. Frank and Eric do a really good job with the show...

Is Coast Guard (Coast Guard?) still running the triple option? They have a national but unique recruiting pool, then the task of trying to adapt the players to the system instead of vice versa.

No, Coast Guard runs the no-huddle spread 100% of the time.

Thanks JU.  They should have an easier time recruiting for that style than the flexbone they used to run.

I get the impression that they don't really recruit at all there.  But what they do get are kids who are in rediculus shape.  The linemen are probably the smallest in the country but are fitted for that style of play.  Fantastic athletes and 5 quick receivers who never stop and never get tired.

That sort of would have been my guess, but still--how can anyone explain the beatdown that Coast Guard got from USMMA?

MMA probably gets the same type of players that Coast Guard gets.

MMA gets bigger guys for whatever reason.  Im wondering if both service academies have the same running requirements for the 1.5 mile run?

1.5 mile run??!?!  That's half the distance they made the Navy ROTC guys run in my day!

1.5 has been the standard for a while I believe.

Hi Frank,

Its been a while. How are things? I have been talking to Coach Knapp a little bit and keeping up with the team. Seems like they are starting to turn it around. With all their youth on Offense they remind me alot of my freshmen yr. It takes the Frosh some time to learn the college game and the system but as they mature it seems the U offense will be pretty good for the next few years to come. I am so busy with work coaching and grad school getting up to the U has been near impossible but Ill be up there for the Shoes game of course! hey Frank I don't think people say it enough but it is appreciated by alot of people your dedicated support of Union Football. GO U!!! Frank keep in touch...my email is in my profile.

If this is Steve Angiletta from the Dutch past then great to have you here! You were/are a fantastic athlete and all the U fans I know really enjoyed watching you play. It sounds as if you are doing well and thats great. The Dutch seem as if they are beginning to find their way. For you was the adjustment from HS to D3 very difficult? To me it seems as if the speed of the game must be a huge adjustment. Anyway again great to hear from you and wish you well. It was a true pleasure to watch you play and support you at U.

Ya I decided to pop my cherry and join the daily banter that goes on here. I greatly appreciate the compliment and miss football and the U very much...it kills me everytime I go up there to watch the team. I wish I could be out there with them. I wouldnt say the speed of the game was most difficult...to me it was the depth of the game (if that makes sense). Reading coverages, schemes, etc. all of that was the hardest for me to grasp. High school teams don't really disguise their d's...in college thats all it is. So the receiver position in particular, we run a corner route three or four different ways depending on the coverage. In addition, you have to make that decision on your first few steps out of your release. In high school a post corner is a post corner...coverage did not matter. So once these guys figure out the little nuances of the game out the young QB and receivers will just keep getting better. Future looks bright!!!
