Here is an intersting twist to an LLPP favorite.

First 2 U89 totally missed......3rd, U89 thinks was real good.....787.3

1142.7 is my best during classes today.  C'mon, 89, get that dexterity going.

Impressive....

Yes, but the bloodletting to get to that score was worse than an average October day on Wall Street these days.

K-Mack regrets to inform the LLPP that he will not be attending The Shoes on Nov. 1, as had been his intention all along.

Despite the lure of direct flights from D.C., knocking a rivalry game off his list (though Pat has seen it live) and seeing '86 Field before it's too late, in the end he was won over by a battle of undefeated teams with a little subtext called the Miracle in Mississippi to further rile up both sides.

It was not an easy decision, and believe me, Albany and Rochester are high on the list of must-see areas that ATN has neglected to date. My goal is still to get a good portion of the LLPP in one place for on game. We will do this eventually, I swear.

RPI fans, feel free to blame Union and their three losses. :)

Oh man, and I was going to use the K-Mack's presence as extra inducement to convince Jacquie the beautiful French flight attendant to travel to Shoezapalooza with me.   What's left to offer her, besides a rockin' rout by the Engineers?

Hey, maybe I should turn it around:  Keith, if you make it to Da Shooz, I'll introduce you to Jacquie the beautiful French flight attendant!  She doesn't understand American football, so she'd surely be interested in hearing explanations from a knowledgeable nationally-known commentator.   ;)

Having read KMac's Facebook status updates from time to time, my honest belief is that RS81 should go into hiding now, because if KMac's other half should see this post, she'll make RS81 the penguin on that stupid little batting game I spent half my evening playing.

This is exactly what we need, though, as I said a couple weeks ago.  We need a bloodletting with none of these pansy-azz bouncebacks.  Dow Futures are limit down for the first time since 9/17/01, I believe.  But look at this:

Gas:  $1.44
Oil:   $63
Euro vs. Dollar:  1.26 (closing in on a five-year low against the dollar)
Gold: $700

These are all extremely positive signs moving forward -- these are the numbers that could help shorten a recession.  Gas is now down 60% from its high.  Oil is down 60%.  Dollar has improved by 60% from its worst level.  Gold is down 35% from its high.  Stop panicking, but get out of the way of the market today if you're smart.

How?  Explain how/why fundamentals changed to that degree in your mind.  You really think 12 years worth of economic contraction is correct in one year?  Please explain.

These are the same guys who called for $500 oil.  It's a great thing that these guys are calling for Dow 5000 -- usually, sentiment is a contrary indicator.

Frank Rossi

Interesting article, as someone else had said this on CNBC a couple weeks ago and got laughed off the eight-way splitscreen.  Charlie Gasparino is one of the guys always on the phone on CNBC, so he usually doesn't speak out of thin air...

Roubini Says `Panic' May Force Market Shutdown (Update2)

By Alexis Xydias and Camilla Hall

Oct. 23 (Bloomberg) -- Hundreds of hedge funds will fail and policy makers may need to shut financial markets for a week or more as the crisis forces investors to dump assets, New York University Professor Nouriel Roubini said.

``We've reached a situation of sheer panic,'' Roubini, who predicted the financial crisis in 2006, told a conference of hedge-fund managers in London today. ``There will be massive dumping of assets'' and ``hundreds of hedge funds are going to go bust,'' he said.

Group of Seven policy makers have stopped short of market suspensions to stem the crisis after the U.S. pledged on Oct. 14 to invest about $125 billion in nine banks and the Federal Reserve led a global coordinated move to cut interest rates on Oct. 8. Emmanuel Roman, co-chief executive officer at GLG Partners Inc., said today that as many as 30 percent of hedge funds will close.

``Systemic risk has become bigger and bigger,'' Roubini said at the Hedge 2008 conference. ``We're seeing the beginning of a run on a big chunk of the hedge funds,'' and ``don't be surprised if policy makers need to close down markets for a week or two in coming days,'' he said.
