In the HuddLLe tried to stump the stinger last night, asking coach King about RPI's schedule.  Looks like Endicott/Utica will continue on for a while, what did you think of his answer Counselor Rossi?

Any written record of the convo?  No time to listen right now.

To paraphrase: Used to play 'Wick and SJF,  new league forced us to make changes, Utica and Endicott are decent opponents, don't want to travel far.  You know the Kinger, short and sweet.

Then SJF got good so they got dropped!
Should have pointed out playing Plymouth State back when they were still pretty good.
Kinger danced around it pretty good. Basically he danced about that while Dino danced around the "who is crazier King or Cragg" question! It was a dance off!
The only way to get King to answer that question or rather to get him to not dance is to come out and ask, in these words, the question you want answered: "Coach King, why do you play such a pathetically weak Out of Conference Schedule every year?".....at which point the Stinger will kind of snap and say what he said to the Timesunion Reporter last year "Look, we arent looking to play Springfield and Muhlenberg if that is what you are asking me!".

No more trips to Plymouth State please, talk about the middle of nowhere!

I agree LD, bring on Dem Spicy Boyz!

Gro would love to see Wick back on the schedule, we had a decent little rivalry back in the day. They were some dirty, trash talking mofos though.

Frank,

What would a Union victory over RPI mean?  Wouldn't it throw the LL into chaos in terms of playoff bids, with four teams struggling for an A and C slot?

Break it down.

Couple of great games though Gro right? Correct me if I am wrong....

Plus with Plymouth back on the map it wouldnt be a bad game for RPI to have on the schedule....

Gro had a good game in a loss to P-state, but it felt much better to win the following year. It was so friggen hot that day! Rediculas for NH.

It would be good for the east to have Plymouth State back on the map. It would give the NEFC some credit and push schools not named Curry to improve their programs.

JU played at Plymouth St. in probably the coldest game he has ever played in.

TGP did you play in the Hobart/IC game at Hobart in 1996?  That might have been colder.

Gro, get your geography straight...First game of the year...Plymouth NH...It's not like you were in Canada.  Is Troy hot in August and early September???  Plymouth isn't THAT far north, not to mention less than 200 miles away.  If I remember correctly, it was pretty damn hot the year before in Troy for the great pickle juice experiment of 2000...conducted by Albert Einstein...

It was so good, it corrupted my hard drive this morning -- sick of gadgets breaking on me lately!

Anyway, the answeR was the one we knew in the first place from his Times Union article last year -- so nothing groundbreaking there.  It was more asked for listeners who didn't know his answer in the first Place.  There was no effort to try to "Stump the StInger" because he's answered that queStion before.  Do I agree with RPI's schedUling of OOC opponents?  No.  However, at least they have an explanation for why or how they do it that is a lot more Coherent than the WIAC tiebreaKer rules.  (Couldn't resist.)  As I always Say -- RPI isn't my worry, but rather, my worry is that the other seven teams in the LL might attempt to back off their generally tougher OOC scheduling if it keeps "working" for RPI.  I respect Coach King and his philosophies and his success -- so again, my focus on this topic over the last couple years is not an attempt to slap at RPI...

Great job by RT & FR on 'In the HuddLLe'.....very entertaining and fantastic guests.

One comment RT, your questions are very well thought out and insightful, but you take forever to get to the damn point with all the positioning.

Very good work boys....

Break it down.

Not really chaos, as RPI/Hobart will have probably the final say on the Pool A bid (a lot depends on Hobart-WPI this weekend).  RPI still controls its own destiny with a win or loss.  Hobart still controls its own destiny with a win.  WPI needs RPI to lose twice for the Pool A slot.  Union needs quite a bit of help in just three weeks -- so it's not likely that Union will win the LL.  However, stranger things have happened.  After this weekend, only one team will be competing for a Pool C slot, technically -- the winner of Hobart/WPI.  RPI would have to fall into a Pool C slot if a one-loss Hobart beat RPI on 11/8.

Note:  There cannot be a one-loss, three-way tie in the LL this year.
