JT

So we were flipping through and one the Jason movies was on the SciFi channel.  This one is which JT hasn't seen.  So this chick is running away from Jason and JT goes, "She gonna trip and fall and get caught by Jason."

FMJT:  How do you know?

JT: Formula baby.  Its all about the formula.

Anyway the chick trips and gets gutted.

FMJT:  You're good.

JT: Naturally.

LD,

As gas has gone down to about $2.40 in some places in Boston, the price of one Super Chicken Burrito and a medium diet coke has gone up to $6.24 at Annas Taqueria.

I think I buy more gallons of gas a month than eat burritos, but I'm not sure.  In the end, the rising prices of Corn meal (for the tortillas), rice, chicken, hot sauce, and refried beans, is hurting JU's wallet the most in this economic downturn.

Dude, come down to NC and you get a fraud burrito from Moe's for twice the price.  The people who work there even speak English.  It's garbage.  I'd pay $6.24 for Anna's anyday.

+1 to two complete jackasses who can equate the current economy to burrito's and negatives of a wait-staff that can actually understand you in a Mexican restaurant.

QuoteIn spite of my really long analysis posted yesterday, TGP kind of agrees with U89 on this one.  TGP thinks the issue here is that this year's WPI team is good, but is over-achieving in some fronts whereas this year's Hobart team has generally under-achieved across the board.  The data and performance to date states otherwise, but TGP honestly feels Hobart should win this one handily.  The doubt in everyone's mind is based on the fact that the Statesmen haven't clicked for some reason this season.

Re: WPI.  They initially surprised the stim as well..  Saw them vs RPI and came away somewhat impressed.  I don't think they are the best team by far but they play hard and their option, short pass offense is a pain to play.  They tend to hold on to the ball with the option and short passing game off the option and then take their shots downfield as the D&D dictate.

Their wideout O'Grady would be a star with Robertson as QB with Wells he is just very good.

Thought they would stumble on D this year especially with the Boudreau's hurt.  But they seem to have held it together.  Seems like they have had some breaks (Rochester, Union) but I bet they make the Hobart game interesting.  Assuming decent weather Hobart 24-13  Although if you would have asked me the score at the beginning of the season I would have said Hobart 31 WPI 7.

In other news relative to JUs day to day activities:

-The Boston Globe and Herald are now 75 cents each and thats a huge hit in my opinion.  Although I love how the herald is now smaller and reads like a magazine.  I never thought a quarter would be such a big deal but I ain't paying 75 cents for a paper I can read online for free.

-Coffee still is under $2 at DD and Starbucks.

-JU might actually move to New Hampshire and vote for this Shaheen gal, as these fricking Sununu ads are driving me up the wall.  Why the hell to MA residents have to listen to this garbage from New Hampshire every radio and TV break?  You would have thought Shaheen was running against Obama for crying out loud.

-JU ate half the holloween candy that was supposed to go towards visitors on Friday.  JU explained to Ms. JU that tough economic times calls for drastic measures and a predicted downturn in trick or treaters friday night.

thx.  tgp is still not sure what to expect on this one.  signs point to hobart being able to shut down wpi's passing game, which seems like their bread and butter.  option offenses can be effective but with the speed of hobart's lb's and olb's/de's bart should be ok against that appears to be a modest rushing game.

still a wpi win wouldn't necessarily surprise tgp either.

So FR did some non-legal research today and has a question for U89, since something was bothering him after the ECAC discussion last night:

U89, what season was your story regarding ECAC internal controversy from?  I'm guessing that your last year of playing was 1989, but maybe I'm mistaken?

1986:  NCAA Appearance
1987:  At-or-near .500 record (wouldn't be sufficient in the old format to get an ECAC invite)
1988:  At-or-near .500 record (wouldn't be sufficient in the old format to get an ECAC invite)
1989:  NCAA Appearance (Stagg Bowl Year)

You said late 1980s, right?

How is the liberty league stacking up this year as compared to priors - does RPI win out?

JU- I have a solution for you.  Eat the rest of the candy, put the huge empty bowl on the front porch with a "PLEASE TAKE ONE" sign on it.
The neighborhood kids won't egg your house since they probably figured you had a mountain of candy that one kid snagged using the "look both ways and take the whole bowl technique."

KS always loved B and E, KS is old enough to remember getting about a yards worth of E for .02 when he was a kid, then KS walked uphill 12 miles each way through blinding snow to get to school.

The tooth brush always brought out the shaving cream, corn, eggs and M-80's.

JU, LD has good advice, remember to either park the cars in the garage or better hide at least one car and turn off all the lights except for the porch light.  This way the little buggers will think you aren't home.
