As a former athlete I can understand how during the heat of the game the RPI player was wound up but if he did indeed say what he said: 1.) He deserves to get his ignorant ass kicked and I am glad he got jacked up. 2.) His ass should be removed from the team ASAP. RPI is to damn good of a school to have an ignorant asshole like that representing it on the field. I would like to see how some of the African American players on RPI would feel about their teammates commment. He is a tool and their is no place for that in this game or any other.

Following Reg's line of thinking, what if during the heat of the game the Union player was wound up and threw a cheap shot, then lied to try and make it seem legit?

Shouldn't he be thrown off his team?

Here's another question no one seems to want to ask:  What if in the heat of the game the RPI player said what he's accused of saying, and the Union player just said "shut up, you ignorant a**h*le?"

Come on Redswarm please. It is very simple, if the RPI kid said that he deserved to get his ass jacked up and if King has any morals he should be thrown off the team right away. Using that word not only insults Coney but it insults every African American on both teams. If I was Audino I would say to my player just what Chris Rock would have said to OJ. "I am not saying you should have jacked him up...but I understand." Now if the RPI player did not say that (which is possible but I believe he did) then the Union kid should be out period for 1.) accusing another student athlete of something so inexcusable 2.) for lying and using that word to rationalize that lie. So for me it goes both ways. Yet if we are being realistic I think it is much more likely that the RPI kid said it and the Union player came to his teammates defense.

To me and only me you sound like one of two things:
1.) An RPI fan and probably a former player who is very loyal to RPI and blinded by his loyalty (which I think is wrong but I can understand)
2.) A complete idiot (which I also think is a possiblity) Of course I have been an idiot before myself but never over something racial. And if a Union player was rightfully accused of of such and offense then I would want his ass jacked up and kicked off the team.

Also, RT thinks its irresponsible for people to be saying to much about it on hear w/o any of the facts other than 3rd handed hearsay. It's an inflammatory topic.

Great point.  Its time to move on.

I don't generally regard free speech as irresponsible.

I more often find it irresponsible for people to make accusations of bad character or low intellect based on flimsy evidence, especially if it's because the accuser simply disagrees with, or doesn't understand the accused's opinon.

Can ANYONE confirm that the Ruck wings are as good as ever?

If so, could you call me and breath into to the phone so I can smell them??

Yes, moving on... did anyone venture to the Ruck for post game wings?

dlippiel - How about those SHS Patriots?

gor did you watch any of the game on Friday night? These Patriots are for real and I think they proved it with their tough D Friday night. Peters (the Nisky QB is nasty) and Schenectady came right out an shut him down. They are the only team to do so this year. I just hope next week they can stay focused. It is going to be tough for them because they monkey stomped a very good Lasalle earlier in the season and now they must face them again. I guarantee Lasalle will not turn the ball over this time like they did the last. It is going to be a great game. I think SHS has a legitimate shot and goes in as a big favorite. I just love to see these inner-city kids come together, get disciplined and make this commitment to success. This football team has been awful for so long and all of a sudden "poof" these Patriots are on fire. Have you seen them play? WHat do you think about their chances in the Super Bowl?

Haven't seen them play in years. Gro is glad they dropped the NE Pats replica uniforms and went back to all navy blue.  There's always been talent in sch'dy its good to see it all come togheter on the football field.

Theres this place right outside of Boston (Coolidge Corner Clubhouse) that serves great tasting wings, but they are whole which I hate.

JU likes them cut.

Alright alright enough.  Bottom line, RPI wins and they are 7-0 with a HUGE game coming up.  It is a trap game as far as i am concerned because if Hobart wins, they likely win the AQ, and RPI might be on the outside looking in.  There is no use arguing about anything on here.  I'm sure if there is a reason to confront something on the RPI team, it will be handled appropriately internally.

On to the pumpkin heads...farewell to the '86...farewell to the 45degree crown int he field, and the huge chunks of mud.

I'm anticipating RPI to keep rolling.  Again, I anticipate a struggle in the first half, as it has been most of the year, then a dominating 2nd half and a step closer to running the table.

So what are you asking?
If the Union player had done that there would have been no flag. He jacked him, so he got flagged. Late hits happen in football all the time. You take the 15 yards and make the kid run some sprints or suicides during the week.

Redswarm you are being way too closed minded about this. This is not a Union-RPI thing so just put the rivalry aside. The best team won yesterday. This conversation is about something that needs to be addressed because it is not 1920 in Alabama. My best friend is hispanic, if some called him a racial slur and I was there to here it, even at 39 years old, I promise you my response would not be to call him an A-Hole. Id jack the dude.  (And you'd go to jail, even if the police and the judge aren't "closed minded.")  You are making WAY too big a deal about the late hit. I guarentee you RPI has a few of those this year, heck it wouldnt surprise me if Redswarm had one at some point in his career.

I'm being close-minded because I'm considering the possibility that the guy who admitted he violated the rules might be trying to cover his butt?

I'm being close-minded when I've said it clearly several times: racial slurs are unacceptable, cheap shots are unacceptable?  You're saying that cheap shots are acceptable if they follow racial slurs?

Im saying late hits are easily punishable and not a big deal. Not something a player would be so concerned with that he would make something like this up.

And yes I am saying that following a racial slur a cheap shot is acceptable. Still punishable by 15 yards, an automatic 1st down and whatever other punishment said players coaches wish to levy on him.

My point at the beginning of all this was that RPI Posters were calling Union Classless. My point is that we should be careful what we post on here because we do not know the whole story. For instance, I happen to know which player it was, but because of what I view as a small chance of this not being true I am not going to call this player out publically. Though I do happen to believe it happened (its not the 1st story I have heard about said player being a loudmouth) and would LOVE to see this player have to pay a price. It is America after all......

An RPI Player said to this player: "We knocked your QB out and your Running Back is a......" I dont want to finish this, lets just say the word is a word that was used a lot south of the mason-dixon line in the 1950's.

Just re-read this.  The entire thing doesn't make much sense to me.  It's so off the wall, kind like saying, 'I beat up your mother, and I really hate pants.'  It just doesn't make sense and the trash talk doesn't go together.  I'm not taking any sides, because it's dispicable if it were said, but it sounds like there could be some added dramatics into the situation.

AppleJack used to hit people 15 yards out of bounds atleast once a game.

Can any Union guys compare Muhlenburg with RPI or other top teams in the LL/Upsate that Union has played?

I know I will take heat for this but I was more impressed with both Hobart and Muhlenberg than I was with RPI. I forgot who said it but they put it perfectly: Can RPI beat either of those 2 teams? Yes, absolutely they can. But I think in a 10 game series they would beat the Mules 2X and Hobart 3X. Good thing for RPI is they only have to play Hobart once and may not ever have to play Muhlenberg!

Best thing that could happen to the LL from here on out is for Hobart to beat RPI and then they each win their final game to finish 9-1. I would have to think they would both get into the Playoffs under that scenario.

Again, congrats to RPI on yesterdays win, I know my conversation has taken on a different tone and I have tried to make it not seem like sour grapes. RPI had a better team. In a 10 game series I think Union would win 3.
Again though, some great young talent on this Union Squad. The QB is going to win a lot of games! If Coney stays healthy he will have a shot to break some records. Justin Gallo seems to have broken out of his shell and maybe hes not so one dimensional any more. Cam Johnson had a great punt return and RPI did its best the rest of the day to stay away from him, and he has 4 int's as a frosh!

Hopefully the U can regroup from here. It is important to continue to learn how to win and to build up some momentum heading into next season. Opening with Ithaca, exciting!

Gotta beat Kings Point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RT and a couple of former RPI players hit the Ruck at about 7pm.....blasted through 50 wings between the 3 of us faster than Michael Jackson can get the underroos off a minor

Neither Bart nor RPI can finish 9-1 since they both only have 9 games on their regular season schedules, but TGP catches your drift.

Assuming Bart won, they'd get the Pool A and RPI at 8-1 may get some Pool C consideration - but TGP would be surprised if 2 LL teams got invited to the NCAAs.
