So how about that Daunte Culpepper?

He better launch the ball to Calvin "Megatron" Johnson all day sunday.  The Tough Travelers are 3-6!!

Team Fogel, while losing last week with some players on bye week, is a force to be reckon with in LLPPFFL.

Jonny Utah

Ive only seen RPI from a few clips but don't they run the spread?  Thats a triple option offense that basically takes what the defense gives you.  Not always as simple as saying "RPI doesnt have a good running game/passing game".  That also makes it harder to say what player is better than another if youve only seen them once or twice.

Frank and dllip I usually agree with you guys but I think Hobart is better than RPI. The only way I see RPI winning is with Special Teams. Its a down year for Hobart Special Teams wise and RPI is exceptional.
It took a superhuman effort by Coney for Union to beat Hobart....by 3 points. Hobarts Pass defense is exceptional. and RPI has no running game to brag about. I really think RPI is going to struggle to score points. Unions pass defense has been awful and they really made RPI work (held Robertson 70 yards under his season average). Hobart put up 35 on Union like it was nothing. In fact they missed 3 FG's, so it could have been 44! And the only reason it was that little was because there was only because the game stops after 60 minutes when 1 team has a lead!

Reno -- Name one game this season in which Hobart looked extremely strong, like a team that could go out and beat any opponent with such a performance.  I'll help you out here -- I haven't really seen one.  Even the WPI win had plenty of mistakes for Hobart, making it more of a battle of turnovers and short fields for Hobart more than it was a pure offensive/defensive victory.

As I said, and you didn't address, the Hobart defense is a mismatch against the RPI offense.  The reason Union thrived was because the 3-5-3 they ran allowed more outside penetration so that when Robertson couldn't find a target, his backside was easily exposed for a sack.  Hobart's defense either needs to add some outside power or they're going to be bitten by Robertson all day.

I think Hobart will defend the pass well. They have all year. I dont see why that will change. They have 1 of the top pass defenses in the country. I do not think RPI can run the ball well this year. I mean Robertson is their leading rusher every week with 30 something yards on scrambles. I just dont feel it.
RPI special teams is the X-Factor. RPI Special Teams could very well win this game.

I just dont see it happening.

Defending the spread is a whole 'nother issue.  You're missing my points.  The linebacker-based defense is a tough defense in which to defend the spread -- it's more geared to a balanced offense, especially one with a run.  Therefore, there is a mismatch here that we'll see play out when the spread is in effect at '86.  RPI by 30.

That's why I asked, "Why are you celebrating"

Every Obama supports response "Change"..... Change??  Can someone get specific for me?  I change stuff all the time, the way I drive to work, the food I eat, the channel on TV..... See, that's specific.

Reg, to me, it's not a change in 'politics'.  Politics will always be politics.  To me, it's a change in people's frame of mind.  It's good for the world.  When was the last time you saw people excited about an election?  People excited to be an American?  People excited about a political speech.  I was first the first time EVER.  The politics won't change, our lives won't change.  The economy will do what the economy does, one way or the other over time.  But this 'change' shows that we are growing as people.  If you have heard some of the ridiculous comments here that make me want to puke, it makes me proud to know who I voted for.  I just hope a couple of these stubborn, arrogant, ignorant people can evolve from their roots, and see the world a little differently in a few years.

This has been another episode of 'Deep Thoughts', by Jack Handy.

Rainbow's and kitty cats all over again....
LD,

Re-read your post....
Can you see why I say people can't put their hands around this "change"?
Other things besides a new president change americans....a jump of 2000 points in the market.....being able to get a loan....cost of gas at a buck fifty...houses not sitting on the market upside down.  Those are changes.

I am willing to bet that anyone getting elected would have gained what you mentioned in your post, mainly bc the guy running the country now is so despised.

I can wrap my arms around it.  I just don't need to on these f'ing boards, especially with some of you hard-headed morons.  Just relax puppy dog, your market will recover.  Your 401K will be worth more than $1000 when you retire.  You'll be able to sell a house once again, and make some 'change' on ebay.

Anyone see Urijah Faber get knocked the F out last night?

U89 missed this Faber topic.....U89 is not a fan of the, 'California Kid'....

Frank:

Did someone hit you over the head in the parking lot last week?

Did Shirley Jackson hold you down (disturbing visual) and force you to drink the red koolaid?

Will you be wearing a RPI cheerleader outfit (wow that visual is even more disturbing as I type it) and sneaking in to '86 to join the squad and rooting on the engineers?

RPI by 30??

Man I would love for you to be right but I don't think so.  Thinking 27-17.

Last year Cragg came up with a defense with all 11 men within 5 yards of the LOS.  Took RPI a while to adjust.  Hobart then went more traditional as the game progressed.

Biggest challenge for Hobart is the two-headed monster of McCarthy and Savasli.  Union doubled Savasli all day and slowed RPI down.  I expect Hobart might try this as well.  If they try and cover him man then
Robertson will trust him to make plays all day long.

It was great.  Free WEC event on Spike.  Shows why MMA is such a great sport because anyone can win.  Faber had caught a few punches but he threw this wild elbow and got caugth with a flailing lucky right hook that took him out.  Pretty awesome.  LD11 watched from BWW trivia night where he and his counterpart won and scored a $50 gift card to pay for 2/3 of the beers consumed last night...

Can't wait for Lesnar/Couture.

Just saw it on youtube....fantastic....U89 has never heard of this Mike Brown cat....different Mike Brown that the dude from 'Ultimate Fighter'...

Lesnar is not bad....he was crushing Frank Mir, then suddenly Mir threw him into a quick ankle lock....quick fight, but a good 1.
