forgive pbr's lack of knowledge...but what are the plans for the '86 field after this season? besides letting cows eat/pee/poop on it....

They are turning it into a huge Dungeons and Dragons set...

They are also hosting next year's International Quidditch Tournament...

Ive only seen RPI from a few clips but don't they run the spread?  Thats a triple option offense that basically takes what the defense gives you.  Not always as simple as saying "RPI doesnt have a good running game/passing game".  That also makes it harder to say what player is better than another if youve only seen them once or twice.

They run a pure, pass-oriented spread, not a spread option.  Their running game is not particularly productive, but doesn't have to be--it's more of a "keep them honest" objective, which it's generally good enough to achieve.

I agree with Frank that a LB-dominant defense like Hobart's will have real issues with RPI.  The guys that matter are the (ideally 5) dbacks that must cover a lot of vertical routes and the (ideally 3) lineman who need to get pressure without blitzing.

Hasnt Hobart won 5 of the last 6 vs RPI? they both run the same offense and defense that they have in those years. I dont see how Hobart is all of a sudden going to struggle schematically with what RPI does?

Hobart 24
RPI 16

Oh how I am hoping for this to be true. I very well may attend this game instead of U's last home game for the year. I am undecided but we shall see.

I'm not really sure why you'd be rooting for Hobart as a fan of the LL.  RPI will have trouble gaining a Pool C bid with one loss based on its woeful SoS -- and I'd rather RPI get a home game and go deep into the playoffs to see the LL get off the snide after the 2007 playoffs debacle.

In addition, if Hobart loses, it is the only one of the three teams (RPI, Union and Hobart) that would have lost both of its games against the others.  That would place Union in slightly higher regard in my mind, even if the W/L records don't necessarily reflect it.

This isn't Shoes Week -- so I'd say be sensible about how you cheer on teams this weekend.
