sean avery's comment was way over top but imho shouldnt warrant a suspension...should of let them handle it on the ice although avery would of run like he always does...have to admit though it made pbr LOL when he heard it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnXC6C_b0CA

Seriously PBR?  If the guy wants to act lilke the class clown every time he steps in the lime light, then he shouldnt be playing at that level.  Hockey has had a difficult time with ratings as it is, now I have to listen to this cat chip about his Ex using a term people used in 8th grade?  Come on Avery, hit him with something harder than that!...

This guy is priceless.  I think hes good for hockey actually.  We need more guys like him.  (I'm not saying that what he did was right or doesn't warrant some sort of action by the league)

Notice how JU has the Bruins logo up there now that they are a good team...

right on ju...hockey needs all the characters they can get...their ratings are bad enough. what he said doesnt warrant a suspension they should let the players police themselves for the most part and this would of been taken care of on the ice.

Oh I would have loved to have seen what would have happened on the ice.  I think the suspension is warranted just because his statements were kind of the tip of the iceberg for his nonsense.

What he did in that Rangers game last year was embarrassing.

Gro will not let this hockey nonsense continue.  The New York Knicks are a semi-respectable 8-9 which is a playoff caliber team in the eastern conference.  More than that, they are purging their roster of unwanted (Marbury) and overpaid (Marbury again, Randolph) players and adapting to D'Antoni's fast break offense (no more defense though... oh well).

Gro says they make the playoffs the next 2 years and then land LeBron in 2010.

Gro, put down that purple drank and lets agree to agree that knicks talk and hockey talk are of the same crap caliber on any message board.....

Drink some of this and come on aboard the Celtics bandwagon.....you know you want to.

Gro I hear you man! I turned off the Knicks once they picked up Marbury because he is such a worthless individual and atrocious team player. He is the only player I have ever known that can score 28 and make his team worse. He is a disease and I am just so happy the Knicks are now disease free because of D'Antoni telling Marbury where he should stick it! I am loving the Knicks energy and effort this season and missed watching them so much.

Most of the Mount posters on the board are indeed honest with their compliments for other squads.  As a 30 year follower of the Purple Raiders, it does get somewhat boring watching blowouts and games that we thought would be close turn into routs... not the fault of the fans....

We do appreciate the excellence that Larry Kehres and his staff have captured and continued, however, we do not get our rocks off watching 50 point blowouts every week.

When we see a team come in and put tremendous effort and passion on the field, we appreciate and recognize it...not to be "uppity", but because we see many squads come in and melt...

Ithaca physically beat the hell out of us...and Hobart did the same...St John Fisher was not intimidated and played their cojones off...game scores do not indicate the effort and desire shown on the field sometimes. good fans see love of the game.

when we were beaten in the Stagg bowl, true FOOTBALL fans saw that WWW deserved to win and myself, I found it refreshing to watch the pure joy of the Whitewater fans because sometimes we Mount fans forget how special winning the big  one really is....

So, when we (90% of us)  come on other boards to compliment we are not blowing smoke up your butt, we are sincere.. we respect your team and their game.

raiderpa very classy post, thanks. If I good give K I'd throw you one!

Fellas Avery is hilarious and in some ways good for the game (exposure, ratings etc). Yet in other ways I think he really is very selfish an thinks his swamp ass post diarreaha dosen't stick. Turco summed it up best when asked. He just looked annoyed and feeling like Avery was and is very unprofessional. I guess any player who takes a fashion internship during the summer loses face with his teamates let alone acting like a two year old anytime he is in the spotlight! I for one am glad my blueshirts let him go and feel they are a better team for it. I don't really know where I stand regading Avery overall though. I think the suspension was warrented though because his comments just had nothing to do with hockey. I did laugh though ;D.

You NY fans are right.  Why wouldn't LeBron want to go to New York and go back to square one?  He'd be inheriting a team that is worse than his first Cavs team.  I'm not saying he'll stay in Cleveland, necessarily, but LeBron wants to win titles.  He'll go where he can win.  The Knicks are a disaster, and have been a laughing stock for awhile now.

He's going wherever he can win.  I hate to break it to you New Yorkers who seem to think everyone in the world wants to play for the Knicks, but it's not even close to a forgone conclusion...no matter how badly ESPN wants LBJ in New York.

I didn't say it specifically, but I meant that Walsh and D'Antoni have the Knicks moving in the right direction reguardless of the King James situation.  I think they will be a playoff caliber team by the time the big free agent season of 2010 begins, even making the playoffs this year. They will also be in good shape financially when that time comes.  Zach Randolph was not suited for the fast break offense and had to go, it helps that he had a money sucking contract go out the door with him.

What we have in the quoted post is an acute flare up of mistakebythelakeitis, caused by Craig Ehlo, Mark Price, and Brad Daughetry playing second rate basketball in butt ugly uniforms in the 90's.

Yeah I remember when Fisher lost to them in that 26-14 game how it felt really good just to put forth a competitive game, and I remember being happy that the Mount posters were showing respect towards Fisher.  I then saw how they were talking on their boards how the game could have been a blowout and such and I would have been upset but I mean they are just analyzing it and putting their own positive spin on it for their purposes, just as I was doing when I rationalized that it could have been so much different and maybe even a Fisher win if Fisher didn't get the field goal blocked or messed up their punt attempt which turned into a safety...Whatever the final score is, that's just how it is (like that logic?), I'm sure throughout the course of the game both teams caught some breaks.  I've just come to the conclusion over time and continually running into the Mount Union posters as they enjoy systematically dismantling Fisher that they are genuine.

However Fisher is going to win next year dammit!  No Kmic, No Micheli, and they are finallllllly coming to Pittsford!

No Kmic is right, but they will be returning 8 starters on defense, most of the O-line and all of the WR core.
