Oh, and for those curious, the tiebreaker was who is higher on more ballots. Good thing about having an odd number of voters.

smmtiger,
I guess it is to be considered more culturally advanced to be afraid of the oppositte sex.  The odac should be happy that it sent a team who was able to win two south region championships in the last four years.  I guess culture is to make as many excuses for not getting it done on the field as possible year after year.

it is nice that there is a rivalry brewing with the eagles but i must stress "brewing" since, according to the h-sc media guide, our all-time record is 50-11 against bc.  you guys had your seasons in the sun while we were getting over the lean years following jobu but it looks like h-sc might just be building something.  it takes awhile to get over the hill but once you have crested it, watch the snowball grow.  hopefully this is the year we crest the hill.

That is a good one, "Spin Master SMMtiger". I agree you are ahead in the battles against Bridgewater; however, you have then went on to lose the "War of the ODAC"! Case and point, All-time ODAC Football Championships, HSC =4, BC =5. Not to mention the last 3 years HSC LOST the ODAC Championship as a direct result of BC! And lean years you say, way to dis- 1's, and Ricca's years at HSC, LOL. You have had a great team the last 3 years, just 1 game short of a championship. So I agree its not a "The Game" type rivalry like RMC, but you also have to agree the ODAC Championship goes thru BC, atleast until "you crest that proverbial hill named Bridgewater as you mentioned!" ;)

Well, well it looks like the "Spin Master" has returned! I ain't never seen any HSC students on no wagon and don't expect to see that change after Saturday. You stick to dressing well and driving Porsches and we will continue to hitch the wagon into the playoffs just like we have the last 5 years! :o

smellytigger---or whoever you are...If u dont remember...BC was in the Stagg Bowl in 2001 and if they hadnt have lost a close one to Trinity the next year, they would have been in the stagg Bowl again.  I would say that isnt really considered goin to the playoffs and leaving quickly.  That bowtie must be cutting the circulation off to your brain.  lossen it a little  :)

Hug, is that you posing as the smellytigger trying to stir up the EAGLES?  ;) If not, he is not very wise talking like that for being a rookie on the board. And for being a smellytigger he is also chicken ...and afraid to reveal his email. Truely Bush!

How about them Quakers! Are they that much better. Or was marty keeping the playbook closed. It is interesting to me that both BC and HSC gave up big yards for the game film. A coincidence? Maybe everybody in the ODAC is weak on D?

I think someone needs to go peel arbnrgr off the stands at Armfield Stadium.  Let him know that his Quakers did in fact lose by only two to the mighty Tigers.

Interesting ... H-SC had a 3rd-and-4 with 59 seconds left in the game on the Guilford 38.  Assuming, had the Quakers stopped them from getting the first down, that Sydney would have played the game of field position and punted ... then Vogelbach and the Quaker offense would have had about 20 seconds to go the length of the field and win.  The what ifs...

Not that it would have mattered had the Tigers lost ... the BC-HSC game would still have been (more than likely) for the ODAC title.

One of my third graders shows up in my very Bridgewater decorated classroom today, wearing an HSC football t-shirt because her cousin plays on the team and she went to his game this weekend!

I thought this was a great way to kick off the BC/HSC week!  :P

Some chat here about BC's playoff history...actually, over the past 5 years, they have reached a different level in the playoffs each year, from going 1-and-out (last year) to making it to the fifth level (Stagg Bowl, 2001). To avoid duplicating a prior year performance I guess this year BC either doesn't get invited to the dance, or they win all the marbles...

You're dreamin' if you think that I'm gonna go away that easily.

It's gonna be nice to finally see the Tigers dominate the Eagles.  Washington and trick plays won't pull it out this weekend.  Highfill needs to start warming up while Awkard needs to just stop dancing now.

The final picture from the RMC-CUA gallery is a great shot. Rodney Nelson and Nick Bublavi face to face after the game, giving each other respect. Bublavi was amazing as usual for Catholic, but Nelson really impressed me for a freshman. He caught 2 TDs for Macon and went over a hundred yards receiving, while also manning up on Bublavi on defense. Without Nelson, RMC doesn't  come close in this game in my opinion. Overall it was a great contest with big plays made on both sides. Catholic was lucky enough to make more, and overcame two more touchdowns being questionably called back by officials. I would love it if this stat were kept, but Catholic has to lead the nation with 6 TDs called back in 4 games.
Keith Ricca is improving and if he ever learns to throw the ball away instead of taking a sack, Catholic will have an amazing quarterback for the next few years. Great win Cards, and lets roll through the ODAC.

coach em up,
As we can all see from your posts about E&H you have no concept of defense.   Giving up 50 points to W&J at home is not good defense.  You also have no concept of offense since you believed that W&J had only two offensive weapons.  So let me fill you in on the concept of defense for this week.  BC: Defense has been suspect all year long to the pass.  HSC: Defense even more suspect than BC (Gave up 45 points to Guilford).  Since we have covered defense now we shall get to a concept of offense.  BC: 7th in the country in total offense.  Very balenced attack racking up the yards both on the ground and in the air.  HSC: 1st in the country in total offense.  Very pass heavy attack.  Now that we have covered the basics can you please explain to everyone on this board how in your infinate wisdom you determained that Guilford's lousy offense can put 45 points up on HSC, but BC will only be able to score 21?

cnusfinest54

Not that its really any of my business or that I really care. But I am tired of people talking about HSC having the #1 offense in the nation. Even CNU's offense looked like the Rams against a horrible Maryville team. But when they played two good football teams (Rowan and Salisbury) all they could muster up was 17 offensive points in two games. All I am saying is play some good teams before you consider yourself the #1 offense in the nation. And if HSC is ragging on Bwater for what they have done in the past few years you guys are really in for a rude awakening if you get to the playoffs this year. Becuase if you gave up 40 some odd points to Guilford, then I hope your offense plans on averaging about 80 plus in the postseason. Because teams like W&J, MHB, Trinity, Hardin Simmons, Salisbury and even Bwater to name a few have showed that they can put up some points against really good teams in the playoffs.
