I don't think adding football will increase school spirit much in anything but football. School spirit at LC is pathetic. A lot of the fans are fairweather fans, and a lot of them only show up to games when we play a good opponent. When you have one of the top 2 baseball teams in the conference and a good attendance day means 100 people, you know you have problems with attendance. When W&L men's basketball has a higher overall average attendance than LC, you know you have some school spirit problems. When your men's basketball team (which is one of the most popular sports on campus) has an average attendance over 200 below the average attendance for the conference home games, you know there are some school spirit problems. That's not even taking into account that LC has one of the highest enrollments of all the ODAC schools. I'd give football attendance (at least the home games) a 1500 average, maybe 2000, at max. Also doesn't help that a lot of people living IN Lynchburg have never even heard of Lynchburg College. I've lived here my whole life and I'd never heard of LC until my mom started working her back when I was in middle school. Having Liberty University overshadow anything ever done by any of the other central VA schools combined doesnt help either. Anything LC sports is forced to the last few sports pages in the newspaper when it's a win and when LC losses, then the newspaper deciddes it's worthy of the first few pages. So a lot of people only end up seeing "LC looses" in the newspaper - Especially if it's basketball. I've noticed that the Lynchburg newspaper likes to put a huge headline and a gigantic picture from the game when we [LC men's basketball] lose, but when we win, we get some tiny article in the middle of the newspaper with no picture (with the exception being two years ago when we beat Rnadolph Macon in the first round of the ODAC Tournament.

Did anyone attend the E&H scrimmage yesterday?  If so can you provide me with some feedback as to what you witnessed?

Good to see new blood on post patterns. Should be a great year of banter and ODAC football. Welcome E&H faithful, now we need support for schools beside E&H, HSC, & BC.

Heres to a great season as I look forward to meeting and sharing a beer with each of you this year. That is after BC has won ODAC Title #5 in a row. Sorry couldn't help myself. I realize no team has an ODAC loss yet!

Twas the night before gameday and all through the fieldhouse not a creature was stirring except for the sports information director finishing up the press release. When out on the tailgate field there rose such a heavy smoke. The Dean of Students grumbles for one knows whats afloat. A great tailgate season, full of food and beverage (always in a cup, you know what I mean) for all who show up. Go Emory, Go Eagles, Go Generals they cheered as they hope for victory on the field this year.

Oh, sorry I had one of those Homer Simpson Moments.

While I was travelling the last 2 weeks and taking in all the east coast had to offer I am happy to say Colorado is now home.

I have been looking for a coaching job,this DOD is getting old and I  am tired about worring about those people...the ones that want to do us.

I have a feeling there will be a significant upset in the ODAC and I am not talking HSC and BC. That will won again in the 4th QTR or the last play...by BC. I am talking maybe a EH or a RMC doing one of the bigs in OT

BC5 5-1  11-2
HSC 4-2  8-2 (if a 2nd gets in I think they go 2nd round) Ricci (sp) is a little dangerous
EH  4-2   7-3
CU  1-5   2-8
RMC 2-4  4-6
GC 1-5  5-5

BC is the class of course but they will get a conference bump somewhere and still go to the 2nd round. HSC will get it in the form of BC and/or EH. I think those hornet wasps whatever will get to the Eagles this year. I did not mention the Generals because, well who cares. They do dress nicely.The Cards might be a little dangerous this year as a spoiler.

Why yes Pat. Not being the sharpest knife in the drawer I was posting without knowing I was posting. I could not see my posts. It was due to my not understanding the workings. Also it threw me off when the system did not recognize me.

I had to have Narch give me a class. Since we restarted I thought it would be funny... ONCE.... to get a truncated "Animal House" line in there but I just figured it out this past weekend that the posts were going thru. No snivelling about anything. Nice new look and is now easier for me. It was not my intention to seem like I missed something. How's your day?

Johnny Junes will be HSC's running back this year,
but has any one heard or know anything about the junior running back, Charlie Omick?
He apparently played some last year and was the kick-off returner along with Junes.
